Q: eclipse aftermarket turbo back exhaust
Actually, it shouldn't require ANY cutting or welding. As we all know, when you order an exhaust system for your car, it's exactly that- For YOUR car. They are made vehicle specific. That means it's a direct bolt in. Trust me, I own(ed) a 1998 Eclipse GSX. Practically the same car, but mine was All Wheel Drive : ) I went through 3 different exhausts trying to get the sound I wanted. The good news for you is that someone already took off the stock exhaust, which means THEY are the ones that used the colorful language to get the stock bolts loose to get it off in the first place. Depending on how far they took the exhaust (cat-back, downpipe) it should be relatively easy to switch back to stock. I don't know why you would want to- you're going to lose a few horsepower and a little gas mileage, but yes, it can be done easily.
Q: Need to replace my entire exhaust system help?
If you get the whole setup, it is actually a pretty easy install. I would also replace the exhaust hangers. A tip when trying to get the exhaust in hangers: use WD 40 to lube the inside of them up and slide the hangers on. Have you received a quote from an exhaust place? Might not be as much as you thought, especially if you are in a bigger city.
Q: I want an exhaust thats nice and low-sounding for my del sol, not that annoying ricer sound. are they really nice and quiet? anything about these exhausts would help really. Thanks a bunch
Simply, NO Tanabe racing exhausts are not the low tone you are looking for. The tanabe medallion is very loud and will set off car alarms all around you. If you don't belive me I will send you my written violations for loud exhaust and disturbing the peace. I do not recommend them unless you want to be heard by everyone.
Q: i have a 2005 scion tc and i wanna make it sound mean. should i‘ve looked at cold air intakes but should i get that or an exhaust system or a muffler? i also want to make it fell like it has more power. would the cold air intake do that?
remove the catalytic converter and get a flowmaster super 44 performance muffler.
Q: I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 2.0L, the car was just purchased 2 weeks ago, and before that had stored winters and no rainy days so needless to say, the underside of the car is remarkably rust-free and clean. But being it was stored, the header pipe ended up coming apart at the steel mesh area. It is going to cost 175.99 plus installation for the new header pipe, or I can spend an extra 80 and buy a full Catback Exhaust System for it. Is this worth it? Or should I just buy the header pipe by itself? Keep in mind that I don‘t want to have to spend a ton of money on installation whether it be by me or a garage.
knee deep is correct in that it a cat back is truly from the catalytic converter to the tail pipe You said turbos as in 2 on your car WOW The whole spill with the X pipe is if you have a true dual exhaust up front on a V8 and two completely independent exhaust pipes that don't share any flow up to the the point of the X-pipe. It's design is to then assist with back pressure and flow at the same time. If your car is turbo charged, I'd let the turbo deal with the back pressure and make my exhaust a free flowing as possible to cut down on turbo lag. If your exhaust is restrictive it slows the flow and delays the spool up of the turbo. But let a engineer at some exhaust company determine whats best for you. Call around to several companies and you'll get a good idea on what you need
Q: I‘m not good at the internet and I need some help.I need to replace my entire exhaust system on a 1964 mercedes I‘m fixing up. the entire system is rusted out and I have some money and I want to repipe the entire thing, starting with the downpipe. I would take it to a muffler shop but it dont go anywhere because the carbs are pretty broke. What website can I put in my year and model car and see what my options are? I want stainless steel, and it‘s a straight-6 so I‘m not looking for a flowmaster or something for a muscle car because it aint no muscle car.thanks
Until the car is running it will not need the exhaust. I have purchased entire exhausts from place like JC Whitney including the catalytic converter and then it is a bolt up job. Be sure you get everything. There was a problem with one section being a thinner gauge than the rest. Much nicer to pay a muffler shop to do the whole job. They can have access to higher quality parts at a price.
Q: What is the difference between a cat back exhaust and a performance exhaust system?
Cat back is only half a$$ing it. the front portion of the exhaust system willstill be stock. If you want to get the most out of the other mods on the engine replace everything. I run all V8's and won't use anything less than 2 1/2 inch duals all the way.
Q: If its just all about relieving back pressure why can‘t someone design a system that is as quiet, or nearly as stock? Is it really out performing oem or does all that noise fool you into thinking your going faster. Sometimes it seems like little boys with the playing cards in the spokes on the bicycle. after all the power is made on the inside of an engine is‘nt it?
If my kids were there, them first, of course. Since I live alone, I would go for photos and records. Since I am a 9-1-1 supervisor I can tell you to forget all of the above (except your kids) and just get the hell out.
Q: Before you judge me this was told to a friend of mine about her Lancer. She was told not to buy one because the Lancer cannot stand up to Canadian winters and the exhaust would freeze solid which I didn‘t even think was possible. However I am not anywhere close to knowing anything about cars so I thought I would toss this out to people who do know. Are there any issues with the Lancer‘s exhaust during the cold? According to her the bigwig‘s in California refuse to understand how cold our winters can get. Not that bad in my opinion. Thanks!
The exhaust system is essentially just a steel pipe that takes the burnt gas fumes(exhaust) out of the motor so unless theres water or any other liquid inside the exhaust pipes its not freezing and if it were frozen the exhaust temperatures are very hot and would melt the water. Ever seen steam coming out of a car when its cold? Thats how it happens
Q: What is the best exhaust system for a LT250Ri have paul turner pipes on it now and the silencer is like 4 or 5 inches long lol.i need a good pipe for low end power.
The freer the better but my goal is gas mileage the The more the better. I have an 08 Corolla five spd and that dude really goes down hills in nutril.
