- Q: for exhaust fan selection ? which type of fan Imust chose ? and I must provide duct in ground or in false ceiling?
- If your aim is to regulate the level of fibre glass particles in air, inlet air should come in from the top and the exhaust should be removed from the floor level. If the air has to be recirculated (because of A/C) provide adequate filtration in the return path. If once through let the air out after using centrifugal separators and bag filters on the outlet. The fans must be designed for handling the required quantity of air with the filters loaded to at least 50% capacity.
- Q: I just put on my greddy sp2 exhaust system for my nissan maxima. 1999. First i want to know why there is a whole that is threaded on the exhaust system? is something supposed to be there. this hole is close to the catalytic converter. also one bolt for some reason wont screw in to connect the new exhaust to the catalytic converter. would i be ok if i only had one bolt on instead of the two. also my car possibly exhaust smells like it is burning after i drive and leaves a funky smell when the car is on. anyone know answers to these questions
- Unless it's a KN intake with heat shield, don't even bother installing it. Watch what you're buying off OKorder.
- Q: what is the loudest exhaust system i can put on a car its a 1984 oldsmobile cutlass supreme?
- how about no exhaust? they make an exhaust system that opens a door and makes the exhaust come out a different pipe so it avoided the Cadillac converter and muffler, and by a press of a button you can switch it back to the original way so i can still pass smog and cops wont bug you
- Q: Which one should I get first Exhaust system or Car audio system? Please give me some suggestionthxx
- Audio. That's the more fun part of it, and you should treat yourself!
- Q: Can someone please explain to me the importance of the type of exhaust system that you have. I‘m having trouble understanding why people always upgrade to performance exhaust systems. I‘m trying to learn all I can about cars! Where‘s a good to place to start if I want to get a better exhaust?
- Exhaust systems are usually well designed from the factory. The real reason to change your exhaust is to compliment engine upgrades. But, if your upgrades don't up the HP by at least 50 horsepower, a new exhaust is a waste of money, performance wise. Most new exhaust systems sound LOUDER, but do little for performance.
- Q: My exhaust system backfires. it consists of headers, pipes, and mufflers. i have been told that the back fire in the exhaust system (not the carb) would be caused by air in the pipes because of poor welds. i have also heard that an H pipe is the correct way of exhaust work, instead of two isolated straight pipes.is either reason right? aftermarket carb, bypassing emissions controls, ‘84 305 K5 Blazer.
- I own a shop, and have seen this for years. This is caused by the engine sucking air into the exhaust system via a leak. It can usually be found that the gaskets where the headers mount to the heads are leaking, and when you let off the gas it sucks air into the pipes, and explodes the excess fuel that is left over in the pipes. Replace these gaskets, and keep the bolts tight as in check them every couple of weeks. This is one of the drawbacks to cheap headers, as the mounting flange is too thin, and the bolts won't stay tight. As for the H pipe, they work really well. They do help scavenge the exhaust out of the other side as one side fires. Use a piece of pipe, and blow an air hose over the end of the pipe, you can see it form a vacuum on the other end of the pipe enough to suck stuff up into the pipe. This was invented by NASCAR way back in the 60's, and they found a scavenging pipe would increase the horsepower. Also by exiting the pipes at the side of the vehicle the wind going down the side of the vehicle would cause the same effect, and created more horsepower than running them out the back straight. Some people will use a turn down on the ends to capture air flowing under the vehicle, but it's just not the same. One more thing; The backfire can and will sometimes burst the muffler, as I have seen it blow a huge hole in them right at the seams. Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!
- Q: should I install aftermarket muffler?
- Why would u want a loud car? To be an annoying ********?
- Q: I was going for more of a muscle sound, like a mustang or something, would straight pipes work?it is a 4 cylinder.2doorAny tips appriciated
- chevron uses it so i see no ill effects on any engine. the diesel is one that i do not know about.
- Q: Before I decide to purchase and have work done on my car, is there a way I can listen to how the new muffler or exhaust will sound like when it is done?Does it depend on my car at all or is the sound all about the muffler/exhaust?I have 2003 PT Cruiser, if it matters.
- It was simpler than now. They just heated ore until it melted and then used forms made out of clay to pour the melted ore. Then after the sword(or anything else) was heated and shaped a little more. Simple as that.
- Q: I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GT 1.8L and was looking to get either a performance Header, or Catback Exhaust system. Which would be better in terms of HP and MPG gains?(Also I currently have an error code for the catalytic converter as well, but heard a o2 simulator could just fix that)
- Don't let the first person who answered your question discourage you. A complete exhaust up-grade including a factory legal Catalytic converter will buy you a minumum of 5 hp. A cat back buys you nothing. Headers are where its at!
