Q: What is the purpose of an exhaust emission system?
The exhaust emission system in a car is to remove harmful gasses from the car's exhaust. Cars usually exhaust CO2, hydrogen monoxide, as well as many other gasses; through the use of catalytic converters, resonators, and other pieces of emission-reducing technology they built over the years, they are making cars more safe for the enviroment by reducing the amount of harmful gasses and substances they exhaust.
Q: I also plan on upgrading the Intake System. I just had this car up on a lift when having new tires put on and just realized hw immaculate it is. The undercoating kept everything flawless! No dents, knicks, scratchs, rust anywhere! The exhaust however is starting to rust a bit and I want to replace it. I see a lot of low cost cat back systems (around $150) and headers ($200) but wonder if the more expensive ones make a difference? I want something that is going to last!
To buy a set of headers that will make a real difference, you'll need to spend at least $400. But you need other supporting mods.
Q: Are all muffler delete cat-back systems illegal in the state of Texas? Will I pass all vehicle tests with a muffler delete system? Will a muffler delete system add any horsepower?Which exhaust system should I get on my mustang gt 2007?Where should I go to buy it and get it installed and how much will it cost?
If they make the car break noise regulations then they are illegal. I have no idea what the inspectors will say. These systems do not really add any power to a stock car. You need other modifications and reprogramming to see any benefit, and it's going to be small and at the top end where it's really not going to matter.
Q: i know that the system gives you more horse power but which one sounds better for a cheaper price?
for a usual exhaust system there are a few parts, header, downpipe( a piece of bent metal), catalytic converter, resonator, muffler and the tip is added to the tip of the muffler. an exhaust tip its about 3-7 inches long and can be purchased for less than $15 and is not going to do a thing for either sound or performance. If you want better performing and better sounding exhaust you need to know that bigger isn't always better. 3 1/2 inch exhaust for your 1.5L Honda is going to sound like complete and utter crap. you should be slapped if you do that. 1.5 you should go no higher than 2inch 2L- 2.4L up to 2.75 inches unless turbocharged. Eliminating your catalytic converter may be illegal in your area I would suggest checking into local emission laws before you modify anything. In most states exhausts louder than stock decibel is fine able.
Q: On my 2005 Ram Hemi with single exhaust, I like the mellow quiet tone of the stock muffler. I figure the single exhaust system is restrictive, so I was thinking about dual exhaust. I don‘t wanna buy a high dollar system, and I wanna keep it quiter than aftermarket. Do you think a local muffler shop can free up some HP with their home-made dual system and some stock mufflers?
Yes as long as they leave the senors in place or U will be having check engine light on.
Q: I have an 06 Scion tC. I am looking to start adding parts to my tC, however, it looks like I am a little confused when it comes to which of the above to buy. I understand that an entire exhaust system will remove the stock pipes, guages, and muffler that my tC already has, but I am just looking for that aggressive sound. Would I need to replace the entire system in order to achieve that sound, or can I just got the inexpensive route and buy the muffler only? Would just the muffler give me some more HP? Would it increase or decrease gas mileage? Which is better longterm? Finally, I live in MA. I would like to get this system/muffler, but I also want to continue passing my car inspections. Which muffler/exhaust system would continue me to do so? Thanks in advance!
First of all, if you want JUST more aggresive sound, changing the mufflers will be enough. It will give you a little bit of a performance boost, but only marginal compared to a whole new exhaust system. If you get a whole new one, it will give you a descent boost in HP, and sound even more aggresive. Its all about how much money you want to drop into it. I'd just start off with the muffler. Afterwards, if you arent satisfied, you can always get everything else too. Also, changing just the mufflers will not make you fail a safety inspection. If you get a whole new setup, it is legally required to have catalytic converters on it to drive it on the road. Hope this helps!
Q: im looking to buy a exhaust system that increases my hp and wont sound ricerish on my 03 Eclipse GT Spyder. so maybe staying away from a catback exhaust. maybe a Borla or Injen. what kind would you recommend? and also a question i have about exhaust systems in general. would aftermarket exhausts cause the car the use more gas?? in other words lower mpg.thank you for your help
The mentally unstable guy you find at McDonald's who puts his hand down is underwear in front of you and doesn't pack your food!
Q: looking for some really loud full exhaust systems for my 2011 crf450r, i dont want an fmf
loudest you can get is a straight system into a megaphone pipe but why get loud. I would think best performance is more important If you want to be heard BUY A SOAP BOX
Q: Please refer to the engine, check the exhaust system, what reason.
Hello there! Check to see if there is a leaky place, hope my answer can help you
Q: I have a 2000 z28 camaro and I‘m trying to install a SLP loud mouth exhaust system
Camaro , wow , you are a lucky guy . Being a uk based punter , we dont have the benefit of such good cars . If your talking about a complete system , and u've got good advice and assistance, your possibly lokking at 3- 4 hours to do do the job . However , be very carefull when removing head manifold . not 100% sure , but think they require torquing , and if you dont have torque rench and proper settings , could be a waste of your time . Ask local dealer how much to do the job , that way should be done properly . DJC.
