TPW is an ideal substitute for normal pumps like SG and D multistage centrifugal pumps
Q: Every year my family spends a week on a house boat at Lake Powell where it can get extremely hot in the day time. I'd like to build a mist system using pvc pipes and mist spray heads to help cool us down.I'm not sure what kind of water pump to buy? I've looked at different kinds from submersible to non-submersible, all with different amounts of PSI and GPM. I am not familiar with water pumps and could use some community insight.I want to make sure the pump I get does not burn out because of the back pressure it will get due to the mist heads only allowing a little water to escape at a time.I imagine my mist system would have 8 - 12 heads, reaching no more then 30 feet from water source to the end.Any pointers? Thanks!
I am assuming your water source will be the lake …. I would be looking at a submersible pump possibly a pond pump but you need to know what the “lift” is going to be …from the point where you string the mister to the pump {possibly a 15 foot lift} and a pump that will give you at least 25psi. Because you are going to have back pressure, the submersible will reduce the risk of burn out. Also you need to build a simple enclosed container this pump can sit in, with at least a 4”water inlet hole covered with mosquito netting, nylon hosiery, or something to filter the water….otherwise you will constantly be removing the mister heads to clean
Q: I keep having to add water to. Doesn't do anything when it's sitting up. But after you drive it straight for about 25 minutes. Time to add some more water. I figure it's the water pump. It's not leaking anywhere so it has to be a failing water pump. Oil still looks good, no smoking. AC and heater blows fine. Just runs hot after a while. I need another opinion. Its the 4 cylinder also. And yes it does be steaming. Tired of having to add water everyday.
Forget the check this and try that stuff. You need a RADIATOR SHOP the radiator is plugged and you can do nothing to clean it. Don't waste time on flushing as it is a waste. Water pumps have mechanical seals and require no lubrication and anti freeze contains no lubrication material. Plain water will not affect the pump. Never replace any part 'till you KNOW the problem
Q: i have a 2000 chevy malibu (i know it sucks) i fixed the intake manifold gaskets (upper and lower) thermostat and its still leaking and sometimes overheating. my next thought is its the water pump. there's no crack in the radiator or hoses is there anything else that can cause it to overheat besides these. what about vacuum leakage? o2 sensors?
Have the system pressure checked that will show U where the leak is.
Q: The pond is 10' long x 2' wide x 1' deep. The pump is at one end and water is raised 1' to a buried garden hose that is maybe 12' long and then at the end it goes up 2' to release the water over some rocks. I had a 330 gph pump that worked well but died. That size has been discontinued. Go smaller or bigger? DON
Hi Don, In my point of view it depend on the final effect that you want to create. If you are in the mood of water theraphy, mean that you like to the sound of the water fall, you may want to consider a pump size that a bit higher than your previous ones, and vice versa. In a nutshell you should be able to determine the effect of the waterfall you need since you already have your previous old pump running before. This should be your best guideline to check the size of your new pump needs. There is a bit of extra caution needed if you are thinking of using a bigger size of pump, you should ensure that the pump are not sucking to fast of the water. If this is the case you might be end up having your pond drain half tank. You can get the circle time for the water flow base on the pump size from the catalog.I'm sure your hardware guy are gladly assist you in understanding the matrix conversion Pond size over the pump size, since I can't explain in detail here about the graph reading. But in most cases I just relatively using the first option of comparing the old pump size with the new one. Hope that help. Fazla
Q: What are the new regulations in the design of main and auxiliary water bin and water pump room in coal mine?
The main water bin must have a main bin and an auxiliary warehouse. When a sump is cleaned, another water tank can be used normally. When the normal water inflow is below 1000m3/h, the effective capacity of the main water tank should be able to accommodate the normal discharge of 8h.The effective capacity of the main water bin can be calculated by pressing type in the mine where the normal water inflow is greater than 1000m3/h:V = 2 (Q+3000)Effective capacity of V-- main water bin in type m3;Q-- mine hourly normal water inflow, m3.However, the total effective capacity of the main water storage tanks shall not be less than the normal water inflow of 4h.The effective capacity of the water tank in the mining area shall be able to accommodate the normal water inflow in the 4H mining area. There is a big difference between the maximum water inflow and the normal water inflow in the mine. The drainage capacity and the water storage capacity should be specially designed. The water inlet chamber should be set up. A sedimentation tank shall be provided for the filling of water sand, hydraulic coal mining and other gushing water with a large amount of impurities. The water storage capacity of short positions must often remain above 50% of total capacity.
Q: I have a quot;Rainbow Lifeguard Quiet One 6000external pump that I would like to use on a new chiller for my tank. The pump is rated at a little over 1500 gallons per hour. I'm debating between a couple of chillers, one that has a max flow rate of 1300 gph and another that has a max of 960.I know that you are only supposed to put any valves on the outflow side of the pump and lessening the flow to 1300 from 1500 doesn't seem like it would be that big of a problem, but I was curious it cutting it back to 960 would be hard on the pump in the long run. (I'm leaning towards the bigger chiller as although it may be overkill for my tank, it would let me have a little more water circulation.)
ditto to magic
Q: Even when all water is shut off in the camper, my water pump keeps running. Even when the tank is completely empty. Does anyone know what is causing this?
I might be miss-understanding your question. If you have no water in the tank then the pump will run all the time because you won't build enough pressure in the system to shut it off. There should be a switch to turn it off manually. If your system has water in it and pump still won't shut off then it could be several different things: 1. Pump is bad and leaking internally... do you have good pressure at the faucet? 2. There should be a pressure cut-out switch somewhere near the pump. This switch should shutoff the pump when the ideal pressure is reached and prevent the pump from over pressurizing the system. Make sure it is not stuck closed. (May have to remove to test) Check for continuity across the terminals with pressure with the pressure on and off. If it doesn't' change... replace. 3. You could have a leak somewhere in the system not allowing the system to build pressure. 4. There may be a pressure relief valve somewhere in the system that is stuck open and dumping your pressure back into the suction side of the pump. Good Luck!
Q: Do you need a stop valve for the pump at home?
Must be connected, in the low-end water pipe, the valve is also called the bottom valve is to prevent the intrusion of water, at the same time, but also to ensure the pump again next time when starting the pump and piping in enough water to prevent idling.
Q: The difference between submersible pumps and centrifugal pumps
The two are different ways of distinguishing.Centrifugal pump is in accordance with the impeller type of a pump, that is, centrifugal pump impeller is centrifugal.Submersible pump refers to its working environment is underwater, it is divided by the application environment, it can also be centrifugal pump or axial flow pump or mixed flow pump, the key is to see what kind of impeller is.Submersible pump motor is required to dive, that is, the motor protection level is relatively high, generally more than IP68 in order to dive.
Q: the question i have is can the pump be turning and not leaking but not pump water??? i know the olden days (the good ole days) as long as the impeller was turning it would pump water! leaking seal is when it went bad,or locked up..like a box fan blade as long as it is turning its moving air...
Why not check the flow of coolant in your radiator. When the motor is cold remove the radiator cap, drain two cup fulls of coolant from the drain valve on the bottom. Start the car and when the top radiator hose is too hot to touch watch for flow of coolant directly inside the open radiator. You may need a small flashlight to watch the coolant. if there's no movement after 10 minutes idling two things could be wrong: Thermostat stuck shut or the impeller is in fact broken inside the water pump. Do the easy stuff first. Good luck!
