TPW is an ideal substitute for normal pumps like SG and D multistage centrifugal pumps
Q: The actual way to move water (liquid) from a pond with small bits of debris. Trying to find out which system is the most efficient: vane, impeller, rotary, centrifugal...etc...either by hand or using a bicycle to turn the pump. I do NOT want to use an engine or electric motor. I've read about the transfer pumps in the hardware store are only about 50% efficient, I need something better that will provide me a continuous output. Something lightweight that will handle pressure. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!
Although you may not think of it as a continuous source, an ancient Noria water wheel is quite effective and can be leveraged with gears and ratchets. The continuous flow is acheived by transferring the water to a reservoir at a higher elevation from which the water at a constant known pressure determined by the elevation can be drawn, excess water can be overflowed, regulating the pressure so long as the draw is less than the average delivery of water. Early mines were cleared of water with Norias as pumps could not pull beyond atmospheric pressure.
Q: 1998 Honda civic water pump plastic or metal inside (OEM)?
Water pumps are metal including the frame, the water pulley, and the fins on the other side. Plastic fins would not be ideal as it would spin constantly and come in contact with hot coolant for the duration your engine is on. Eventually, it would soften, bend and become insufficient in pushing and circulating coolant throughout your engine. Hope this helps!
Q: i need the location of the water pump or for the thermostat thank you
The water pump is timing belt driven and is under the plastic timing cover on passenger side. These water pumps have a history of breaking, due to the fact they have a plastic impeller and it shears off the shaft, which causes the engine to overheat. First you want to remove the thermostat and then check the water pump. Follow the lower radiator hose to where it connects to the engine. That flange is where the thermostat is at. After you remove the thermostat you can shine a light in the hole and put your finger in there, if the impellar of the water pump moves, it needs to be replaced. If it does, then you might as well replace the timing belt and tensioner, seeing how you have to remove it to get the water pump off.
Q: does water pump sealers work?
If your talking about the water pump for a car it doesn't have any pumps those would be the radiator pumps that are connected to the water pump and transmission which keeps the radiator and transmission at a temperature that keeps the vehicle from over heating. If you have a overheating car and a mechanic told you your water pump has a leak then sorry you would have to replace the water pump but just don't go to a popular mechanic for that because it can get really expensive do your research and find you someone with a garage it cheaper because the part itself is not that expensive it putting it in that cost lol. Hope this helps.
Q: Is the water lamp in the basement water pump fluorescent or waterproof?
Not ordinary fluorescent lamp, it is waterproof and explosion-proof fluorescent lamp. And the PE protection line must be added
Q: What is the difference between self-priming and non self suction?
The self-priming condition of the centrifugal pump is that a small water tank is attached to the pump body. Don't use water every time you start. No suction, no water tank. And the use of volumetric Self-priming pumps, such as car cleaning, high-pressure pumps are in this category.
Q: it was fine before the water pump was done garage says it is just a coincidence? but could the water pump effect the heating?
What is not working about your heater? Is the air blowing, but it's not warm air? Or is the air not blowing at all? The air not blowing is not related to the water pump. The air not getting warm very well could be related to the water pump. The water pump pushes water all throughout the cooling system- including the heater core- which is where you get your warm air from for your heater. Try what was suggested about running it a while with the radiator cap off to bleed out all air. If that doesn't help, I'd find another mechanic to look at it for you and take their findings back to the folks that put the water pump on. (as a heads up, this also could be an air blend door, which switches the air flow in your car from hot to cold. These doors can get stuck and not give you the air you desire. This would not be water pump related.) :)
Q: I have a 2002 honda civic with 85k miles the dealer says the timing belt should be replaced. But with the water pump timing belt tensioner also have to be replaced???
It relies upon on the vehicle, in diverse fashions, like maximum mitsubishis, you could desire to take the timing belt off to alter the water pump. So then that is an included operation and there is not any extra suitable value linked with the exertions to do the timing belt, it merely makes it a handy, value saving time to do it. there is not any rule approximately changing water pumps and timing belts at the same time. If that is not an included operation there is not any element to do them on a similar time. The timing belt is physically powerful preventative upkeep yet there is not any might desire to alter the water pump previously that is showing signs and indicators, and there are a brilliant style of them, that that is going to die.
Q: Can someone please post a picture of how to find a Water Pump on a 1992 Dodge Spirit with a K2.5L Engine, it would be much appreciated. :)
not a bad idea to post your question in the boating section, considering that us boaters are smarter than most, but you'll probably have a better chance of resolving your problem if you post it in the automotive repair section.
