Q: right now we have a concrete painted floor in our basement and i hate it, the paint always chips. does anyone know what we can do with the floor?
peel and stick vinyl tiles stands out as the least confusing. they arrive in 1ft by way of 1ft squares and you the two glue them down or you peel the paper backing off of them and that they are self-adhesive. because of fact they're in 1x1 feet squares that's going to be person-friendly to handle the unusual shape of the room for the reason which you could decrease them to in high quality condition and that they are small and person-friendly to look after. you will get them at HomeDepot, Lowes, etc. they can assist you out. they're probalby the main inexpensive issues too.
Q: My '85 kitchen has good oak cabinets, medium stain. I thought about painting them but think I will keep the wood look and just give them a good cleaning and new hardware. BUT, I really like wood or wood laminate floors and don't know how to match wood on wood. Anything you tried or any ideas on how to go about picking the right floor? The cabinets have a lot of grain and as I stated they are a medium brown.
I think exact matching to the color of your cabinets can be difficult. I would go with a darker floor for contrast. It will update the look of your kitchen and make it look more modern yet still traditional. Good luck!
Q: in 2002 the old owners of our house had a linoleum floor put down by professionals. it's the linoleum square type, not sure exactly what they are, it's supposed to look "vintage". the old owners told me it's put over 2 1/4" heart of pine floors. (yeah, why??) we'd like to see if we can salvage the wood floors underneath. help!?! (we would prefer to do the work ourselves...)
Id deffinitly get a floor scraper, and once you remove all the old tile I would get a floor sander and sand down the old wood floor before applying stain and urethane. If there is alot of nails in the wood floor, you might want to consider putting down a wood laminate floor over the pine floor if you cannot salvage the old foor.
Q: New house just finished finishing, shop the composite floor. Merchants say to do a free maintenance. I would like to ask my friends, is in front of my stay to do maintenance on the floor is good, or the floor with a 窢 Fan promotion both 讵 Huanju only leap time to do maintenance. Know friends please answer, thank you! More
Generally before the stay to be maintained once, because the wood floor after the maintenance is very important, in fact, the family inside the wood flooring problems a large part of the factors are maintenance. You use the maintenance before the time, it is equivalent to you in the same new items to add a layer of protective film, and so this layer of thin film plus, so your floor will be the same with the buy! Teach you a simple way to maintain, after all, very expensive with essential oil, bought the floor has been very expensive, we use the method of maintenance of the floor. Expired milk can maintain the floor, the lactic acid content increased, lactic acid is a natural detergent; in addition to its protein and fat can form a protective film, not only to the floor as bright as new, but also to protect the surface is not too much wear Or scratched; and its grease can make the floor is not easy to fade, not easy to deformation. Usage: the expired milk poured into the basin, and then add twice the water dilution 窢 促 promote both the rejuvenation of the only benefit Lek. Taomi water can also protect the floor, its crude fiber, potassium and starch can protect the floor, the formation of protective film. One or two times the best rice water! Do not know what you buy the floor, how maintenance should tell you! Or will send you a maintenance manual. Big friend floor this point to do very well!
Q: Help? I have just moved into a realtivly new 4 bed house @ 9 years old. The main bedroom floor is very very creaky more so than i remember when we went to view. The main bedroom is the worst. My best guss is there is about 5mm gap between the tongue and grove floor boards and the joists in this room.My sons bedrooms are ok. Is there any fix for this? I was told cutting the floor up was an option but seems a bit extreme .Any advice most welcome... Many Thanks
If you do not have a carpet down you and the floor is just the floor boards it is just that the floor nails they have used have become loose. Buy some new floor nails and hammer down the places it squeeks. You should be able to see where the old ones are and hammer next to those. (you need to hammer into the floor joists). Use a hole punch to ensure the nail head is not raised. If you have carpet down then you can still do this but finding the joists is hit and miss. Becarfull and think about what might be under the floor, pipes etc.... If you hammer where current nails are in you should be OK.
Q: My bathroom floor in front of the sink makes horrible creaking noises when I stand there. There is no other way around not standing in that spot. What causes this and how can I stop it.
If you are able to access this area under the floor, (basement) and you can identify the area that squeeks, run a bead of construction adhesive along each framing member in this area. Try to squirt as much as possible between the framing and the floor. This should quiet the floor for now. When you decide to replace the floor covering, run deck screws thru the floor into framing from above. This should quiet the floor completely.
Q: Home floor, how to wax it? The
Can be used to protect the floor wax or Amami wood. Should not be used at the same time Oh, I use the oil, upstairs can try
Q: My floor is falling out and it's wet but the moisture is not coming from the ceiling how would moiature get under my mobile home to the point of rotting the floor and how do I stop it
How old is your trailer? Over the course of decades of time the flexing your particle board subfloor gets from your walking on it causes it to breakdown.
Q: I am looking for a kitchen floor. I do not want ceramic tile and I am leery of hardwood. I was looking at cork flooring and wanted to know if anyone has it in their kitchens and if they like it or not. Is it hard to keep clean?
definitly NOT! they arent very appealing and..... if you spill something on it it won't come off very easily!
Q: I work at a museum and we have terrazzo floor and marble floor in the lobby. The ice melt salt gets tracked in off peoples shoes and when we mop the floor with plain hot water it leaves behind a white chalky residue on the floor. Even when we change the water frequently. is there any floor cleaner or anything that we can mop the floor with that will not leave behind a chalky residue from the winter ice melt salt??
