Q: I have cold concrete floors that we had to remove the carpet & padding from because of water damage. Thinking of replacing with Cork Flooring. Can any one give me feedback as to how you clean it, durability to wear and tear of two large dogs (toe nails) and insulation specs? Thanks, Shany: If you are using it in a room that is prone to water damage, it is not a good idea. If the concrete slab is in the basement it is also not a good idea. Concrete is porous, water from the ground seeps in through capillary action. You should not use cork, bamboo, hardwood or wooden floors over humid slabs, in humid environments or rooms that are prone to water damage. They are organic materials, they soak in water and favor mold growth. They are not very different from carpet. I recommend you pick inorganic and waterproof flooring options, if you don't want to be replacing it several times over the years.

Q: whats the easiest way to get it off the floor . been there since like 1984??????????: There is a special tool you can find in a Home store. Ask them. Would be worth buying if you have a lot. I have seen it being used, sort of like a scraper on a long handle. Doubt it would be very expensive.

Q: I currently have a house where the bathroom floor is rotting in the corner right by the bath tub, how do we fix this and then is there something that we can lay underneat the new tile to prevent moisture from getting through?: pull up the floor and replace rotten section and level. tile grout and seal new floor. use an approved expandable caulk around the tube/floor and there should be few problems. keeping the water above the tile is what you need to do, and the crack by the tub to the tile is most critical.
