Q: I just purchased this bolt-on exhaust cat back system from Magnaflow. The part number is 16936. I saw a couple online videos of this system and they sound much more louder than mine after I installed it. So I checked around and I‘ve heard that some of them come with resonators that I can remove to make it louder? I was told that it is illegal to remove the cats and it is not an option to do so at this time anyways. the exhaust is for a 2007 Dodge Charger SXT 3.5L V6. Any help with this would be appreciated. My friend told me that his exhaust sounded stupid too until he took out the resonator or maybe something in the tip (I‘m not quite sure) then it was much louder and didn‘t sound so restricted. Thanks in advance!: you could take it to a shop and tell them to take the resonator and they will. With the CAT, it is illegal but there are places that will do that.for a price. With the resonator off it should sound better. I have a Magnum with the HEMI and the resonator on it and it sounds great.but that is the V-8! just take it to a tuner shop or an exaust shop and they will take that off for you.

Q: I have a 1998 Mercury Tracer. I recently got a new exhaust: muffler, pipe, and gasket. (Cat back) could this new exhaust blow the engine? Because a day after I had the exhaust done, my mechanic said the cylinder of my engine blew up. Could this be because of a bad exhaust job?: No the exhaust would not cause that unless they put on like dual 3/4 pipes very small. And i doubt that is the case.
