Q: For my 2002 gti 1.8L 4 cyl My buddy says to find a full exhaust system for around $500/600 bucks, because they will give better performance or something like that. I found one on amazon for $150 then one on O‘riely that‘s like $490, they both kinda look the same but I want good quality, i also found some for like $999, and I can‘t spend over $500 on one. Some one tell me what‘s the difference and what should I go with? Thanks
I tend to go with FACTORY(as they bolt on and the holes match the studs VW Research Development Department tends to have more money to do best exhaust configuration Research than any custom exhaust garage. VW is no different than Chev or Ford (those are the companies with the money) so they do the research on every motor style. Then they choose the best one for that engine. Which would make sense; right? Otherwise they guess with every vehiclewhich is ludicrous. Sure, some clown with a pipe bender can make you an exhaust manifold and weld it up and spray paint it white or black or chrome But, they do not say invest $12,000 or more in designing it. They do not have the money nor the test faucilities to do that. They just bend pipe and weld it.and paint it. Theirs just makes more noise. Difference? Price. and advertising But they do not have the proof to back up their claims.
Q: I have a 2001 v6 ex honda accord. i want to make the exhaust a little louder but dont have the money to upgrade the exhaust system. any products i should buy? and where? also will putting in a cold air intake make it anylouder?
well first off, i think Hondas sound like a swarm of west Nile mosquitoes heading my way, not sure why anyone likes that sound, but the best ways to make it louder are to buy performance exhaust parts. The ones to look for are tubular headers, high flow catalytic converters, and high performance mufflers. flowmaster is one of the loudest brands out there. there is a way to make it even louder, but since you drive a Honda you are probably like most other Honda people and don't wanna do any actual work to your engine, just appearance enhancements. you could buy a camshaft to give your valves higher lift. although this often requires new valve springs as well. Im not sure if headers and cams are available for such small and underpowered engines, usually people use them on V8's. but it might be worth checkin out, just head over to auto zone, or advanced auto parts, they can tell you.
Q: It is an 02 cavalier ls coupe. I already have the short ram intake installed in it, but i would still like a few more horses on this slow car! I dont know much about these sorts of things anyways. If i buy a full catback exhausr system and have it installed would there be a noticable difference in the vehichles take off speed and performance? I know the car is not going to ever be real fast unless i do a total motor swap, but i cant afford that. And my second question is what if I just buy the 4 in exhaust pipe and have it welded on? would that now be as efficient as the total catbak put on my cargt; or does it not really make a difference? And if I buy the catbak system off ebay what kind do i need to buy? I cant afford anything from a shop so please do not suggest that. I also cant afford another car at all so do not say get a better/faster car either. and my third question: should i get headers instead of the mods i have mentionedgt; if so what all do i need to buy? Detailed advice please!
no, the length of the pitman arm is what controls that.
Q: How much would it cost for a basic exhaust ( pipes and muffler )? A mid-level exhaust? The best exhaust system? Explain the difference in quality, performance, and how long each can last.
It all depends. The first thing that's important in picking an exhaust is what metal it's made of. 304 stainless steel is one of the better metals to have and often times they are covered by million mile or similar warranties. 409 stainless steel is cheaper but be warned that 409 is more likely to rust but may still hold a 10 year warranty. Aluminized steel is about as cheap as it gets but it's even more likely to rust than 409 and may have as much as a 3 year warranty from what I've seen. I would estimate most mufflers will set you back around $100-150 for stainless and $50-75 for aluminized. I got my Magnaflow for $90 with some luck at advance auto during a sale.
Q: i cannot find a dual exhaust system anywhere for my 99 tahoe! i want something loud with an aggressive sound, not something loud and obnoxious.
Try Gibson exhaust or Flowmaster exhaust
Q: I have a 2008 Honda CRF250R.It has stock exhaust at the moment.I was thinking of getting an aftermarket exhaust system.I am looking for more power and for it to be louder, as I have no sound limit for the MX track I own. Will a single or Dual muffler give me more power and noise?PLEASE CAN NOBODY GET CRAPPED OFF AT ME FOR WANTING A LOUD MUFFLER! I OWN MY OWN MX TRACK! NOBODY LIVES ANYWHERE NEAR IT AND THERE IS NO NOISE RESTRICTIONS!!!ANYBODY WHO TELLS ME THAT I SHOULD GET A QUIET MUFFLER SHOULD BE SHOT BECAUSE I AM MAKING IT VERY CLEAR THAT NOBODY CARES IF THERE IS LOUD BIKES WHERE I RIDE!!!!!!
Nope, the tires are about a week or two older than your truck.
Q: I want an exhaust thats nice and low-sounding for my del sol, not that annoying ricer sound. are they really nice and quiet? anything about these exhausts would help really. Thanks a bunch
Simply, NO Tanabe racing exhausts are not the low tone you are looking for. The tanabe medallion is very loud and will set off car alarms all around you. If you don't belive me I will send you my written violations for loud exhaust and disturbing the peace. I do not recommend them unless you want to be heard by everyone.
Q: Looking to Mod a Nissan Sentra :). Should I do the whole performance exhaust system or just do the muffler swap and exhaust tip? Just dont want it to be expensive.BQ: Will the cops make a big deal of this?
I put a Magnaflow catback exhaust system on my Sentra about 4 years ago. It actually has a bit of a deep tone to it, but it's still pretty loud. I have noticed some performance gain, but not a lot. The system was $350, which is pretty expensive, for me at least. As for the BQ: I live in California and have never been pulled over for my exhaust. So, you should have no issue.
Q: What is the difference between a cat back exhaust and a performance exhaust system?
The difference is that a cat back is s one piece OE replacement that replaces everything behind the cat. converter. Which is were it gets it;s name. While a performance exhaust generally replaces the entire exhaust system.
Q: which is better for saving gas, an exhaust system or a muffler ?? which kind of muffler or exhaust system ?
The exhaust system could get u probably save u a tiny bit of gas not much probably none a muffler tip just adds style and sound
