Q: I was driving it today and to go from 30-55mph, I had to nearly floor it. It is a 2.0L engine that I bought today (February 19th, 2008). Otherwise the car is in pretty solid condition. Also, the gas pedal is really loose, and I barely press it and I‘m moving. Basically, I just want to have to push a little harder on the throttle to start moving, and not have it on the floor to drive at highway speeds.Thanks: Most stock engines that have been well maintained will run quite well enough without a lot of performance parts added, I wouldn't recommend high flow exhaust for that car unless you just love the pissed off weed eater on steroids sound. it won't give you any more power. I'd be looking at maintenance things like air / fuel filters, clogged fuel injectors, worn spark plugs etc

Q: I have a 2006 kawasaki zzr600, I want to improve the sound quality of my bike‘s exhaust. so if I buy a muffler will it improve sound quality or I have to buy full exhaust system?: Slip-on pipes are designed to enhance the sound and have small effect on performance. I have heard of people doing a slip on upgrade and needing to adjust air intake or carbs but it's rare. I would say go ahead and swap out the can and see how she runs. if you start backfiring and stuff like that, you'll need to make some adjustments up front. A full exhaust will require some adjustments to air intake and fuel delivery.

Q: I have a 1997 base 3.8 Camaro and Im looking to put some sort of aftermarket exhaust system in it to give it better sound and more horse power. I don‘t have a catalytic converter in it and I‘m wondering if i need one to have the exhaust put in? Thanks.: total waste of money if an exhaust system could give more power the manufacturers would fit it as standard, you have to balance it , rework the engine and reprogram the ECU to make any difference

Q: I want to put a new FULL (front to back) exhaust on my car but leaving the stock cats will just restrict the new pipes and getting bigger catalytic converters is just to expensive. im not worried about legalities.so what do the cats do??? do i need them???the exhaust will be true dual if it helps.: It's mandated to be there by Federal law. It helps to clean pollutants out of the exhaust system. In new cars it also helps set the computer to have the engine run at the most efficient level, not too rich nor too lean. In those states that require inspections, not having a working one in place is an automatic fail, but since you are not worried about legalities, none of this will affect you, up to the moment you get the fix it ticket and are not allowed to register your car without taking care of the problem

Q: If these are worn can they cause my exhaust to rattle?: Exhaust Hangers. Yes, it would cause the exhaust to rattle. Could be something loose somewhere in the exhaust causing the rattle like a bad gasket (some call them doughnut gaskets). Could even be a heat shield. There is usually a metal sheet that run above your exhaust to keep some of the heat from getting to car itself. These are really bad about rattling.

Q: what is the loudest exhaust system i can put on a car its a 1984 oldsmobile cutlass supreme?: I have used Rain-X and it works very well, however it seems to leave streaks.maybe doing something wrong in the application. Q: should I install aftermarket muffler?: How loud did you expect it to be? The Magnaflow is one of the best cat back systems you can get for the Mazda 6. It is one of the best sounding and best tuned systems aside from Injen and a handful of other select companies. Since you already have an entirely aftermarket system from Magnaflow, the mufflers are already aftermarket. In my opinion the last thing I would do is replace those units with something else on a full cat back exhaust. If you want your car to sound loud and drive you insane, take your mufflers off the 6 and see what happens. From experience with my Mazda 6, it should drive you mad. Of course, engine sound also depends greatly on which engine you have. The 2.3 I4 or the 3.0 V6. If you really wanted loud, you should have gone with Tanabe USA's system for the 6, which is basically one series of their mufflers modified to fit from the axle back. It would have saved you a lot of money too.

Q: k im getting my ninja 250 this month, and a guy told me to get a exhaust so my bike sounds louder and cars can notice me more (like two brothers, or yosh), and i was wondering will this hamper my bikes capabilities or increase it?? as well as will the exhaust really make a difference if a car notices me or not??: With some work a new exhaust system can make a difference to the performance of your bike –?often with jetting (carbs) or remapping (injection) and air intake. There is a benefit just from having a lighter weight exhaust – providing the fuelling isn’t affected, however the cheapest peformance mod is to change the sprockets. Cars will not necessarily notice you because of a loud exhaust, because soundwaves do not travel that way, pedestrians on the other hand will notice you – not always for the better. If you want to improve your safety, you have to take responsibility, do not rely on other road users, work on your observation and anticipation –?they will make you a better rider too.
