Q: Im looking to put a new exhaust on my 08 mustang, I am looking to do new headers, 2 cats and 2 mufflers, what can the expected hp gain be of doing the exhaust this way and what size pipes should I be looking at so the engine gets sufficiant back pressure. I have the 4.0l V6, like I said complete new exhaust system from the headers back, probably going to use the original cat and add on an oem replacment due to cost issues.
Don't waste your money on headers or cats. Unless your pushing high hp these flow really well. I would say just get a good set of mufflers (whatever sound you like) and take it to an exhaust shop and tell them you want dual exhaust. Its the cheapest way and you'll get a bit of extra hp and sound better. After all said and done should be about $400-$600 depending on mufflers.
Q: I have a 2012 Dodge Challenger RT and have been wanting to modify it a bit so i thought a louder exhaust would do the trick. Problem is is that i dont know much about this area and need help deciding what to buy for the loudest and badest sound. Any suggestions?
Go with a SLP exhaust. Look them up on youtube they have videos of their exhausts on Challengers. Sounds good.
Q: New car exhaust pipe to discharge some water, what reason
Hello! This is the case of good engine efficiency High temperature exhaust gas through the three-way catalyst after the formation of carbon dioxide adsorption in the lower temperature of the exhaust pipe to form a water outflow This is a normal phenomenon
Q: What could cause a constant electrical current in my exhaust system. When the key is turned, it becomes hot. No bare wires touching the exhaust.Already screwed up my rear 02 sensor. Need to find this, fast.
O2 sensors have a heater in them, so they have power. Any wiring harness that touches the exhaust manifold and rubs through could do that. Pull fuses one at a time to find which circuit is feeding it.
Q: i want a loud and beast like sound that will just give you the goose bumps from idle to take off. ive seen people get long tube headers and what not but if someone was to have a flowmaster, borla, or whatever type exhaust system does the headers have to bve from the same name???
Do you want noise or power increase? Just changing the headers will not add any power because the rest of the system will still be restricted. Over sizing the inside diameter of the whole exhaust from the engine back is the only way to gain power. This lets the engine breathe better. If you just want to change the noise, you can just cut out the muffler and put a Stock or Race model in, or just a piece of straight pipe in it's place if your state allows it. You can get custom headers in any type and mix and match as long as you match the size of the outlet pipes and increase the diameter from there. This means that all the associated pipes, catalytic converters, and muffler will have to be changed to over sized. Good luck in your quest!
Q: I have a ‘11 Mazda RX-8 GT. Looking into performance and sound upgrades :)Any help is appreciated!
First don't waste money on big name intakes like aem or kn. It's just a shiny metal or rubber tube with a filter that truly doesn't suck in cold air. You're stock airbox can draw as much as you're stock engine can take. Engineers designed it that way. Car manufacturers have strict economy, power, and emission requirements they must meet and if they could raise horsepower and emissions with a metal tube and filter they would have done it stock. However, look on eBay for a cheap intake if you must. Don't expect a world of difference but they can clean up an engine bay and sound good. Exhaust ehhh hard to say but please don't buy a fart can or 3 inch exhaust. It sounds terrible and ricers know nothing about performance.
Q: Car enthusiasts or a true owner please answer, my father and I are debating
If you use a quality oil and change at recommended intervals, then additives would be a waste of moneywhat additive would you use that was not already included in the oil This is more of a concern when using cheap gas and adding fuel injector cleanershigh quality gas does not need additional additives. I would be most concerned with your cooling system, the corrosion additives deplete and must be replenished by draining and refilling with fresh 50/50 mix at least every two years.the damage to radiators, heater cores and aluminum parts of your engine can be extensive and expensive.just look on this site all the questions asked about replacement of such which could have been avoided with proper maintenance.
Q: FAW-Volkswagen Jetta exhaust system failure light is what the problem
(ECU) can not get the oxygen concentration of the exhaust pipe of the information, so the air-fuel ratio can not be feedback control, will make the engine fuel consumption and exhaust pollution increases, the engine appears idle speed is not Stable, lack of fire, surge and other fault phenomena. Therefore, the failure or replacement must be eliminated in a timely manner.
Q: Probably a dumb question but when they say exhaust system, does that mean it comes with a up pipe and down pipe too? and if not, what does the (system) include.
Full system means headers and exhaust. I don't think it will come with up and down pipe. Why don't you look at HKS's web site. Seems like you are interested in getting HKS.
Q: I am looking for good exhaust system. I’m not really sure where to start. I am not really concerned about sound I really need the performance. Nice sound would be a bonus. If you could give me some names of some good systems. Also what the price would go for these. Thanks
flow masters all depends on how elaborate you want to get if you want to go complete with off road x pipe look to dump $1000 or better but you will get your performance and a good sound
