Q: I have a 2006 kawasaki zzr600, I want to improve the sound quality of my bike‘s exhaust. so if I buy a muffler will it improve sound quality or I have to buy full exhaust system?
Both will improve sound, the full system will improve more.
Q: I was wondering what kind of exhaust system to get for my Firebird 92. I am looking for the best one for the best price with the best performance for my model of Firebird. I would like it to be a dual exhaust I was looking at some of the flow master exhaust systems but all it said about them was what kind of series and not much about the performance. My car is just a regular Firebird and not a trans am so please don‘t think that it is just a 5.0L V8 engine with dual exhaust but still has a bit of fight in it but would like to add a bit more. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
I myself have a Firebird but its the 1994 Trans Am model. What I did with mine was put a KN cold air intake on it first. That is ALWAYS where you want to start when you try to up the performance on a car (especially a beauty like yours). Then I put headers on second. The reason you want the intake on first is solely because if you put any other mods on first such as, headers, or exhaust, it will heat up the engine more than it needs to be. It is safer on your car. And I would suggest KN for a Cold Air Intake, Headers I would suggest Kooks, and for Exhaust I would suggest Borla Catbacks. That is what I have and my car is dynoed at 372 rwhp. You will not get that much out of yours because you have the 3.1 Liter 305 while I have the 5.7 Liter 350 BUT it will still haul some serious $$ and there is no doubt that you will have fun with it! Good luck with the car. And if you have any other questions about car stuff feel free to message me and ask. I am usually on here every day.
Q: Since i want to gain some horse power, I‘m attempting to install exhaust system and cold air intake to my 2007 civic si coupe. But i‘m just worried if they harm my car‘s durability. I heard some stories that cold air intakes make some problem when its raining, because the water percolates through the intake to engine. And i‘m worried if installing new exhaust system does that kind of thing too. Is it okay to install those??
not enough to justify the cost maybe 1 to 1.5 hp more
Q: what would be the best exhaust system for a 73 nova which has a loud deep sound?
The best exhaust accomplishes the most intake scavenge. The best way to do this is with a single exhaust. They will always out scavenge a dual exhaust, when they're sized for the power output. Singles will out torque and out horse power a dual at RPM levels up to 7,000 for most American V8's. If your engine is all stock, I would put a single 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 inch system on it with a good Flow-Master muffler. You can get them with single inlet/dual outlet if you want the dual look, and nobody is the wiser. A single 2 1/2 inch system with clean bends will handle up to about 300 HP. A single will also give you better fuel economy.
Q: I would like to purchase an aftermarket exhaust system for my car. I have done some research and have found a Pacesetter Monza. A Borla exhaust part 11734. A Mandrel custom made exhaust. And a Trubendz custom made exhaust. I would like the exhaust to be relatively quiet because I still want to be able to hear someone while hitting the gas but i don‘t want it to be stock. I want some grunt. Plus i would like to have good airflow and a solid all round exhaust. Please help me find the right exhaust for my needs. I have about 300-350$. I will be installing myself.
Ezra, You did your research well. The pacesetter is an okay header, the best headers that were offered available were the SVTF Header, The Kamikazee Header (always a great choice) and the ZXTuner headers. The pacesetter is an okay decision, however, the main issue that many experienced were the welds on them failing or causing problems. I'd go maybe a maximum of 2.25 if you're only sticking to basic mods. If you were doing pistons and cam work I'd say 2.5 but the basics are great for 2.25 since yous till want some backpressure in that system. If you don't want it to be obnoxious I'd add a resonator as well, the borla exhaust sounds excellent with a resonator and the system listed. Nice grunt, not too much, just right.
Q: which would be bettersound wise etcInstalling a full through exhaust system or just installing a 2‘ or so catback on the end?thanks
Performance tuning is almost an art, it requires a lot of balance. Too little back pressure can also be a problem and in order to get a significant power increase from a straight exhuast setup you would likely need to improve the compression ratio and use better fuel. If the vehicle has a restrictive exhaust a cat back with mandrel bends and a moderate increase in pipe size will show you a small improvement.
Q: I keep hearing this. Is it an exhaust system that starts right behind the catalytic converters?
Anything after your cat to the enr of your car mostly performance wise youll hear that thats when they replace the pipe and muffler
Q: I have a small hole due to rusting right before the muffler, and it is also a little rusted near what I believe is where the catalytic converter is, it is a bulge in the exhaust pipe with vents on the bottom, towards the front of the car. I was hoping it was just the muffler that was making the car louder, but it's not, so does the whole thing have to be replaced, and if so, how much will it cost me?Car:1990 honda civic EX sedan 1.6L (probably original exhaust system due to condition)
My suggestion would be to buy sections of pipe from a parts store if you don't want to replace the whole thing. If your whole exhaust is rotted out, this wont work. As for those vents, you could probably do away with them and it wouldn't negatively affect the car. If it gives you too much back-pressure, remove the catalytic converter. You'll have to put it back on before you take it to get inspected though, or they'll fail you. You could also just cut the top off the converter, remove the innards, and then weld the top back on so it looks like a converter's there and that'll be less maintenance for you. If you do that, save the innards and sell them when scrap metal prices go back up. You'll get a pretty penny for that stuff.
Q: Motorcycle exhaust pipe principle
The first exhaust emissions process is the first encounter exhaust manifold, exhaust manifold in the design of the most important thing is to avoid the exhaust between the cylinder interference, so that exhaust gas as far as possible completely discharged from the tube, the exhaust pipe The role of the middle itself is relatively simple, as long as the exhaust from the exhaust manifold to the exhaust tail pipe, and some exhaust system in the middle will be more than an expansion chamber to reduce the exhaust pressure; because the engine internal high temperature and When the high-pressure exhaust gas enters the exhaust manifold, the pressure is still high, and at this time due to contact with the exhaust manifold pipe wall will have a shock wave, the frequency of occurrence can reach thousands of times per minute, each time will issue a very high frequency Annoying noise, so the need for good treatment, when the exhaust gas through the exhaust manifold, the shock wave from the supersonic down to the speed of sound or even lower than the speed of sound, but this time the noise emitted by the shock wave is still large, even after the middle of the tube The road is not enough to reduce its power, so in the middle and the end of the section to install the "expansion room" and "silencer" to offset its power, and some exhaust pipe design only tail section of a silencer, and some will The addition of an expansion chamber, silencer, and expansion chamber in the middle is similar in appearance, with the difference that there are multiple partitions or porous passages inside the muffler to absorb sound waves and reduce the flow rate, while the expansion chamber is simply a large hollow container , Its purpose is also very simple to expand the exhaust gas to reduce the pressure, so more than one expansion chamber design will reduce the noise a lot.
Q: Can anyone recommend a dual exhaust system for a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
Ok so go where you are going to buy it at and say that you want a 6 inch exhaust I have a 95 powerstroke diesel lifted off road and with a 6 inch exhaust system and it sounds like a lion and thats what you may want.
