- there are no exhausts you can add that won't make it sound like a fart cannon and add horsepower at the same time. i tried to do the same thing by adding an exhaust on my 99 accord ex and it sounded gay and i didnt feel any difference in power. i would recoment leaving the exhaust stock and adding a turbo or you can also reduce the weight of your car by taking unneeded things off such as the spare tire, jack, ect. Lightening up your car will not only make it faster but also help it handle better all without making it sound ricey!

- I've just completed 2 rebuilds of exhaust on 2 different cars. The most common areas for holes to check: 1) See if there's a flex pipe off the headers coming off the engine. This part vibrates a lot and bends as the engine moves so it can wear down. I replaced one of these for about $90 myself. It's just held in by 4 nuts and a couple of gaskets. Easy fix that my local mechanic wanted to charge $350 for. 2) Check all the flanges to see if they have loosened or corroded. I have seen a lot of these rust out right where the weld of the flange meets the pipe. 3) Check the hangers. The metal hangers are welded on the pipe to hang them under the car and the weld weakens the pipes at the weld so they can give out more easily. You may need to get some jack stands and a set of ramps to get under the car easily and safely at home. My local Wal-Mart will do a fleet inspection for like $15 and may be able to see a hole if it's obvious if you don't want to get dirty. I just got the tools and did it myself. I saved a lot of money and now I have the tools for future use. My total bill was going to be $650 for a complete repair and I did it all for about $200 with all new parts. (Advance Auto Parts is my fav parts store, best prices I've found)

- The best exhaust system for an Audi R8 is the Capristo exhaust system. They make systems for Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, and pretty much every super car manufacturer out there. It even has a remote to open or close the bypass exhaust valve which allows you to control the kind of sound your car emits plus it adds horsepower. Prices will vary quiet extensivley, so I can't say exactly what price it is.

- The pictured system does not include a catalytic converter. Unless a converter is located on the engine pipe (upstream of the long pipe shown) installing this exhaust system would eliminate the converter. Converters oxidize unburned hydrocarbons and convert CO to CO? thereby improving air quality. The pictured exhaust system would not meet emission standards in many other States as well. (CARB is California Air Resources Board). The pictured system will not improve engine performance, (the splitter is too far from the outlet) but will attract Police attention due to excess noise.
