Q: i was looking at some intakes and exhaust system online but dont know what brand or kind to buy, any suggestions? also maybe what are the pros and cons of getting these upgrades
Brand isn't that important on intakes. I use an OKorder short ram since it's cheap and works just as good as a more expensive one. For exhaust it's a little more complicated due to the sound deadening in the muffler, makers cheaping out and using aluminized steel instead of stainless, etc. I think the HKS hi power sounded pretty good on an RSX but it's been a while so I may be mistaking it for a skunk2, dc sports, or megan racing catback. Those are all good too.
Q: Since the car has a hidden exhaust I‘ve heard I can buy a rear bumper from like an 01‘ and get the system for a 2001 as well.
Buyautoparts stock a huge selection of new, OEM, genuine and aftermarket at wholesale prices. Original parts, engine parts, transmission parts, brakes, OEM exhaust systems, to genuine Steering Rack and suspension parts, we have auto parts at guaranteed lowest prices.
Q: I have a ‘90 Mazda MX-5 Miata. I‘m looking at buying either a Magnaflow or Borla cat-back exhaust system. Basically, I want to know which brand is considered better. Looking for deeper, louder, and more throatier sound, and also better HP increase. I‘ve seen videos of the Magnaflow exhaust on YouTube, but couldn‘t find any on Borla.
The tranny should have the serial numbers stamped on it. Borg Warner is one of the top transmission mfgs. t10 is the top of the line. GM always has its stamp on it at the top or side of the casing.
Q: My stock system on my ej8 civic coupe (2000) is rusted. What system that looks stock and quiet but has a better flow? What piping diameter is appropriate that won‘t hinder performance?
Really, there isn't much you can do exhaust wise that will be a sleeper for a civic. Only a very expensive exhaust system will actually give your civic a decent tone or you will sound like all those other ricers on the road. Also got to think with all the extra sound you produce you may gain a full 10 horsepower max. If you really don't care about sounding like a ricer and people with real power laugh at you then you can go as far as just replacing the pipe with maybe a 2.25 inch pipe, which will give it a little deeper tone. Get some aftermarket headers either high flow cat or take it out all together if you have no emissions and run straight pipe to a good muffler. I wouldn't really go past 2.25 inch pipe only because you will probably begin losing torque after that and these little engines don't have much torque to begin with and doesn't push enough air to need a bigger exhaust pipe size. I think 2.5 might be just a little much, but it may work.
Q: I just bought a 2003 audi a6 2.7 twin turbo. I wanted to buy a new exhaust to make the car really loud, but i don‘t know much about exhaust systems. I was wondering if i have to buy the whole exhaust system or are there certain parts that you can buy that‘ll make the car loud without spending as much as you would buying the whole system
exhaust systems come in many parts. at the most basic level your car will have them arranged from the engine to the back in this order. headers, piping, turbos, piping, catalytic converter, piping, muffler, tips. a full exhaust change is mostly done on full tunes when all parts are considered for flow restriction and heat capacities. an exhaust from the catalytic converter and back (catback) is used in medium level tuning for noise and better flow, a muffler change is when you just want noise and if you want to be as loud as humanly possible you can do a straight pipe setup which is just a straight pipe instead of a muffler. (in some cases some people will even remove the catalytic converter and replace it with a pipe. these setups are illegal because of the impact on the environment since catalytic converters help to break down exhaust fumes into less polluting gasses) if you want to spend as little money as possible, drill a hole through your muffler. keep in mind that this will break it and should you decide to go back to normal youll need a new one. if it's still not loud enough, go ahead and remove it and replace it with a metal pipe (keeps the hot gasses away from under the car) if this is too loud as is often the case for many people, you can go ahead and buy a new muffler, buying a sports muffler will give you a car that is louder than stock but quieter than a straight pipe setup. personally, I would just go into a straight pipe and buy the sports muffler without drilling into the stock muffler. this way, if I want to go back to normal i can still install the old muffler.
Q: Who created the exhaust system for the auto mobile?
last night , i dreamed all night long about a muffler and a tailpipe . i woke up exhausted .
Q: I realize that it depends on the welder, type of metal and type of car/truck but in the big scheme of things how hard is it to weld and exhaust?
depends if its on the vehicle or not if its on the floor and you know how to weld properly then this is an obvious answer, its easy but sometimes you cant weld when its on the car its often best to put an example so we know what you mean are you talking about putting a muffler in or welding a hole btw, people rarley weld exhaust if there doing it right
Q: were and how can i get a GT-R exhaust for a pontiac G6
Pontiac G6 Exhaust System
Q: I can get a kit for my truck for about 400 bucks, but can a muffler shop do the same thing for probably a little less?what are the benefits of a cat-back system?
It depends on what you want. Either way will make your truck sound alot better. Muffler shops can do it for alot cheaper then buying a catback kit. You won't notice as much gain in power with a shop custom making a cat back. The kit will be less restricted then a shop making one therefore you get more power from the kit. If you only care about the sound go to the shop. If you want a good sound and the most power you can get, get the cat back kit.
Q: My girlfriend has a 2001 Subaru Legacy. Recently one of her catalytic converters went bad. She now needs to get that system replaced. She was quoted $1,200 from a trusted mechanic. I was thinking, she s going to have to put a good amount of money into this thing already, are there any options to just replace the whole exhaust with a freer flowing one? Hoping to get that and an intake and hopefully get a little more power out of the car. The only thing is, neither of us want it to be loud. In fact, the way it sounds now is perfect but I understand that a better exhaust may be a bit louder. What s can we get that is less restricting but not a whole lot louder that also is in about the same price range?
Er no. You aren't going to get any more power out of 14 year old car with air filters and exhaust pipes. Save your money for the timing belt.
