Q: Ok so last year my dad bought a used 2005 Nissan Titan and it had a loud exhaust system on it. He is now giving the car to my mother and the noise from the exhaust really bothers her. We have no clue how to take it off, could we bring it to somebody. Would it coast alot of money?
There are many chain muffler shops such as Meineke, Midas, CarX. Sears, Firestone, Walmart or any auto repair shop can do it. The price will depend on what was done to the original exhaust. If all it need is a stock muffler the cost should be about $100 to replace it. If it needs a complete exhaust system perhaps $400. Bring it in to a few places to get some quotes for exactly what it needs.
Q: Will the catkins be troubled by the exhaust system of the car?
Wear a mantle for the car
Q: What is the difference between the engine exhaust system and the SCR post-processing system?
Automobile exhaust system is an important assembly of emissions and noise reduction, it is mainly by the exhaust pipe, catalytic converter, muffler, tail pipe and other components. And SCR is what we call the selective catalytic reduction technology, the use of urea in the exhaust nitrogen oxides removed to meet the national requirements of the exhaust emission standards, that SCR is part of the car exhaust system.
Q: i think still the original exhaust system. what do they look like? i want to see if its been changed? thanks
It will have ford stamped on it somewhere if it's factory
Q: I have an old 65 mustang that is waiting to be restored ( i am trying to keep it in repairable condition from now till when i get out of college which is 5 years). Any advice on rust management is welcome and any advice on refurbishing is welcome also. But, my question is. My exhaust system is rattling. I fixed the bracket that held the end of the muffler in place ( bolted to the bottom side of trunk) but, towards the middle second of the car, where the muffler has a wide, jug like section, it rattles. Is this a big deal? What can i do to fix it? Advice please!
It is only a big deal if it bothers you. But I would get a smaller muffler to get rid of the problem. As for the rust, you can get rust converter at Auto Zone.
Q: I have a 2007 v6 mustang and I recently got a Pypes true dual exhaust kit making it, dual exhaust from the stock single exhaust and giving it a much better sound. i can see the mpg I get on the dash and I was used to seeing 16-19 but when I looked it said 13.8. I have had the exhaust for less them a week and sure, I‘m being a little harder on the gas to hear the noise but a loss in mpg is a lot to lose just to be a little harder on the pedal. my hypothesis is that I am losing back pressure/force because the air is coming out two pipes instead of one, but I am no car expert at all. why is this happening? and how can I fix it?
Back-pressure is the LAST thing you need on a fuel injected car - back pressure is what costs hp and gas mileage, and is not anything to concern yourself with unless you start getting extremely ragged with a cam in an older car - and even that is a problem with excessive scavenging and burning valves. You say you got a true dual exhaust kit; what exactly did you do with the oxygen sensors? If you messed up the signal from the O2 sensors, you have mangled your car's ability to manage the fuel maps - that will not only reduce your mileage, but it will adversely affect both your horsepower and cause mechanical problems (starting with fouling plugs, but it can get worse from there). If the O2 sensors are properly located, the next thing I'd think would be causing an issue would be an exhaust leak somewhere in the system - if there's a leak, again, you will be having an incorrect read from your sensors, which will mis-map the fuel.
Q: What are all the different types out there. Ive heard of straight pipe, x pipes, catback, muffler tip, header backSo if someone can please clarify them for me and tell me pricesAlso which gives the most hp or best sound
a catback is the part of the exhaust from the catalytic converter to the end. These dont improve performance as the bottleneck of exhaust fumes will still be in the manifold and pipe leading to the cat box, these catback. These make the car sound powerful but lend almost nothing to its speed. If you buy a full system, it will include the manifold, pipe and cat box, which will mean you have a wider pipe for the whole thing, which reduces the pressure in the exhaust, allowing the exhaust from the engine to be transported away more freely. I would strongly recommend the full system if you plan on modding your car for performance. You can even just get the cat box for now, then buy the rest later on and install it. However, if you know nothing of cars, I would recommend getting it all done at once, so you save on mechanics labour cost. A good next performance improver would be getting a performance air intake, which is another good 'bolt on' mod which increases performance. remember to admit both to your insurer, otherwise you stand to have your insurance voided if you crash and they find it.
Q: The exhaust system of the car in the three-way catalytic if not bad, what impact on the car?
Three-way catalyst on the exhaust inside HC; CO, NOX and other oxidation and reduction reaction to reduce the exhaust to the atmosphere pollution. Its ingredients contain precious metals inside! If the ternary catalyst fails, it will cause the exhaust gas to fail to meet the emission requirements, and your car will not get the green standard, and the ternary catalyst will have an oxygen sensor behind it. If the failure fault light will light up!
Q: I‘m going to buy a new after-market exhaust for my Altima coupe V6. I‘m not sure which of these sounds better since they sound almost the same to me. I know Nismo is under Nissan warranty for 1 year, but some say Borla has more hp. What you think ?
beans (1-5 grams), clams (8 grams), bran (11 grams), tofu (6 grams), oysters (8 grams)
