Q: I just noticed a slight leak from my water pump. About the size of my fist. I called one mechanic and was told the 2001 BMW Z3's water pump seals are tight and do not leak with the car is running (engine is hot) but once the car cools the water pump seals expand resulting in the small leak, that I shouldn't worry about it unless it leaks more, the engine over-heats, or dash light turns on. The BMW said I should have the water pump replaced but he may have just said that to make a repair sale. Anyone out there know the truth?
Some seepage through the bearing seal is normal for new pumps. I've never had it happen to me, but that is what I read in the information sheet that the pump came with. If it's leaking out of the gasket area, then you will need to put on a new seal. If the new seal doesn't have anything on it to help the gasket seal such a Felpro's printoseal, use RTV sealant on it and allow it to cure before driving. It is sticky and messy, but it works great.
Q: Relationship between power and flow of sewage pumpFor example, how much power waste water pumps do 1m3/h and 100m3/h need?Best detailed listShow the relationship between power and flow
If you simply want a formula that satisfies your everyday application, the following will meet the requirement:N= y QH/1000,The severe gamma liquid, cattle - ETA / m3; efficiency; N- kW; H- head, power meters;Q- volume flow per cubic meter / second; divided by 1000 is the change of power W to kW;Attachment: gravity is the density of an object multiplied by gravity. Acceleration is expressed as a force in terms of the weight of a unit; The formula is applicable to situations where the calculation is not high and applicable to any liquid known or known to be heavy; The formula is reduced to three simplifications:1, ignoring the pump impeller, shaft and other friction losses;2, ignore the pump flow loss;3, ignore the pump pipe, as well as mechanical heat loss;As a result of the above three loss in the process, material, liquid delivery the same condition can be simplified as a coefficient, then adjust the ETA - efficiency coefficient, can satisfy the application value. The deduction principle of this formula is relatively simple, and the mechanical work of the pump is considered to be transferred to the mechanical energy of the liquid completely; That is, N= gamma QH, at this time, all the mechanical energy that water possesses;Electrical and mechanical energy conversion efficiency exists, then divided by the conversion efficiency ETA is obtained;N= y QH/1000;Special attention is needed. - though the efficiency represents the input electric energy and water energy ratio; but the relationship between the two have many effects, the structure of pump, pump body, liquid material feeding. If the above formula is used to estimate, it should be revised according to the actual situation.
Q: n my water pump hoses feels like theres no pressure
well before you go through a task like that have u checked for opther options? check it out- First: make sure that your radiator is in good condition, check the belts, the hoses and the coolant level. Make sure that there is no coolant leaks. Check the condition of the shroud for cracks its proper installation. Car fluid or coolant circuit element just changed: Your overheating is probably due to air trapped into the coolant circuit. Use the bleed screw to bleed the circuit. Then bleed again, again, again and again. Nothing had been changed, car is overheating while idling or heavy traffic: 1. Check that the thermostat works and opens. 2. Check the fan clutch. Car overheating while driving. Not stop and go. 1. Bleed the cooling circuit. 2. Check the thermostat. 3. Check the water pump. 4. On the 535i, check the bypass hose located and attached just above the upper hose neck on radiator and runs along the inner walls to the Resivior tank. If it is plugged, the car will overheat. Overheating with A/C on, or very high temperature only. 1. Check that the auxiliary fan is working properly(Bentley manual page 170-4). 2. Check the fan clutch.
Q: I just got a new boat with a diesel engine and I don't understand why there is a coolant tank as well as a water pump? I think the water pump goes to the heat exchanger but what actually cools the motor - how does this stuff work?
if you do indeed have a heat exchangers, you have two loops at work...the coolant circulates in the engine with its own pump; the tank is for topping up just like in a car. The external water pump....the one connected to the hose to the seacock / through hull...draws in cool sea water, passes that through the heat exchanger where it cools the coolant and then the hot sea water goes out the exhaust. This way you're not circulating hot corrosive sea water through the engine and shortening its life.
Q: What causes a water pump on a car to go bad????? and are they a pain to change by yourself?????
I would say you have another problem. The water pump just pumps the water through the engine to keep it cool. In a 96 model cherokee I would assume you have the 4.0l V6. I would check the engine control module for damage. If you remove the module you can test it at autozone or some other parts center for free.
Q: 1.5 kW three-phase pump with 600 meters line, should match what big line?
Do you want to see the line loss how much pressure drop, if you want to ensure the working voltage of certain you pump, 600m pressure drop should be two-way, namely power press 1200m, press 380V, 1.5KW working current is calculated according to 3A R=, according to the resistivity * length / cross-sectional area of =0.0175*1200/S=21/S, and the loss of pressure drop =R*I=21*3/S=63/S, S take 3, loss of pressure drop is about 20V, the comprehensive economic cost, take 3 more appropriate, if you are willing to take 5, 6 are never mind, the thicker the loss is smaller.
Q: My friend wants to buy a 90's somethin dodge avenger.( not sure what year) and the guy says the water pump is bad. Does the car have to be re timed when u replace the water pump?
Yep, but it's not as bad as you would think, but bad enough to take a weekend.
Q: Fully automatic self-priming pump
Yes, design according to your different working conditions. For example, water pressure pump is pressure control, water pressure is low will automatically start, the pressure automatically shut down.
Q: My car was is leaking antifreeze. One guy told me without even l putting it up in the air to check it that it was the radiator. The second guy I took it to said it is the water pump. He told me a total of six hundred sixty one dollars to replace it. I went to pep boys and was told eight hundred sixty two. I have a 2000 grand am se.
Do it yourself I did it 4 times to different cars easy job depending on where you buy 40 to 90 dollars just take of belt drain radiator take off necessary accessories take of pump put a sealant on and there ya go
Q: Hi,My problem is of this automatic water pump ,it is disrupt always I don't no why..I also want to knew what is the function of the pressure air tank??? The picture is here:
WHAT does it is disrupt always really MEAN?? OK, that said... pumps such as this work to maintain a pressure with two set points even though the regulator only has one indicated.. The lower set point which as pressure drops, the pump turns on, and the upper set point where when the pressure rises to that point, the pump shuts off. When the pressure drops to the lower set point, it triggers the pump to run. When the pressure rises to the upper set point, the pump turns off. If the set point is 50 pounds, it may turn on at 47 and off at 53, or the window could be smaller and on at 49 and off at 51. The air bladder works as a shock absorber, just as the shocks work in your car to smooth the ride. When the pump turns ON there is a pressure pulse that without the air space, would promptly turn the pump off again. This is called short cycling and will cause your pump to on-off-on-off-on-off rapidly. The solution is to refill the air bladder. People with well pumps instead of city water have this problem frequently as the air bladder loses the bubble and does not work as a spring or shock absorber. I have city water NOW, but I used to use a well (which is still operational if I choose to use it) and I experienced pump short cycling the very first year I bought the house. The thing IS, I was ignorant. I missed the thing about a well and a septic tank that also uses a pump to an above ground drain field. YES. I was STUPID because I had NOT paid attention. NOW, years later, I have learned, the HARD way mind you, how these sanitary systems WORK in real life in RURAL America....
