Misc hangers throughout. Usually just a muffler will do it to get a different sound. Some people do a cat back system which is piping and muffler(s) and sometimes a connecting pipe from one side to the other in dual exhaust systems. (sometimes called a crossover or X pipe)

Thanks: It will narrow who will purchase the car to a younger person who likes the performance sound. An older person like your parents who may have the money and credit to get it off your hands in the future will not get the vehicle. That same performance sound will translate to them as noise when they are coming and a drone inside the cabin when they are going. A car dealership notorious for not giving much of anything for a trade in, will dock you for even more because it is an aftermarket replacement to a manufactured part. I would recommend you keep the stock system on and save your money.

Q: Probably a dumb question but when they say exhaust system, does that mean it comes with a up pipe and down pipe too? and if not, what does the (system) include.: Full system means headers and exhaust. I don't think it will come with up and down pipe. Why don't you look at HKS's web site. Seems like you are interested in getting HKS.

Q: I want a duel exhaust system on my mx3. it is a four cylinder engine, with a full stock system on it. I want to know if I can have a dual exhaust system put on, and if so what would be the pros and cons of doing such?: Have you ever looked at your car from underneath? It would be a good idea to become familiar with where things are under your car. I'm not sure about a MX-3, but my FC3S RX-7 has the appropriate hangar locations for dual exhaust. I believe that you should get your car up on 4 jack stands (not just a jack, that would be VERY stupid and dangerous). Don't try to take the easy way out and use ramps either. It only takes a nudge to make a car roll back down them. Once it is safely supported by 4 jack stands in the proper locations (consult your owners manual or a good MX-3 Forum for details), slide under the back and follow where the exhaust pipe goes (a cold engine is a good idea for this, to prevent burns). Then look at the opposite side for a mirror-image of what the exhaust pipe is attached to. If it is a mirror image like it is on my RX-7, it should be pretty easy to do duals. The plus to dual exhaust is less backpressure if done correctly, but it means adding some weight to the car. Usually, it's less than 30lbs more, depending on where the Y-pipe will be and how the exhaust system is routed in general. I'd still recommend asking your fellow MX-3 owners though, since they would know more than I would about your specific application.

Q: When I set my car to neutral, and gave it LOTS of gas a black liquid exits out of the exhaust pipe. I had use a product called Guarteened to pass smog. Is this normal? And what can i do to MAKE SURE my car passes smog?: well when you have black smoke out the exhaust its unburnt fuel, but a black fluid sounds odd unless the additive you put in is mixing with unburnt fuel in the exahust and causing it to come out as a black fluid
