Q:i just want a good exhaust system and a good cold air intake system for my car to get more power and mileage and just want to know which brands are good. I was looking at a Spyder cold air intake for $68.87.
There is no best. The exhaust systems are just a slightly bigger than stock piping with a different muffler for sound. So just pick one with the sound you like. A cold air intake is the same thing. It's just a couple feet of piping that pulls air from the fender and tricks the maf into thinking it its flowing more air than it does to lean out the mixture and make a little more power. It doesn't make a difference what the name on the pipe is or the color of it so just pick one and enjoy the 2 HP you may or may not get.
Q:I‘m thinking about putting a dc sports exhaust on my 07 focus se sedan but I‘m not sure if a dc exhaust will fit.any help is appreciated
Do you mean just the muffler, catback, or full exhaust system? There are attachments where you can buy stuff to make the muffler to fit. You have to find out what diameter your exhaust pipe is, find out the diameter of the muffler and then figure out what attachment you need to get a snug fit on both and clamp it down or weld it on. If it's a catback system, or a full exhaust then you need to look up on finding one to match your specific car.
Q:something that improves hp, fuel mileage, and something thats loud
It includes TRD CAT-BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM. ( Price $535/- more) which is already installed. If you place something else then the genuine one it makes terribly difficult siation for you. I think you should go with the above one. Have a nice day. :-)
Q:I own a 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT. I absolutely love my vehicle but I would like to make some changes to it. I‘m not very familiar with how a new exhaust system works or how much it will cost me, for that matter. Basically, I would like my car to be louder and sound meaner if it‘s possible. I have been told to get a new exhaust system, perhaps a dual? I have also been told about Cherry Bombs, but I‘m not sure i even know what they are. I would love to make my car louder but I‘ve been read these changes can cause a lose of torque/power. Is this true? If I can do this, what is an estimate it will cost? Help.
I paintings at a Chrysler Jeep stay clean of dealership: a pal of mine owns an Avenger. Its inventory except for rims and an exhaust line. He opted for the Borla, and the sound is stunning. no longer American V8 impressive, yet impressive though. both are solid selections although.
Q:really, what are the main differences and why is one better than the other? Which will gain more power, and have a better exhaust note? I have a 2000 toyota Celica gt if it helps
Catback and Axelback is just telling you where the exhaust system begins from. If you want greater power, you will need a bigger pipe starting from the headers all the way back as that allow more air flow which in turn allows for more fuel to burn and pressure to build. If you just want better sound, you want to look for exhaust with big baffles since they are what affect the sound in the exhaust. Hope this helps you.
Q:Can a whole exhaust system from a 89 chevy 1500 flatbed fit on a 83 toyota pickup?
As sure as the driveshaft from that same truck will fit a '83 Cadillac El Dorado.
Q:What is a CAT-BACK exhaust system?
That's a term used when you replace the exhaust system from the catalytic converter all the way back to the tailpipe, but not the cat itself. This would include the muffler and tailpipe, contrary to one of the answers below.
Q:Was gonna get dual exhaust system - but I‘m thinking of just getting a performance muffler on my stock single exhaust as its significantly cheaper and I like the sound clip the shop showed me,but is that okay? will people make fun of me that its not dual? will it still be cool?
While I don't really have anything against V6 mustangs. I'd still personally I'd laugh at anyone trying to mod a pre-2011 V6 like it will do anythingsince anyone who does try really just shows how little they actually know about the car they have. Anybody who knows anything about mustangs knows those 3.8L's are only good for half decent gas mileage and nothing more. The engines were never designed for performance and so unless you feel like spending a fortune to rebuild the entire engine first putting duals or performance anything on them is waste of time and money Plus I know from personal experience that they DO NOT like high speeds as the front end on the 94-04 ones tends to get light at about 100MPH (and they are usually limited to 115 anyway) so really there is just no upside to doing anything more with the old V6's but just drive it, don't crash it, and get a GT or something w/ a V8 when you can better afford it (and the insurance)
Q:Went in for an oil change and the mechanic said my exhaust system was gonna go at some point; said it wasn t a matter if if, but rather when. He suggested I just keep driving it till it goes. I drive a 97 Subaru Outback and spent over a grand last year to replace blown head gaskets. My question is how much does an exhaust system replacement actually cost and is if worth it to have replaced? Also how will I know when it goes, will this cause me to be stuck out on the road somewhere or worse yet could it cause an accident if it falls off when I m driving?
it only helps if you're anemic- if you don't have enough iron in your blood.
Q:How much would it cost for a basic exhaust ( pipes and muffler )? A mid-level exhaust? The best exhaust system? Explain the difference in quality, performance, and how long each can last.
It all depends. The first thing that's important in picking an exhaust is what metal it's made of. 304 stainless steel is one of the better metals to have and often times they are covered by million mile or similar warranties. 409 stainless steel is cheaper but be warned that 409 is more likely to rust but may still hold a 10 year warranty. Aluminized steel is about as cheap as it gets but it's even more likely to rust than 409 and may have as much as a 3 year warranty from what I've seen. I would estimate most mufflers will set you back around $100-150 for stainless and $50-75 for aluminized. I got my Magnaflow for $90 with some luck at advance auto during a sale.
