- Q: what makes borla and all the other name brand exhaust systems so great? what justifies the cost of them costing over $500?how are they different from brand y on ebay for $100?
- The difference in cost is for advertising and endorsement payments along with contingency money. Yes they are different then the spin offs in most cases. You might be just as happy with the spin offs, but maybe you would not be happy with the Borla either. Who knows till you hear them on your car? Two hints: 1 Find a Sig of Forum for your car and see if any one has tried them. 2 Go to you-tube and search for the exhaust systems for your car. Many of these have sound and a contact name to find out how happy the owner is now with the product. Good hunting!
- Q: i do a lot of off roading and i would enjoy a lot more sound coming from my exhaust. i have a flowmaster muffler on it right now but its only loud at around 4000 rpms. i want something with sound throughout the rpms. any suggestions? thanks
- I am an avid toyota guy and LOVE the 3.4L 5VZ-FE engine. One peice of advice I will give you is to NOT TOUCH the exhaust system. Particularly if you offroad (not too sure if you define that as driving on dirt roads or actually wheeling your truck) any way.that engine will get ZERO benefit from an exhaust system, the only thing that will happen is you will lose tons of torque, believe me, I have experience with this situation. It will be noticeable on hills, and inclines that before you would not have to drop a gear to get up, or your auto did not have to down shift to get up. The ONLY time that engine will benefit from exhaust is when it has some sort of forced induction(super/turbo charger) Sounds to me like you just mall crawl it so maybe some gay exhaust will benefit you, but I promise you it will not help 'off road' at all. Toyota did an amazing job with that engine, don't mess it up with some loud usless glass pack or cherry bomb hood rat ****
- Q: I have a mercedes slk 230 that came with a very annoying exhaust system, Its very noisy. I wanted to take it off and just replace it with a normal quiet exhaust. I was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to replace? I do not know much about cars, but just as a side note if you look at the pipe, its one unit that runs the full length of the car, it is not broken down into units you can separate. Thank you!!
- first things first, if your carb is pretty well shot get that stuff first. as long as the 4bbl is adjusted correctly it will run better than now for sure also a spectre filter is a good idea. then go with exhaust. i would say x pipes arent very important and theyre expensive. go with 2 and a half inch pipe all the way back to some thrush weldeds shouldnt be very expensive. or if you like extreme sound go with glass packs which will be even cheaper. id say shopping around you can find someone to do the exhaust for like 200-300 bucks depending on what you want exactly. this can all work the other way around too. i mean if your carb works fine now you could do the exhaust first if you wanted. no matter which one you pick your performance will be helped for sure with proper adjustment
- Q: I‘ve been looking and its hard to find a full exhaust system for this car. Any suggestions on what exhaust system I should put on my car?
- Looks like someones got a wedgie.
- Q: Went in for an oil change and the mechanic said my exhaust system was gonna go at some point; said it wasn t a matter if if, but rather when. He suggested I just keep driving it till it goes. I drive a 97 Subaru Outback and spent over a grand last year to replace blown head gaskets. My question is how much does an exhaust system replacement actually cost and is if worth it to have replaced? Also how will I know when it goes, will this cause me to be stuck out on the road somewhere or worse yet could it cause an accident if it falls off when I m driving?
- it only helps if you're anemic- if you don't have enough iron in your blood.
- Q: I have 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, Im wanting to get a nice new exhaust that sounds as close to a V8 as possible. This truck has a 4.0L V6 in it. I prefer to have a dual exhaust. I was considering MagnaFlow, Gibson, or Heartthrob, but I‘m not sure which would be better. Help? Any and all knowledge.
- The problem with questions like this is that 'sound like a V-8' is so subjective. I have two V-8 Fords now, so what I want them to sound like is probably totally different then what you consider a V-8 sound. I've run FlowMasters on my Mustang, that's what's on it now, and it sounds sweet to me. Suggestion - Since it's a 'personal' question, how about going to a car show keeping your ears open. Listen to the cars come go, ask what type of systems a couple of the nicer sounding ( to you ) have.
- Q: I have 1996 Eclipse Gs-t , 210 hp stock. Would it be more beneficial to get a cold air or a new exhaust ?? I have about $270 saved and I‘ve found both products that ARE in my price range. I just don‘t which to get.
- The exhaust will net you more HP the cold air intake is easily to fitt you weigh it up. I would go for the exhaust.
- Q: I want to get an exhaust system on my v8 ls1 camaro and I want a nice deep aggressive loud sound. What exhaust is loud when idleing, flooring g, and driving, I‘ve heard borla is loud
- flow masters 40 series great sound you wont have any problems with them and if you want them loud you might want to install bigger pipes
- Q: is a exhaust system on a baotian speedy the same as a baotian pulse?
- k all u have to do is if u have fish in there you take them out and dump all the water out wash the tank DON'T USE BLEACH soap and water is good make sure that no soap is in it then put room temp water in it
- Q: I have an 07 Subaru wrx and I just put on an aftermarket exhaust. I just noticed that when I first start the car there is more smoke than usual and the exhaust smells different. it‘s hard to explain but it‘s not burning oil or anything. it‘s like a richer smell of exhaust or I‘m not sure. can someone explain?
- What do you mean by aftermarket exhaust? There are a lot of parts to the exhaust, and lots of different options. Are you talking about the mufflers? Full catback? Downpipe (catless or catted)? Up pipe? Headers? If you got a catless downpipe, that's why your car smells now. No cat your exhaust stinks and pollutes a lot more.
