Q: explain how you would assess the exhaust system in a car? what would you look for?
Normally, in order to adequately assess the exhaust system on your vehicle it is best to get the car up in the air so you can move around freely underneath it. What you are looking for is any place that appears to be rusty with holes or connections that allow exhaust fumes to escape prior to reaching the end of the tailpipe. There are several critical places where exhaust gases can escape. The first is where the exhaust pipe connects to the exhaust manifold right at the engine. Then where the muffler attaches to the header pipe and then where the tailpipe connects to the back of the muffler. Be sure to check any other connects where two pipes join. If it is safe to do so have someone start the vehicle while you are under it and very carefully (don't touch the hot exhaust pipe) run you hand around and along the exhaust pipe attempting to feel for any hot gases that might be escaping from the pipe. If you feel any hot gases escaping that is something that needs to be repaired so those fumes do not enter into the passenger compartment of the vehicle. This process is much easier for a mechanic to do with the vehicle up on a lift.
Q: I want a loud exhaust system for my truck and i need some help in figuring out what to get.
you probably won't be able to reset the sensor. most have to be programmed and it takes a special tool. although some are programmable from the dash and some reset themselves this is not the common kind. is the $350 with a new wheel and tire? if it is it's not that bad a price. if you change it yourself you still have to mount the tire after you install the sensor.
Q: I want to get an Skunk2 Mega Power Exhaust System for my Acura 03 RSX (Base Model) part no. 413-05-1563. Does it come with Hi-flow cat? And also do you need headers and CAI before putting it on, because I already have AEM V2 installed. So does it matter if I buy the exhaust system and then later buy the headers for it?
Above answer sounds good. If you have front brake replaced just make sure its not as tight as rear brakes. Use rear brake and not front brake only. It can flip you and beleive me road rash is NOT fun. LOL
Q: Why do you need to design an exhaust system?
When the injection molding cavity inside the air, the plastic material will fill the dissatisfaction, out of the pieces will be lack of material, that is, playing dissatisfaction. Exhaust methods are: open exhaust slot, thimble exhaust, inlaid exhaust, gas,.
Q: I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Ext. Cab. Im wanting to get a new sound system on it, but i can't decide what to get. i have seen some vids on youtube of straight piped Rams and they sound great, really loud. But i wanted that tone that an exhaust system like Flowmaster would give. Does anybody have any idea how i can get the loudness of straight pipes with the sound of a Flowmaster?
Yes those tires will be fine. 70 vs. 75 is very little difference.
Q: what should I get to have a really deep throaty sound similar to a v8 (yes I know there is no way to make it sound just like one). Should I get borla‘s, flowmaster‘s, glasspack‘ssomething else? Also, I can not in any way have it high pitched, annoying, or raspy like those souped up Honda‘syou know what I mean right?
Go with the flowmaster and custom pipeing from the cat. It would sound fierce. Maybe a 3 to 3 1/2 Diameter pipe
Q: Will a Tuscani Full Exhaust system on my 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 be better than my stock exhaust?
It's not going to sound mean. It is going to sound like a ricey 4 banger simply because it is only a 2.7 liter engine. That is an extremely small 6 cylinder engine. No matter what exhaust system you put on it, it will sound a little ricey and that is just because you have a small engine. By installing a full exhaust system you will pick up a few horsepower.maybe 10. Nothing noticeable though Honestly it is a waste of money. The Tiburon is not worth investing money into. You will spend a lot of money to get a minimal amount of power.
Q: whats a cat back system and whats the diff between that and a muffler. if they are both desighned to make it sound louder then why not just get the muffler??? its cheaper and makes the car look nicer
a cat back system is a complete system that goes from catalytic converter to wherever you want it to exit and a muffler is just that a muffler not an exhaust system
Q: I have a honda, and my dad told me he was going to put a turbocharger on it, I‘m no wiz at cars, but is there some type of performance exhaust that I should put on my car?
A normal G35 takes 30 psi in both the front and rear tires If it is a G35 Sport it varies between 33-35 psi front and rear. Never Ever fill tires to the max pressure on the side. Vehicle Manufacturers engineer the the Tire Pressures for the vehicle to give the best traction, braking and fuel mileage for a vehicle. They did the math dont screw with it. Anyone who is in the TIRE INDUSTRY KNOWS THERE IS NO GENERIC PRESSURE FOR VEHICLES AND SETTING PRESSURES 5-10 LBS BELOW THE MAX IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE GIVING MISINFORMATION. Q: I‘m have a G35 sedan in I want to put hks exhaust tips instead of the whole system will I still get race car sound from just the exhaust tips
The exhaust tips are exactly what they sound like they are simply tips of the exhaust after the muffler, they don't really produce any extra sound or change in sound unless they are angled in a certain direction, nor will you get any extra horsepower or performance gains. You really need a whole free flowing exhaust system for maximum performance and sound gains, but you could just put different muffler on with the exhaust tip pointed downward to deepen the sound a bit along with a louder exhaust due to a freer flowing exhaust.
