- If you are looking for a makeup job then yes its a waste of money. If you are looking for performance then its the only way to go. I have a full Akrapovic system on my R6, and of course I needed the power commander with it, and I have never once regreted it.

- The best exhaust accomplishes the most intake scavenge. The best way to do this is with a single exhaust. They will always out scavenge a dual exhaust, when they're sized for the power output. Singles will out torque and out horse power a dual at RPM levels up to 7,000 for most American V8's. If your engine is all stock, I would put a single 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 inch system on it with a good Flow-Master muffler. You can get them with single inlet/dual outlet if you want the dual look, and nobody is the wiser. A single 2 1/2 inch system with clean bends will handle up to about 300 HP. A single will also give you better fuel economy.

- Starting at the head(s). Exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust manifold, clamps (or welded), 02 sensor, pre converter, catalytic converter, 02 sensor (some cases) pipe, pre muffler baffle (some cases) muffler tail pipe, finisher. Misc hangers throughout. Usually just a muffler will do it to get a different sound. Some people do a cat back system which is piping and muffler(s) and sometimes a connecting pipe from one side to the other in dual exhaust systems. (sometimes called a crossover or X pipe)

- Full turbo back? Catless? If you go catless on the downpipe, you'll want to get a protune. Otherwise your car will throw check engine lights, and run like crap. With a full TBE (turbo-back exhaust), you could see gains in the high double digits with a protune. Without a silencer, it's also going to be very loud, especially when you get up past 3k. You'll also notice faster turbo spool and improved top end. As for which one, check out Youtube. 99% of the combos available are on there, and you can listen to clips to see which one you like. They're all going to rumble, but some are louder than others. Keep this in mind if you live in a state where cops crack down on modified cars.
