Q: what does it mean, that your pool has a sponge floor?
Did you just install the pool? If yes, the sand underneath the liner takes a few weeks to settle and it will feel soft and spongy until settled. There is nothing wrong.
Q: Home wood flooring because of immersion tilt, how to do
No way I was selling the floor of this does not belong to the Three Guarantees is not a large area, then you are going to buy a bad floor put on the Hai Li fist box Yugu Feng Feng auxiliary order if 12 mm above the general blister no more than 40 hours generally no problem
Q: My little dog has some leg problems. His back legs are a little numb so he slips around on the tile we have. We are moving to a new home and are looking to put some flooring in. We would like to put anything but carpet. Would you reccomend wood or bamboo flooring? Are either of these better when it comes to slipping and sliding around? Thanks!
Most flooring is fine . But i think it is the wax and in some cases if you use wood less slipping will occur but more scratches.
Q: Would like to know about it!
Now the market to sell solid wood flooring are generally not directly on the cement floor, need to play keel. But the original traditional process can be directly shop, then the floor is a box-like, one by one, called the quartz floor, is directly on the concrete floor. At that time the concrete floor was flat and calendering.
Q: we refinished them 2-3 months ago,we watched a video. they turned out beautiful, except one bedroom started to ripple, and now it is swelling up off the floor. I'm worried the rest of the floor is going to do the same.please help!
Is the flooring over cement or sub flooring? Sounds to me as if moisture is playing a part in this. Check to see if there is water pipes or drainage pipes beneath the floor in this area. If so they may be leaking and causing moisture build up between the hardwood and sub flooring. If no water leakage is occurring it could be just ground water evaporating through the flooring. With conventional flooring you can place 8 mil plastic on the ground underneath the home ( if you can crawl under there ) should stop moisture. When you refinish flooring and remove the coating it opens the pores of the wood up, which allows moisture to be absorbed. Sometimes more than it should. Hope this helps some.
Q: I have ceramic tile floors throughout my entire house. I mop them every 2-3 days, but I feel like they never get clean! I just bought a brand new pack of white socks, and now I have to throw them all out.. the bottoms are discusting! They are black! I dont get it..even RIGHT after I mop, I will walk and my socks turn black. I have used many different floor cleaners and am out of options. I wonder if it makes a difference that my floors were not sealed when installed?
Mopping a floor is sometimes not enough. Give the floor a good old fashion scrub may help. Get a sponge and rag and a good floor cleaner that you can spray on the floor. As you spray use the rag and sponge to scrub and wipe the floor. You said it's black so keep a bucket of hot water in close range. Good luck.
Q: I have an old house and when we pulled up the 3 layers of tiles the concrete is black. This is from the stuff they used way back when to lay tile. In my research I have found all kinds of stuff on how to paint new cement. Can I just paint or stain it after I clean the floor. Or do I have to get all the black stuff off the floor first.
That black stuff is the glue/rubber cement. You can paint over it but you will have the texture of the glue to deal with. You can go to your local equipment rental store (united/sunbelt/nations rent) and get a floor sander with a cement scrubber pad to clean all this off and then paint it and it will be like new after you put the sealer on it.
Q: Sorry the question may be a liitle long, but I want to be clear about what I am asking. Is not it that a Flat-floor, rather than a level floor is needed for tile/hardwood installation. A lot of times due to foundation shift, you could not make a level floor, or it would be out of sink with tha adjoining rooms. If I am right:Are there complication with with Tile/Hardwood over a flat, but not a level floor. To flatten out a floor, I am told to use a 6' straight edge and find the gaps. But, if I move this straight edge even a foot to the left, or right of where I started, the gaps under the straight edge would be moving elsewhere, the prior gaps would now be flat with the staight edge.I am all confused. Can you help please.
Find the highest spot in your floor and start there. Tie a string to a nail at that spot. Draw the string across the room and see what the gaps look like. You can put screws into the floor even with the line at various spots to give yourself an idea of the 'topograghy' of the floor. You can also use these screws as points to level to with your 6 foot straight edge. Just move the leveler material until you see the tops of the screws. A floor needs to be flat for tile, it is nice to be level too. This is how we pour floors in old loft buildings when the floors have to be level up to 300 ft. But a transit and laser is used as well.
Q: My bathroom floor is currently covered with linoleum. I plan to strip the floor of this down to the sub-flooring (wood). What steps will I need to take to ceramic tile my bathroom floor? What things will I have to buy and in what order from start to finish to go from sub-floor to completed ceramic floor?Thanks!10 POINTS to the best answer!!!
Once the flooring is cleaned and ready to go. You ll need 1/2 cement board. My preference is Durock..Pre cut the Durock and lay into place. Cutting can be done with a hand cutter with a carbide tip or cut with a masonry saw blade (DUSTY!)..Dry fit the pcs, lift and sweep the area again. Spread a thin set with a 1/4 x 1/4 square notched trowel. Set board back into the thin set and walk on it all over. Nail down ( or screw) with 1 1/2 galvanized nails . Use nothing shorter.. 8 in the field and 3/4 along all the seams. Tape all joints with thin set and cement board tape ( this is different from dry wall tape.) Let floor dry 24 hrs.. You are ready to tile. Use the proper trowel for your tile. My recommendations are to use thin set and thin set only for tile setting. Starting from the middle, dry lay tiles out to the walls.. If you have a 1/2 tile or bigger , your good. If less than a 1/2 tile, readjust center of the tile to the center line, this will get you a better wall cut. Straight edges and tape measure to stay square is the best way to go. All this is in accordance with the Tile Council of America guide book, Along with the TCA guidelines. Any other specific questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q: i put laminate flooring in front porch and it is getting ruined by the wetness from boots and washing, besides riping it out, could i shellac it or varnish...or what to put a seal over it.
Laminate flooring cannot be used in areas where it will get wet and should not be cleaned by wet or sponge mopping. The manmade backing on laminate is very moisture sensitive and will absorb moisture and expand. There is no finish or sealer that will help you with this, it's an inappropriate use for the produce. If the porch is covered and you want an easy to clean flooring surface try fiberglass core vinyl, like Naturcor, Flexitec or Tarkett, Armstrong and Mannington also make versions of this. Get the heavier grades for better wearing in tough almost outdoor conditions. It can be damaged by UV rays, but wetness will not hurt it and it's very easy to clean.
With advanced production equipment, the company produce a variety of medium-class and high-class lamiante floor and accessories.
