Q: Hi, I‘m just a 13 yrs. old kid trying to know these things. I love cars and i just want to know more stuff. Could anyone describe these for me? I will really appreciate it. THANKS
What Normansland92 said is right. I just wanna throw in Spoilers are BAD, I can tell you'll be into modifying your car so when you get a car one day remember to stay away from spoilers.
Q: I bought a Catback Exhaust system from OBX Racing specific to my 2010 Mazda 3 S Sport. I took it to a licensed mechanic as to not void my warranty and he said he could not do it because VA requires there to be Cats on the vehicle and that I would have to buy one for him to install the system. I have no idea about exhaust systems but if I bought a Catback Exhaust system, doesn‘t it have Cats?
The mechanic is a idiot its a CAT BACK meaning its from the tail end of the cat to the muffler and out the back so you should be using the stock cat Take it to another mechanic since yours clearly doesnt have all the sockets to a set Cheers (i recently bought a magnaflow exhaust for my 2006 mazda 3
Q: Exhaust system failure lights can not be normal driving
Car attention to add high quality oil.
Q: Just wondering what everyone thinks, I know borla corsa etc all of the most expensive brands are the best (in my opinion) and a V6 will never every sound like a v8, but how would yous rank and compare Flowmasters, Magnaflow, Mac, Ford Racing performance parts, etc. for V6sThanks in advance!
Silent runners. I got 6 robos, 4 of the wehlls. No noise.
Q: I am wanting to add as much power to my 1990 v6 camaro as possible WITHOUT going to a v8. I was wondering what would be the best exhaust system for me to get, that would still be quiet, because I love stealth. Where would be a good place to get it from, will I need both the muffler and headers, and would I be able to have it customized with a different exhaust tips welded on?
A performance exhaust will add somewhere between 6 to 25 horsepower for your V6 Camaro. I would get a Flow-master system. They have a lower resonation from my experience than other comparable brands. As far as headers go, a quality upgrade will ensure you the best precision in it's build, and promise a slight raise in performance (most likely unnoticeable though). Welding is always best, but bolt on products are just fine nowadays. My number one suggestion overall though, is to make sure you keep the same size pipe from the cat back, as you have now. Car manufacturers use the size exhaust they do for good reason. Your motor functions off of a certain balance of front and back pressure, and by going too big with the exhaust pipe on a smaller motor can cause all kinds of headaches. idling issues, stalling, and most certainly a loss of power (which is the opposite of what you want in the first place). So find a nice performance shop, or even the Chevy dealer (although it will cost you a pretty penny), and ask to see what they have. You also have the option to buy online, and take it down to Midas, RNS, Strauss Auto, or Pep Boys. But then if something is wrong you'll have to deal with the shipping. Good Luck!
Q: I‘m soon going to put an exhaust on my civic, I want a bit more power and a nice sound. What do you guys think of magnaflow, does it add a good amount of power?, does it sound nice?
How it sounds is up to you. It's a waste of money as far as providing any useful power increase. You'll never notice the few extra horsepower in everyday driving.
Q: this is for my 1999 dodge dakota. im also getting a KN cold air intake and flowtech headers to go with the new exhaust so which would be better, the system or just the muffler?
The KN is great, FlowMaster is good, too. Ask the Flowmaster exhaust experts your questions. Specifically about you r vehicle. Remember, noise does not mean power.
Q: I have a small hole due to rusting right before the muffler, and it is also a little rusted near what I believe is where the catalytic converter is, it is a bulge in the exhaust pipe with vents on the bottom, towards the front of the car. I was hoping it was just the muffler that was making the car louder, but it's not, so does the whole thing have to be replaced, and if so, how much will it cost me?Car:1990 honda civic EX sedan 1.6L (probably original exhaust system due to condition)
The exhaust system is pretty thin and weak when holes start developing in it like that. If the metal around the hole feels pretty strong when you press around the hole, you could attempt to muffle the sound with heavy heat resistant insulator and hose clamps, but this is really hillbilly and temporary, and it'll only muffle the sound some if it works. You probably need a new exhaust system. Not cheap.
Q: looking at gasket maker able to withstand 700 degrees for everywhere from my front pipe to exhaust. I‘m having trouble finding gaskets for my aftermarket exhaust and am thinking this may be better. any reason why i shouldnt go with it?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Will high temp gasket maker work throughout my exhaust system? looking at gasket maker able to withstand 700 degrees for everywhere from my front pipe to exhaust. I'm having trouble finding gaskets for my aftermarket exhaust and am thinking this may be better. any reason why i shouldnt go with it?
Q: I have a 2008 civic coupe that i wanted to add a custom exhaust to. I just bought a Apexi N1 Universal muffler because i am worried about Massachusetts Laws against noise polution or discrimination towards loud imports. Anyways, Would the Apexi N1 Catback system have been better than the universal muffler being taken to the shop and having a 2 1/4 custom pipe installed from the Cat back? I‘d say it would be no different, right? Another question, How much different would the 2 1/4 pipe make from the cat back rather than leaving the stock pipe in and just adding the N1 Muffler?I would add a high flow cat but im afraid it wont pass emissions?I would also add a Header but im afraid that wont pass emissions?Doing a complete custom exhaust system would cause nothing but problems with emissions and the police, right?I want to do it up but i want to know what would be the best setup that I could get away with and still pass emissions. Can anyone Help?
First off there is no such thing as cruiser tires and sports tires, the only thing that matters is they fit: ie they are same dimensions as the ones you took off, for example I recall the rear in the Ninja 250 being 130/90-16, as long as the one you replaced it with is the same it will be fine, if the person who put them on is complaining its probably because you didn't buy them from him which means he makes less money and he wouldn't like that so he was probably trying to get you to buy them off him, Basically as long as they are the same dimensions/specs as standard it will be fine, Again there is no such things as cruiser tires and sports tires, there are tires that are better suited to cruisers and tires that are better suited to sports bikes but tires are not built for one type of bike or another.
