- Q: what are some common problems that are possible in a car exhaust system? how can they be repaired? how can the exhaust system be maintained? (to prevent problems) (i.e. checking stuff, putting some kind of filter, or fluid etc.)
- Not much. There is no maintainance on the exhaust system except maybe for the rubber hangers that hold up the exhaust. Sometimes in older vehicles, oil leaks from the engine might pass through to the exhaust (unusual oil smell) and clog/damage the oxygen sensor that is connected to the exhaust. Depending on the actual exhaust material, this might damage the muffler itself. There is no actual schedule maintainance for the exhaust system.
- Q: i want a good free flowing exhaust system that doesnt sound like rice i want it to be quite or normal like stock as if i never had one.were are they give me a link please thanks
- tanabe hyper medallion or apexi WS2
- Q: ok i have a 2005 nissan xterra and i am wondering how i can install a glass pack. i realize that there are o2 sensors installed and i am wondering if installing glasspacks will affect the glass packs please give me lots of info im a noob lol
- I never had this problem (riding since 1983). I suspect it is some bad habit you picked up. Just practice (with engine off), getting off the throttle and applying the brake. Just like tennis lesson where you practice back hand over and over again, if you do it enough times with the engine off, your muscle memory will kick in when you are riding. Good Luck.
- Q: I also plan on upgrading the Intake System. I just had this car up on a lift when having new tires put on and just realized hw immaculate it is. The undercoating kept everything flawless! No dents, knicks, scratchs, rust anywhere! The exhaust however is starting to rust a bit and I want to replace it. I see a lot of low cost cat back systems (around $150) and headers ($200) but wonder if the more expensive ones make a difference? I want something that is going to last!
- To buy a set of headers that will make a real difference, you'll need to spend at least $400. But you need other supporting mods.
- Q: I just put on my greddy sp2 exhaust system for my nissan maxima. 1999. First i want to know why there is a whole that is threaded on the exhaust system? is something supposed to be there. this hole is close to the catalytic converter. also one bolt for some reason wont screw in to connect the new exhaust to the catalytic converter. would i be ok if i only had one bolt on instead of the two. also my car possibly exhaust smells like it is burning after i drive and leaves a funky smell when the car is on. anyone know answers to these questions
- Barring a dead rat that somehow made his abode in the muffler at the place where you bought it, the smell is common when installing new exhaust parts and should go away the longer you drive the car! If there were any labels and or stickers on the pipes and muffler, and you didn't peel them off, thats what is stinking! Give it a couple weeks! You should have a real mechanic install a bolt to replace the missing one, as things will loosen up the longer you drive the car, with the resultant noise getting louder by the day!
- Q: Since i want to gain some horse power, I‘m attempting to install exhaust system and cold air intake to my 2007 civic si coupe. But i‘m just worried if they harm my car‘s durability. I heard some stories that cold air intakes make some problem when its raining, because the water percolates through the intake to engine. And i‘m worried if installing new exhaust system does that kind of thing too. Is it okay to install those??
- Exhaust virtually has no effect it is a percentage thing, you probably make 140 horse 3% increase is 4 horse if that, the cold air intake will gain about 5-8 horse on that type of car,so.is it really worth it?
- Q: i want to get a very loud exhaust. dont want to get a cheap one but also dont want to spend a lot. i must have a good tip. i want it tuner style so i dont think i would like a straigh pipe. i want it to also sound good with a blow of velve. so what would you say i should get. please help me out. i want to make my car look and sound like a fast and the furious car. im not a punk or wat not i just want to use my car to race at the track. but i like a loud sound on my cars. please help me out
- you're in a position to sell it for $5000. i do no longer see it going for greater then that. suitable now you have an 11 365 days previous vehicle, some will say it rather is 12 years previous so which you will bypass by the user-friendly scores no longer sparkling. And it rather is a Mitsubishi, no longer a stellar call interior the motor vehicle industry. i'm undecided how lots fee the enhancements will upload. And it is inner maximum sale. individuals will want a coupon over what a broker will value it.
- Q: I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma I want my exhaust to be Loud and deep with a rumble. What should I go with? Flowmaster cherry bomb glass pack? Thanks for your help
- topolino makes some killer sets. the carbon core cx2.0 weight 1340 grams. i have a set and love it, stiff, light and fast. very durable. bikingthings
- Q: . and what are it‘s benefits and disadvantages as opposed to a standard exhaust system?
- Full Exhaust includes the exhaust manifold, usually replacing it with headers, and the catalytic converter which is usually replaced with a high flow unit or removed completely and includes a cat-back system. Cat Back systems are muffler and piping only. The muffler is replaced by a high flow unit and the piping is usually bigger to flow more air. A standard system is simply the factory installed or OEM system. The more air you flow through a motor, the more power you can make. You can't take in more air than you can blow out, so the bigger and less restrictive your exhaust, the better. The muffler and cat are where most of the restrictions are. These are each worth about 4-5 horsepower when replaced. A header and bigger pipes are just gravy and might get you another 2-3 hp.on a naturally aspirated engine. Exhaust has a huge impact on turbocharged engines, where you want to go as big as possible.
- Q: Difference from a muffler and exhaust system? Do they both make noise? Is it possible to have both a muffler and exhaust. I want a loud car?
- Dude a 200cc will melt your face and your balls will drop don't do it. No but really a buddy of mine rebult a doodle bug with a 6.5 Honda clone (196cc) for his son and it moves, it will do about 40 with me on it and I am a grown *** man.
