- Q: I wanted to buy a cat back exhaust system for my honda accord but i DO NOT want to get one of those fart can mufflers that everyone hates.can someone explain to me what exactly is a fart can and how can i tell it is one on the internet? and if anyone knows any good exhaust systems that are not too expensive?
- Go to midas and tell them you don't want a fart can. They are about the best.
- Q: i have a 2007 chevy avalanche lt and i need to know what the tightest sounding, deep, rumbling exhaust system is that makes peoples heads turn and say wow i wish i was that cool. hahaha. Can anyone hook me up?? Thanks (price does kindof matter)
- Noise doesn't make you cool, but for the avalanche it can already be a cool looking vehicle especially if you tint the windows and get some nice custom wheels and tires. As far as the exhaust I really like a turbo style muffler, get dual exhaust and put echo chambers on the ends of the exhaust for a really deep mellow dont screw with me growl.
- Q: I just bought a 2003 audi a6 2.7 twin turbo. I wanted to buy a new exhaust to make the car really loud, but i don‘t know much about exhaust systems. I was wondering if i have to buy the whole exhaust system or are there certain parts that you can buy that‘ll make the car loud without spending as much as you would buying the whole system
- nope my front tire on mine harley lasted 630 carefree miles. Then I installed Bridgestone Battleaxes, and never had another problem With the tires
- Q: Since i want to gain some horse power, I‘m attempting to install exhaust system and cold air intake to my 2007 civic si coupe. But i‘m just worried if they harm my car‘s durability. I heard some stories that cold air intakes make some problem when its raining, because the water percolates through the intake to engine. And i‘m worried if installing new exhaust system does that kind of thing too. Is it okay to install those??
- Exhaust virtually has no effect it is a percentage thing, you probably make 140 horse 3% increase is 4 horse if that, the cold air intake will gain about 5-8 horse on that type of car,so.is it really worth it?
- Q: I am wanting to add as much power to my 1990 v6 camaro as possible WITHOUT going to a v8. I was wondering what would be the best exhaust system for me to get, that would still be quiet, because I love stealth. Where would be a good place to get it from, will I need both the muffler and headers, and would I be able to have it customized with a different exhaust tips welded on?
- I wouldn't get too carried away with headers and everything unless you really like this car and plan to mod it further. Anyways, I think headers might be a bit of overkill for a near stock 3.1 V6. I'd go with a cat-back dual exhaust system with some noise reducing turbo mufflers if you prefer it to be quiet. That wouldn't cost you too much and you'll pick up some extra ponies. I'm surprised you don't want it to have a more prominent sound with a new exhaust system. If you want more power, also look into a cold air intake and a high voltage ignition system. A centrifugal supercharger would give your V6 lots of additional power and torque.
- Q: Best and loudest exhaust system for Ferrari 360?
- No one will feel any joy by hearing it all people will feel is disgust for the idiot behind the wheel.
- Q: Would this exhaust system sound like rice?
- The rice sounding exhaust isn't from the exhaust, it's from the size and configuration of the engine. What that means is, a 2.2L inline 4 cylinder will sound like all the other 2.2L inline 4 cylinders with the same exhaust on them. So, no matter what you do, your 4 cylinder will always sound like a 4 cylinder. The sound of the exhaust comes from the degrees of crankshaft rotation between each power (exhaust) pulse. That's why V8's sound similar, V10's sound similar, V12's sound similar.
- Q: the car has a sr20det engine with of course loud *** exhaust **** sytem me personaly dont like it unless its on v8 engineswhat can i do to silence the exhaust system without loosing power any ideas thanks
- They weld them. Even though you think it's not loud enough, it will never sound like a V8. It will just sound like a v6 farting real loud. It's a really nice car, don't junk it up with silly add ons.
- Q: on a 2007 V- DUB Golf
- I agree with the abovea few HP, not very much. There is no power inside a muffler, especially a cat-back one. The most power would come from no muffler whatsoever. So really all you're doing is getting rid of some restrictions. You have to look at a car's power train as one long tube, with an opening at one end and an opening (exit) at the other. The one end is your intake, the middle is your engine and the exit is your exhaust. If you just open up the back end and don't do anything to the front end, you really can't accomplish a great deal. But it'll sound good and you might get a little better throttle response.at least you'll think it has more power but on a dyno---I think 4 to 10 HP at high RPM is the best you'll do---presuming you have a large displacement engine. On a little 1.6 liter engine, maybe half that.
- Q: which is better for saving gas, an exhaust system or a muffler ?? which kind of muffler or exhaust system ?
- Omigosh i can't believe it takes a girl to come in here and explain this. A muffler is not going to do anything except slightly alter the sound of your exhaust. I don't really know anything about fuel efficiency because I've always been more concerned with gaining power vs. saving gas. However, I would think that the same rules apply. you will have to change your exhaust and your intake systems. If you put a more restrictive exhaust system on your car, with the original intake, you will have the same amount of air coming in with less room for it to escape, hence limiting your power. Going the other way (larger exhaust) is just as bad. To swap out both the intake and exhaust for quality systems, you are looking at easily spending $700+. And I highly doubt that any of that work will save you that much money in gas, so I just say leave it alone.
