Q: How hot are exhaust gases that come out of a cars exhaust system? What temperature are the gases?
you brought windshield wipers because of the name.
Q: I want an exhaust system for my camaro that has a low, aggressive sound but also not insanely expensive. Preferably under $600. Thanks
Just say no to glasspacks on LS1's! I would save a little more money up over the next several months, and get a Borla cat back system for the car. Its not necessarily insanely expensive, but it ain't the cheapie system, either. Flowmaster is good, but razzy in comparison to the Borla. In deference to the other posts, Magnaflow is good, and I even had a Magnaflow on my 2nd gen Camaro, but it isn't the best note. Remember also - you're talking about an exhaust SYSTEM, not just the muffler - you'll want the mandrel bent pipes and proper fitment under your fourth gen. The Borla system is the best combination of quality and sound, and worth the extra few dollars. Cheaping out on your car's exhaust now will only disappoint you later - don't be tempted to go for something a little less just because you can afford it!
Q: I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 that rolledsomeone offered to buy the exhaust system and the ‘electronic brain‘, how much are these items worth used but in good condition, and is the electronic brain a legitimate term? Ive had two people tell me about it and I have never heard of it beforeThanks in advance
Well if I were you I wouldn't sell it. But returning to your question, I don't really know the price, but it is not cheap, that's all I know, but if you decided to sell it, and you want to keep your truck, you are going to have a lot of problems, if you dont want to, you should ask a proffesional, cuz, the price of the exhaust system can be lower if it is rusty or something. Good luck!
Q: okay i am planning on getting a new exhaust system on the honda civic that i‘m going to buybut i was thinking the real job of the intake system and engine was getting as much air into the engine as it canand the exhaust system gets the left over miterials out of the car as fast as possibleso wouldn‘t it just better if i had the exhaust system to be modified to where the muffler came out instead of the back of the car but somewhere in front of the back tire, behind the passenger door?
not really no.there are two reasons. First: a motor needs a certain amount of backpressure to run at peak effeciency.shortening the exhaust you may actually hurt your performance Second: putting the exhaust exit in that area, you are risking carbon monoxide getting into the car.this will make you the most grumpy slowest guy on the streetbut hey at least you look cool driving around with your exhaust tips coming out under the door like nascar.oh wait you drive a civicyou can never look cool in that car!!!!
Q: Details: I have a stock 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with the stock exhaust system. What would I need to change if I upgraded the exhaust or muffler?
Just the exhaust or muffler. No other changes need to be made.
Q: I have a 2009 VW GTI and i want a new exhaust. I am most likely getting a KN cold air intake later. But i want an exhaust system now for less then $500. I looked on youtube at some but I only found one that sounds good. BTW id like it to sound deep with a good growl and not all poppy and sputtered. It‘d be nice to have me give me one, that has a sound clip of it and a website where you can buy it at. I am also considering going to CarX auto shop to look at what exhaust systems they got their. NO UNIVERSAL EXHAUSTS THOUGH!
that sounds really fun i say do it!
Q: im just looking to make my car sound better not to make it perform better so should i get a muffler or a cat-back system is just getting a new muffler worst for my car? whats really the diffrence between the two? i hope your gonna tell me if im just looking for sound to go with a muffler seeing as they seem to be far cheaper!
any part of the exshaust sytem rear of the axle so yes its the muffler.
Q: Volkswagen 01089 tank exhaust system throughput is incorrect
Check the carbon tank canister solenoid valve intake system for leaks
Q: Civic exhaust system?
the entire component of having a extra effective exhaust is to launch back stress. hondas are made for horsepower and not torque so merely purchase a cat back exhaust with tremendous diameter exhaust piping.
Q: Am looking to buy a magnaflow exhaust system for my 02 v6 stang but I dont know which to get. I want one that will sound agressive and loud (but not annoying loud), I also dont want it to affect the performance like backpressure, but rather improve it (am aware it wont be a dramatic improvement). Proffesional and personal experience answers would be much appreciated thank you.
I just beefed up my '01 v6 with magaflow products. Go to local exhaust shops (or buy the following parts if you have the mechanical skill) and get pricing for an X pipe after the cats with two magnaflow mufflers. Mine cost $450 for parts and labor and since exhaust flows through an X pipe rather than gathering in a stock Y pipe, back pressure is reduced significantly. My car has a nice, deep rumble (no ricer lawnmower sound) especially between 2-3k on the tachometer. It also has better gas mileage (less work on the engine pushing exhaust out) and I saw around a 10-12 HP (even more with a cold air intake) gain in performance. Not to mention, the car just looks better with two, shiny tailpipes opposed to one rusty one. Be sure to ask about emissions testing if it applies in your area. Happy hunting, you won't be disappointed.
