Q: if you already have the headers what else do you need for an exhaust system?
it all depends of what you want to do to your vehicle. just remember that what ever you do to the exhaust you gotta do to the intake. you simply have to even it out. some people put headers into vehicles to lose back pressure, and others may put thicker exhaust for the same reason. yet they forget that if bigger is not always better.
Q: Need a nice exhaust system. not too loud for a 2006 E60 530i. suggest anything?
Billy Boat or Dinan.Billy Boat might save you a few bucks, but quality is equal between the two. Dinan retains factory warranty for factory parts connected to the aftermarket exhaust, but honestly, i wouldn't worry about it since your car is most likely out of warranty anyways.
Q: I want my bike to have a deeper and slightly louder exhaust sound. Something that will not be obnoxiously loud. Should I get a complete exhaust system or buy some slip ons? Which ones will give me the sound I‘m looking for? Also, do i need to re-jet the carbs? Thanks,
complete system offers bigger diameter header pipes, and get a complete system that is routed a different way so you don't have to remove your front pipe to change the oil filter
Q: Why do you need to design an exhaust system?
When the injection molding cavity inside the air, the plastic material will fill the dissatisfaction, out of the pieces will be lack of material, that is, playing dissatisfaction. Exhaust methods are: open exhaust slot, thimble exhaust, inlaid exhaust, gas,.
Q: Also what exhaust part should you buy to get a nice aggressive sound and improve horsepower.
Starting at the head(s). Exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust manifold, clamps (or welded), 02 sensor, pre converter, catalytic converter, 02 sensor (some cases) pipe, pre muffler baffle (some cases) muffler tail pipe, finisher. Misc hangers throughout. Usually just a muffler will do it to get a different sound. Some people do a cat back system which is piping and muffler(s) and sometimes a connecting pipe from one side to the other in dual exhaust systems. (sometimes called a crossover or X pipe)
Q: Im planning to change the exhaust system of my 2012 camaro and was thinking of getting the Borla atak catback. Is this a good system to install or are there better ones? All i really care about is the sound btw.
Is this a V6 or V8 camaro? If' it's a V6, no exhaust will help it, it will always sound like a tinny V6. If it's a V8, then Borla exhausts usually sound pretty good, but sound is personal preference. Most camaro owners seem to prefer Flowmaster though.
Q: One thing I read, is that the loss of backpressure by having a missing exhaust system is bad and can damage the engine. However, I also read that the loss of backpressure actually increases your engines HP by 20 to 50 and will just be really noisy with no overall engine complications. Also, by missing the exhaust system I mean missing the catalytic converter and onward. Obviously I should just get it fixed but that isn‘t really an option right now. And obviously the exhaust system is there to reduce noise and to be cleaner for the environment but like I said. Anyway, do you think it will damage the engine? Additional info: it‘s a 99‘ 4 cylinder engine.
Do you really want to push your luck? I don't know about you but I value a fully functioning braking system in my vehicles.
Q: i‘ve heard that if you change the stock exhaust system of a car you lose torque when you incremente too much the diameter of the pipe or if the length of the pipe is too short. Is this true? if the answer is yes, why does it happen.Any links?
It really depends on the engine - I've seen a lot of dyno charts where an engine picked up torque throughout the entire RPM range from a performance exhaust. The problem happens on some engines with a large amount of camshaft overlap. This means that the intake valves and exhaust valves are open at the same time for a significant period. If the exhaust backpressure is too low, the air and fuel coming in the intake valve can get sucked right out the exhaust valve. Since backpressure climbs with RPM, this effect only happens at low RPM. Like I said, though, it doesn't happen on every engine.
Q: toyota celica 04 performance exhaust system help!!?
You should be able to just clean your carbs by removing the carbs and pulling the float bowls off. Use carburetor cleaner to clean off the varnish. (just go to your local auto parts store for this its nothing special) Make sure you shoot cleaner into all the passages to clear them out. I pulled the jets out of mine to do this. If you move any adjustment screws make sure you set them exactly in the same position (you shouldn't have to adjust them after your finished). Your carbs probably use rubber gaskets that can be reused if not buy gaskets. (I only had to buy the carburetor cleaner and no other parts) This worked for my 150hp V6 Evinrude that would run exactly like your speaking of. You will have to do all the carbs. I had 3 of them. Use Stabil when you store it like the other guy suggested and you shouldn't have this problem again. Good Luck, I hope this helps.
Q: Ive just brought a De-cat pipe for my 106 Im also about to buy a Supersprint Exhaust backbox Is there anything else I need to buy to make this exhaust system complete or is that everything?
get it tested/driving an 03 with 235000 miles so your about 1/2 way home on miles
