- Q: Im looking to put on a new exhaust to my 06 GMC Canyon im looking at either the cherry bomb glasspack, cherry bomb vortex, or a flowmaster. honestly im kind of a dumbass when it comes to trucks and all those sorts of things so i want an experienced person to give me some advice on what i should purchase!!
- One system I like, its on my 95 Tahoe. Came out of catalytic converter with 3 pipe, to a 3 inlet on Flowmaster, back end of Flowmaster continued with 3 tail pipe all the rest of the way. Sounds really good, and half the price of dual exhaust system.
- Q: How the hydraulic system is exhausted
- The method of removing is usually to open the exhaust of the hydraulic cylinder, so that the hydraulic cylinder slow action, and observe whether the exhaust device exhaust air, until there is no air so far, fitted with exhaust plug, repeated 1 to 3 times. Some hydraulic cylinders do not have exhaust, so long as the hydraulic cylinder action 3 to 5 times. It is also possible to press the head at the highest point of the pipe to open the exhaust, as in the hydraulic unit.
- Q: my buddy has a 90's subaru there is a small hole somewhere in the exhaust and every time the engine is reved it sounds like he's got a turbo under the hood where on the exhaust system would this hole be to make this sign
- I've just completed 2 rebuilds of exhaust on 2 different cars. The most common areas for holes to check: 1) See if there's a flex pipe off the headers coming off the engine. This part vibrates a lot and bends as the engine moves so it can wear down. I replaced one of these for about $90 myself. It's just held in by 4 nuts and a couple of gaskets. Easy fix that my local mechanic wanted to charge $350 for. 2) Check all the flanges to see if they have loosened or corroded. I have seen a lot of these rust out right where the weld of the flange meets the pipe. 3) Check the hangers. The metal hangers are welded on the pipe to hang them under the car and the weld weakens the pipes at the weld so they can give out more easily. You may need to get some jack stands and a set of ramps to get under the car easily and safely at home. My local Wal-Mart will do a fleet inspection for like $15 and may be able to see a hole if it's obvious if you don't want to get dirty. I just got the tools and did it myself. I saved a lot of money and now I have the tools for future use. My total bill was going to be $650 for a complete repair and I did it all for about $200 with all new parts. (Advance Auto Parts is my fav parts store, best prices I've found)
- Q: I have an 06 Scion tC. I am looking to start adding parts to my tC, however, it looks like I am a little confused when it comes to which of the above to buy. I understand that an entire exhaust system will remove the stock pipes, guages, and muffler that my tC already has, but I am just looking for that aggressive sound. Would I need to replace the entire system in order to achieve that sound, or can I just got the inexpensive route and buy the muffler only? Would just the muffler give me some more HP? Would it increase or decrease gas mileage? Which is better longterm? Finally, I live in MA. I would like to get this system/muffler, but I also want to continue passing my car inspections. Which muffler/exhaust system would continue me to do so? Thanks in advance!
- First of all, if you want JUST more aggresive sound, changing the mufflers will be enough. It will give you a little bit of a performance boost, but only marginal compared to a whole new exhaust system. If you get a whole new one, it will give you a descent boost in HP, and sound even more aggresive. Its all about how much money you want to drop into it. I'd just start off with the muffler. Afterwards, if you arent satisfied, you can always get everything else too. Also, changing just the mufflers will not make you fail a safety inspection. If you get a whole new setup, it is legally required to have catalytic converters on it to drive it on the road. Hope this helps!
- Q: I have 1996 Eclipse Gs-t , 210 hp stock. Would it be more beneficial to get a cold air or a new exhaust ?? I have about $270 saved and I‘ve found both products that ARE in my price range. I just don‘t which to get.
- The exhaust will net you more HP the cold air intake is easily to fitt you weigh it up. I would go for the exhaust.
- Q: Am i just being a dumbass or is there a certain ‘type‘ or something of exhausts that sound louder?
- Get You some long tube headers. run 2.5 to 3 mandrel bent dual exhaust with an X or H pipe. X pipes flow a little better they say. Get a set of flowmaster outlaw race mufflers. They are straight through design. Then get whatever exhaust tips you prefer. That should sound like a stock car!
- Q: exhaust systems
- have to remove all the pipes from the engine header to the back, to complete changing to new exhaust 'system'
- Q: I have an 07 Subaru wrx and I just put on an aftermarket exhaust. I just noticed that when I first start the car there is more smoke than usual and the exhaust smells different. it‘s hard to explain but it‘s not burning oil or anything. it‘s like a richer smell of exhaust or I‘m not sure. can someone explain?
- What do you mean by aftermarket exhaust? There are a lot of parts to the exhaust, and lots of different options. Are you talking about the mufflers? Full catback? Downpipe (catless or catted)? Up pipe? Headers? If you got a catless downpipe, that's why your car smells now. No cat your exhaust stinks and pollutes a lot more.
- Q: ok ive been wondering this for awhile. I have looked at plenty of body kits for my mustang and have found really cool ones but was too afriad to buy them cause then i want to put an exhaust system on it but they have diffrent ones that come out the side and the back etc for instance the ones out the back the body kits that have the cutouts for the exhausts in the back will it basically fit all exhausts that go out the back? Same with the side ones like if it has one pipe cut out and i have a two pipe exhaust what would i have to do or would i have to find one that is for two pipes? thanks!
