Q:Right now im thinking about getting a full Bassani SS Exhaust system [ Bassani SS Axle-back, Bassani SS Catalytic X-Pipe,and Bassani Longtube Headers], i got a quick glimpse on what the SS axle-back will sound like and i like it, but i might be looking for more does anybody have any idea what kind of exaust setup i should get? im looking for something with a deep aggressive sound to them something to get my blood pumping everytime i step on the gas and that will bring some attention to other ppl when i drive by?
bassani's sound good for quality, reliability, price and sound go with the flowmasters or magnaflow
Q:I am buyin it from a friend who recently bought an aftermarket exhaust system for his car.
I would never buy a used exhaust system myself, but if you are looking to save some money it would be an alternative. If it's in good shape, I say about $75 tops.
Q:They will be for a 2008 HD Road King. I‘m not looking to shake windows in my neighborhoodjust something louder than stock. I‘ve been looking at Cobra slip on‘s.
No, you can't solder them together. Soldering temperatures are too low to be able to successfully bond copper to iron (galvanized steel pipe.) In addition, water will help conduct a small electrical charge to flow between the 2 metals, and eventually, the iron pipe will completely corrode through. This is called a 'galvanic cell', due the different electron potentials of copper and iron. It actually works like a very low voltage battery - and the iron turns to rust. You can do a couple of things. The best solution is to insert a 'dielectric union' in between both pipes. This union has one side which is brass and the other side is galvanized iron - with a rubber washer in between to isolate the two metals. These are commonly used on hot water tank installations. You can buy a sweat solder type, or a threaded type of dielectric union. You can also install a short brass nipple (about 6 long) with a coupling between the two pipes. The brass is compatible with the copper, but will also protect the galv iron pipe from corroding. Either method is allowable per the plumbing code. Good luck.
Q:I was looking at an aluminized exhaust system for my 1997 GMC k1500 and i was just wondering if that tends to rust? I was wondering so if it does i could paint it with the high temp paint from duplicolor before i put it on my truck to keep it from rusting as bad. Thanks!
The aluminizing is supposed to prevent rust however a can of duplicolor is like $5 so you may as well paint it though it won't help much if it rusts from the inside out. Aluminized stuff should last fairly long though whenever you can get it I'd recommend spending extra for stainless, real aluminum or titanium. I work with metal a lot and a lot of steels rust overnight, I'd hate to have anything with that kind of property in my exhaust whether it's aluminized or not.
Q:i have a stock suspension and i want to buy the Banks Monster exhaust system but i heard for the gibsons the exhausts fit differently for those wranglers with lift and those without. i dont want to buy the Banks and then not be able to install it cuz i dont have a lift or change the exhaust system after i get a lift.
You can fit 31s in there, but if you offroad you will stuff the tires in the wheelwells. If you want to go bigger, consider getting a $200 Budget Boost, which will give you a little more suspension clearance. The 31s will then clear easily, and you may be able to put 32s under there (but again you'll stuff them when you offroad). Also keep in mind the strength of your axle and the size of your engine. If you have a 2.5L engine, the bigger tires will cost you in power and highway speed.
Q:i will like to buy my car an exhaust system. which exhaust system you recommend and why ?
BORLA the best in the world
Q:Exhaust system problems, the appearance does not appear, the instrument shows fault
Landlord what you say is the exhaust system of the equipment.
Q:Can i use a merged exhaust system without a cat or muffler, on my 1600cc vw aircooled and be street legal?
No the merged system simply collects all the exhaust gasses and ports them out in a single location. You need to attach a muffler to that (not a cat. converter since the old VW's predate that requirement). Without the muffler, the bug is REALLY loud (which will get you the wrong type of attention) and there may not be sufficient back pressure on the valves. .
Q:Black 1998 Honda Prelude 100% stock.
Leave it stock. With exhaust you will only gain about 5hp if that much at all. Also your car will sound like a lawn mower and just cause people to laugh at you. Exhaust is for mostly sound. That's why all the v8 guys do it. But they do it because it sounds nice on a v8
Q:just the muffler tip or the whole exhaust system?
yes it does. you are going from an enclosed stock air box to an open air filter.
