Home decoration, like wood flooring and go in a circle, pure wood price is beyond my budget, strengthen the floor style, the price close to the people, good care, between the solid wood composite, the price is not cheap, but I can barely accept, after all, environmental protection in this area, really solid wood composite laminate flooring than good? I have read a statement on the Internet, but also a solid wood composite adhesive layer is not sticky, reinforced composite, the price is not very close to the people, I am very tangled ~ please knowledgeable friends advice, thank you! ~
2 laminate flooringThe reinforced composite floor is composed of wear-resistant layer, decorative layer, base layer and balance layer. Has the advantages of wear: approximately above the ordinary lacquer floor 10 ~ 30 times; computer simulation can be pretty: all kinds of wood and pattern, color; stability: completely broken up the original wood tissue, destroy the shrinkage characteristics of anisotropic and moisture expansion and drying, the size is very stable, especially suitable for floor heating room system.AdvantageAbrasion resistance: about 10 to more than 30 times that of ordinary paint floor.Beautiful: can be used to simulate a variety of computer wood and patterns, colors.Stability: completely broken up the original wood tissue, destroy the anisotropy and wet expansion drying shrinkage characteristics, the size is very stable, especially for the heating system of the room.In addition, there are impact resistance, anti-static, anti pollution, light resistance, resistance to cigarette burning, easy installation, easy maintenance, etc..shortcomingBlisters after damage not repair, Juegan poor.In particular, it is pointed out that in the past there have been dealers that laminate flooring is a waterproof floor, which is only for the surface, in fact, to strengthen the use of composite floor only to avoid the blisters.
I would like to ask the new installation of the floor is not painted, that is, to the surface of pure wood without any oil. Now I want to wax how to fight? Is the essential oil or wax good? If wax hit solid wax or liquid wax good?
waterproofSolid wood flooring most afraid of water. To prevent the rain water in summer. Winter to prevent the heating room running water. If you accidentally leak on the water, even a little tea, but also timely with soft cloth to clean, keep dry, so as not to push the luster, and even cause warping, cracking, mildew. If the indoor cement ground return water wet (which is at the bottom of the room the most vulnerable situation) caused by rotten, warping, peeling, swelling color variation problems such as paint, must first solve the problem back to the water wet, and then fill in the floor renovation.
I am looking for information on the advantages of pergo type flooring. We would like to put this type of flooring in our condo. The condo rules say NO hardwood flooring, but these rules were probably written in the 80's. What are the advatages over the traditional type of hardwood flooring? Where can I find some info on the subject?Does anyone have a favorite brand. One that's easier to install than another?Any good tips about installation?Thank You!
the dupont elite is a great floor. looks very real, 30 year warranty, goes together easy. STAY AWAY FROM PERGO BRAND it is crap. as far as tips first add about 15% to whatever your square footage is...exp. if the room is 10'x10' that is 100 square feet. buy 115 square feet. be sure to stager your seamsendcuts the dupont also has the pad preinstalled on the planks which makes life alot easier. the floors that you must put the pad down first are a pain in the butt. you end up triping, and ripping the pad as you work in the room. MOST IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!! reguardless of which type floor you buy be sure to have it in the house (close to the area to be installed) so the flooring can aclamate to the air temp in the house. home depot sells the dupont flooring, the stock 3 different colors, and can special order 3 or 4 more colors.

Note: the optional floor is not the harder the better, because the more hard texture, the feeling is not good, and lost itself wood sound absorption and moisture resistance etc.. Some businesses often use some metal objects carved floor, the floor is not damaged as well, this is just a business promotional gimmick. We know the most simple truth: the wood must be afraid of iron (two of the molecular structure is not the same), and not afraid of the floor of the iron is not necessarily a pure wood products. I hope you will not be misled by the advertising business. To know the statistics on the floor of the complaints, 100 complaints, because the problem is not even wear a very simple reason...... Who will go to his home wearing high-heeled shoes at random? Or hit the floor with a metal object?. So the real problem is that the floor cracks, deformation, etc..

floating floor I've heard of is always in reference to laminate. Why couldn't a person float an engineered wood floor?
Ok no.1 Never glue carpet to hardwood floors. The floors will be destroyed. You only have two solutions. A- WHich I feel is the best in your circumstance is to get a large area rug or carpet to fit the room and buy non skid area rug pad. It can be bought at home depot . It is a rubber mesh that when layed under your carpet or rug hold sit in place and also protects the floor from becoming scratched with the backing of some carpets. B- Get Tackstrip which home depot also carries and nail it around the perimeter of the room with the pins or nails angled toward the walls and rent a power stretcher to attach it to the tackstrip. After removal of the carpet you will have to fill in holes that the tackstrip left with matching wood putty to keep your deposit in tact. I would go with option a if it were me. Good Luck on your decision.
hardwood flooring is not so popular in my country but I like it , I went to store today and found 3 strip engineered wood flooring ..will it look as good as the plank wood flooring ? or it'll look cheaper ?
Although some of these look better than others , you ll be able to tell it comes in a 3 strip pc. You ll be able to see the seams a bit. Some do go together better than others and are not as noticeable but again some look real bad. The over all top look plays a part in the final look also. But the bottom line is that it won t look quite as good as the single stripe. GL
Iam looking to do my dinning room in Hardwood Floor's. I keep seeing Engineered Hardwood floors. So I was just wondering if someone could tell what the difference was between them if any..
1. Solid hardwood is just that - sawn out of SOLID hardwood. Since they are solid wood, they tend to expand and contract with the moisture levels in the air. They can be pre-stained in the factory or stained on site. the advantage is that they can be sanded and re-stained many times in the future if needed. 2. Engineered hardwood floors are made out of layers of different wood, glued together; the cheaper less expensive wood is on the bottom (not seen) and the more expensive wood is on top (veneer). These sometimes cost more than the solid wood alternative because they look better, easier to maintain and do not expand and contract much. For your dining room, go with a engineered hardwood.
