Q: what is a catback exhaust system?
a cat back exhaust is when they replace all components of the exhaust from the catalytic convertor all the way to the back of the car.
Q: I am looking at getting an x pipe and exhaust system. Is a bbk catted x pipe and American Thunder catback by flowmaster a good setup?
It seems to be a good choice of performance exhaust parts. An X-pipe will make more power than the stock H-pipe and the high flow cats will outflow the stock ones while keeping it legal and the engine running as it should. Flowmaster has always been a great exhaust brand and their Super 44 or 40 series mufflers sound awesome. I have the older 40 series on my own Mustang and I have no complaints of how great it sounds. You will get about 10-15 HP just bolting on that X-pipe and an aftermarket exhaust with no other mods.
Q: i dont know too much but. i know there are the headers, some h/x pipe and the tips i guess. :[can someone tell me in better terms than i describe and if i missed anything?
on the side of the engine you have an exhaust manifold with a pipe coming out from the piston ports. Usually four ports blend into one pipe and on a V-8 eight ports blend into two pipes which come under the car to one or two(depending on how many exhaust pipes) catalytic converters that aid in environmental cleanup of the fumes. From there extension pipes lead to the muffler(s) and then another extension goes out the back or side of the vehicle; often times to a tuned exhaust tip. Some racers incorporate an exhaust cutout in the system before the catalytic converter to divert the gasses to a straight pipe for higher horsepower. This is a loud, usually illegal modification but winning is everything in the streets. All this is suspended from the car by a series of U shaped bolts and nuts attached to rubber connectors and the body of the vehicle; and there are gaskets at the manifold to prevent noisy blowby at the manifold.
Q: Can the three-dimensional model of the car exhaust system be found?
did you find it? I also need it
Q: Listing says Brand New TOP SPEED PRO-1 Dual Catback Exhaust System in Polished Stainless Steel with TIG Welding with 100mm Tips / 60mm Piping - Under 97db sound level with Silencers (Silencers Included) / No C.A.R.B Exempt for California Customers. What does No C.A.R.B Exempt for California Customers mean? I live in California BTW lol
The pictured system does not include a catalytic converter. Unless a converter is located on the engine pipe (upstream of the long pipe shown) installing this exhaust system would eliminate the converter. Converters oxidize unburned hydrocarbons and convert CO to CO? thereby improving air quality. The pictured exhaust system would not meet emission standards in many other States as well. (CARB is California Air Resources Board). The pictured system will not improve engine performance, (the splitter is too far from the outlet) but will attract Police attention due to excess noise. If changing your exhaust note is the objective, you can simply replace the existing muffler. If this is unclear, update your question. Please choose a best answer from among those you get.
Q: 1998 C280 catalytic converter rattling. Must entire exhaust system need to be replaced?
No. In most cases the catalytic converter can be replaced alone. The old one can come off either by bolts holding it on to a flange at both ends. Or a muffler shop can cut it off and weld a new converter in its place.
Q: hi, im concerned about getting the exhaust system because im going to sell the car in the future and would the exhaust system change peoples mind about buying the car? Thanks
It will narrow who will purchase the car to a younger person who likes the performance sound. An older person like your parents who may have the money and credit to get it off your hands in the future will not get the vehicle. That same performance sound will translate to them as noise when they are coming and a drone inside the cabin when they are going. A car dealership notorious for not giving much of anything for a trade in, will dock you for even more because it is an aftermarket replacement to a manufactured part. I would recommend you keep the stock system on and save your money.
Q: 99 F150 5.4 triton v8
Magnaflw makes very good exhaust systems. They are known for quality and good sound. Go to their website and you can hear the way they sound. As far as trucks go, the Titan on there sounds better than any other truck. 339ci big block oh yeah. The chevy 8.1 sounds like crap. Slow to rev.
Q: I need a relatively cheap performance exaust system for my 1995 Buick Century. Not too cheap that it will be crap, but not way too expensive that I would have to make payments on it for the next 10 years lol.I'm only 17 so I can't afford something uberly expensive. The reason I'm asking you guys is because I'm sure you know 30 times as much as I do about cars.
For future reference, my auto mechanics teacher gave me this advice, whenever you scrape the frost/ice off youre window make sure you lift up youre wipers to get them unstuck before turning them on, Never turn your wipers on to clear snow off your windsheild unless you know they arent stuck.
Q: I want to buy an exhaust system for my jeep wrangler?
if u had a rwd u wouldnt have to worry about that but i agree with that ring thing the other guy said
