Q: I wanted to put in a aftermarket dual exhaust to give it some thunder! Only problem is I have limited knowledge on this stuff. I wanted a stainless steel system that gave moderate noise level ( Do not need to wake the neighbors ) and was looking for a good brand with a reasonable price. I also was looking to add on later some 18 inch chrome rims with new tires and maybe a 2 inch lift.
not directly, but it might have gave a surge which the 15a allowed and that could have been picked up in a module, but been engine light you must say what the fuse was for?
Q: I‘ve been looking and its hard to find a full exhaust system for this car. Any suggestions on what exhaust system I should put on my car?
Looks like someones got a wedgie.
Q: Looking to Mod a Nissan Sentra :). Should I do the whole performance exhaust system or just do the muffler swap and exhaust tip? Just dont want it to be expensive.BQ: Will the cops make a big deal of this?
If you're looking for performance or could do heavy mods down the road, turbochargers and such, a cat-back or full exhaust would be better. If you're just looking for a sound/looks boost, then get an axle-back setup. You won't see a big performance difference either way, but getting a full exhaust allows much more airflow which helps with engine efficiency and overall performance. Just make sure that the muffler you choose is good quality or it'll sound like a fart can. The cops will only make a big deal if the exhaust doesn't pass emission tests, or it's too loud. Unless you live in CA, you probably won't have much trouble with cops.
Q: I was thinking SLP Loudmouths 1 or SLP Loudmouths 2. I heard 1‘s are louder. I would also like to hear more about other systems like Flowmaster, Borla, etc. And also what is the loudest best performing system?
no.whatever ur vehicle says is correct ** however this is a grey area since u get better fuel mileage by over inflating ur tiresbut the tires wear out faster ** under inflation will wear out tires even faster and worse fuel mileage ** generally tho most tire shops over inflate tires by 3-5 psi unless they are filling them with nitrogen since tire pressure changes from day to day and time of day due to temp by as much as 10 psi
Q: Is spending $400 or more on an aftermarket exhaust worth it? They certainly sound better than stock but do they significantly increase power? I am the only one I know with stock exhaust on a CBR 600 or a crotch rocket at all.
The solid ball will have more thermal energy to conduct to the ice, and is more likely to melt through the ice than the hollow ball. So the hollow ball will be the one remaining on the ice.
Q: i have a 63 chevy truck that a took the 292 straight six out of and put a 350 in but i cant find an exhaust system in a catalog or online. i know that they didnt make that truck with a 350 so thats part of the problem but alot of people put 350s in those trucks so where can i go to get my truck equipped with an exhaust system
Look up your year truck with a 283 engine it is the same stuff. But if you didnt use the correct exhaust manifolds (1963 style) or you installed it with headers the factory stuff wont work anyway. Just take it to any muffler shop and they can make up whatever you need.
Q: I drive a turbocharged mazda mx-5. At highway speeds, the engine is turning nearly 4000 rpms and is quite droning. Is there anyway to construct an exhaust system that both flows better and lowers decibels?
Oh it's possible but the more you drown out the sound in theory the more you are affecting your performance. Performance exhausts are louder due to the fact that they lower your back pressure and help your exhaust gases flow better. You could install a baffle/silencer in your tip/can depending on what you have. You can make one or possibly buy one. It is basically a cone that will restrict the gases to such a diameter and length which will keep your car quieter. There will be a minor affect to your performance but most people wouldn't even notice this.
Q: does changing the exhaust system to where the air flow is improved affect the vehicles fuel economy?
A modern car no. An old car, maybe but the exhaust system is part if the rest of the system and changing one part of the system without understanding or changing something else in the system could end up hurting. A modern cars EFI system constantly monitors the air temperature, density, and volume going into the engine and then injects the exact amount of fuel needed for the situation. It also monitors the exhaust to confirm it did what the computer expected, if its not it can make further adjustments as needed to keep everything optimum. So that means that at a steady cruise going down the road you are not going to see any chance in MPG with a factory exhaust and air intake vs. a fancy aftermarket one. Now if you are going to try and operate your engine at its maximum output that is where making it easier to get the air in and out is going to make a difference but you will also need to make sure the system is going to be able to deliver enough fuel to go with all that extra air. Properly done modifications like that should help your off the line performance and should not hurt your mpg but they wont help it either and if you are all about the cost its going to be a waste of money. Even if it does save you a slight amount its going to take forever to pay off. You also want to check into your local regulations it may not be legal to modify your car or it may cost you a lot more to legally modify your car. You would be better off to save money my skipping the fast food drive thru. Less $ out of your pocket and less pounds on you which means less pounds in your car which will equal more MPG.
Q: I am buyin it from a friend who recently bought an aftermarket exhaust system for his car.
Well I can think of some differences. I can only base my answer on the elderly care homes around my area. In them I haven't seen the following: 20' fencing with razor wire guards with guns, clubs, handcuffs, tazers or spray pat downs restricted movement during certain times of the day segregation according to gang activity lock downs and shake downs Now if you speak with some poor elderly they might dispute the body cavity searches but the difference here is in a elderly that is impacted there will be a phyician order. I must live in a charmed area because I've never wittnessed the nightmares that some probably have seen in elderly homes.
Q: I was originally look at the 2.5 exhaust system APS made, but then I came across this one.
Dual 3.0 exhausts will handle several hundred cubic inches of motor; I have dual 3 on my 427 Mustang. Sounds very big, but, also, can't see any problem. If the $$$$ is the same, or there's a good used one available, it won't hurt anything to go too big.
