Q: if i go to a car shop and ask them to delete 4 cats and re-install 2 new ones and then put on an h and y pipe will they do it or is it illegal and i have to do it myself?
I HAVE A LEGAL AND PERFORMANCE OPTION. Just buy a Mercury Marauder exhaust system. Same car dual exhaust. For starters reducing the number of cats In California NO. HOWEVER, in most states as long as you pass the emissions test you are fine. Two performance Cats will work just as fine as 4 chokers in a dual exhaust system. Remember that whatever you do, you must re-install an oxygen sensor so that the computer will properly work.
Q: I have a Kawasaki ZX10R 2009 and i ride it without exhaust and i want to know if it is in some matter bad for the bike and is it better or worse for the performance? What is the difference between a open racing exhaust and just removing the exhaust? Thank you in advance.
There are two types of exhausts that people use in drag racing. 1. Open exhaust. 2. Tuned exhaust. No exhaust will actually hurt performance. It all has to do with the exhaust pulse. As the exhaust gases are exiting an open exhaust they will cause a vacuum. At the moment the exhaust pulse is exiting, the exhaust valve needs to opening. The exiting pulse will then help pull the exhaust out of the cylinder, assisting in the exhaust cycle. All professional drag racers use tuned open exhaust. Open exhaust just means there are no restrictions in the exhaust system, such as a muffler or a cat. Tuned exhaust means that it is set up so that the exhaust pulses are timed correctly. No exhaust means you have NO exhaust pipes at all. You will lose horsepower with no exhaust, because there is NO exhaust savaging due to the exhaust pulse.
Q: I want an exhaust thats nice and low-sounding for my del sol, not that annoying ricer sound. are they really nice and quiet? anything about these exhausts would help really. Thanks a bunch
Simply, NO Tanabe racing exhausts are not the low tone you are looking for. The tanabe medallion is very loud and will set off car alarms all around you. If you don't belive me I will send you my written violations for loud exhaust and disturbing the peace. I do not recommend them unless you want to be heard by everyone.
Q: headers,resonator,cat,muffler?
The exhaust manifold, since that is the first thing the exhaust gases pass through when going through the exhaust system. You can have a 3 inch exhaust and 1.5in. headers and it won't do you a bit of good. Start at the engine and work your way down.
Q: I live along a very busy street and I am about to go postal on the inconsiderate jerks with loud exhausts. I‘m serious! Why is nothing being done anywhere about this problem? No matter where I go there is some jerk with a 4x4 truck, little peice of crap street racer, or motorcycle that obviously has an illegal exhaust system. Even snowmobiles have decibel restrictions. I can‘t be the only person that is sick of all the unnecessary noise or am I?
Sorry you're having to contend with that problem. Actually, I normally like the sound of a roaring, well built hot-rod engine. But to be sure, sometimes, the racket can be annoying.especially when the machine making the noise isn't really meant to be making so much of it. I don't normally mind the engine sounds or loud exhausts. What bothers me are inconsiderate morons who play their loud rap music while driving their vehicles. There are probably noise restrictions at wherever you live, and if the police catch someone, they can be ticketed. I don't know what to suggest to you. If you don't like loud noise, then it would defy the point to urge you to turn up your television or radio, to camouflage the external noise. Good luck- and God bless.
Q: i have a 67 mustang coupe that i am putting together I‘m about to put in the exhaust system and i want a mean sounding exhaust so do you have an suggestions
I have a '67 fastback, and I have the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system. I used to have some cheap $20 Cherrybomb Glasspacks on it.Both sound AMAZING!!!.One thing that's kind of a con about the glasspacks though. Over time, the fiberglass material in them starts to crack, and come loose, making them louder, but just as great. I didn't mind them getting louder, but if you have them for a couple of years like I did, you might as well through your radio out of the window. You won't be able to hear it anymore. The Flowmasrters, however, sound better, and are GREAT!!!.Look up a couple of vids on youtube like I did before you buy them though.
Q: I have a 2007 v6 mustang and I recently got a Pypes true dual exhaust kit making it, dual exhaust from the stock single exhaust and giving it a much better sound.i can see the mpg I get on the dash and I was used to seeing 16-19 but when I looked it said 13.8. I have had the exhaust for less them a week and sure, I‘m being a little harder on the gas to hear the noise but a loss in mpg is a lot to lose just to be a little harder on the pedal.my hypothesis is that I am losing back pressure/force because the air is coming out two pipes instead of one, but I am no car expert at all.why is this happening? and how can I fix it?
could be a glow plug situation! additionally coolant sensor could reason this fault. Get it clinically determined at a storage. There are fairly some garages close to me which will run a loose diagnostic. it may additionally be the MAF sensor. in lots of circumstances you will get to a undeniable rev selection and it stutters then options up previous this. in spite of if it somewhat is not examining wisely the automobile over-fuels. is additionally a on/off fault as you defined. As suggested must be air filter out, yet often non-end issues if it rather is undesirable. Sensor on exhaust gases, yet returned could regularly instruct all time if lifeless. i think a sensor or undesirable earth!
Q: I want my car to sound louder, what should I get? Flowmaster? Magnaflow? Or borla? What do you guys recommend?
you can get an oil change for $16 these days. it costs at least that to buy what you need to do the job. so take it somewhere and get the oil changed. or get a boyfriend who can show you how to do it the right way.
Q: Hello I need a full exhaust system for my 92 Toyota pick up I don‘t know which to get and am afraid of ordering one and it not fitting is the exhaust for a regular cab and ext cab the same ? How do I know I‘m getting the right one?
The exhaust systems for Regular cab and Xtra-Cab configurations are not the same. I would also recommend going to an exhaust shop. They can bend you up a good-fitting system for your truck and install it, usually for less cost than a pre-made exhaust system. Look for exhaust shops in your area that have good reviews and ask them for a quote.
Q: is there any simple way to fix it before it blows up the engine?
On an engine that is running, it is impossible to get water INTO the exhaust system because the exhaust should be blowing OUT all the time. If it sucks in, you have a timing problem. Someone is trying to take you for a ride.
