Q: I live in a house that uses a pump to push water from a tank to the bathroom and kitchen. It has a sensor that detects if water is flowing and pushes it much harder. Recently, it has been pushing the water for a second or less then it completely stops for a while. It's like a pulse of water then nothing. Can anyone give me feedback on what is wrong here? Thank you.
from okorder :Self-priming pump working principle is: the pump before you start in the pump shell filled with water (or) from the water in the pump housing.Start after high-speed rotating impeller flow to the vortex in the impeller, shell, then the entry form the vacuum, the inlet non-return door open, within the air into the pump suction tube and the impeller, to arrive at the outer edge.Self-priming pump is a self-priming centrifugal pump, it has compact structure, convenient operation, stable operation, easy maintenance, high efficiency, long service life, and have strong self-priming capacity, etc.Line does not need to install the bottom valve, only to ensure storage in pump body before work are quantitative liquid.Pump after the normal starting, impeller liquid of suction chamber and inlet line of air suction, and can completely mixed within the impeller, the function of centrifugal force, and liquid with gas to the vortex flow volume outside edge, the impeller has a certain thickness is formed on the outer edge of the white foam belt and high-speed rotating liquid ring.Gas-liquid mixture into the gas-liquid separation chamber through diffusion tube.At this time, due to the flow rate suddenly drops, lighter gas is separated from the mixture of liquid and gas through the pump body spit continues to rise. After degassing of liquid to liquid storage chamber, and the reflux hole again into the impeller, and impeller with inhalation of gases from the inlet line again mix, flow under the action of the high-speed rotating impeller and the impeller outer edge....As the process cycle, decreasing the air in the suction line, until all gas absorption, complete the self-priming process, pump put into normal operation. What you said phenomenon should be pipeline leak, which leads to the self-priming pump process is repeated.
Q: I have a 1998 ford taurus. It started to over heat so i turned on the heater full blast and it didn't get hot. so i put antifreeze in it and i turned it on and it seemed ok but it started to over heat again and the tank for the antifreeze looked like the cap was going to pop off. I was just down the road from my house so i thought if i drove slow i could make it home and it turned on ok but when i put it in drive it stalled. Does this mean its the water pump??????
If your water pump goes bad it leaks. A Lot. You can watch the water pour out from under your car like an open faucet, car running or off. If you are having cooling issues and must get home or to the shop slowing down will only make it worse. Your radiator is designed to use moving airflow to cool the water system. Even if you have little water in your radiator the air will help cool everything under the hood... to an extent. Between 50 and 60 are the best speeds for cars low on water. Trust me. If you're not seeing any leaking water then it could be one of these reasons: Radiator clogged. Thermostat bad. Head gasket.
Q: We have fresh running water..no well... We just want to install it on our playground for the kids to experience a manual water pump. Can it be attached to running water? Do I need a tank? Help! Thank YOU!
With no offense meant at all to answer 1... I grew up without indoor plumbing on a farm. ALSO while this is to be functional it reads as if it's to be a demonstration of the process of lifting water by means of the action of a pump. I suggest certainly that it not strictly be a means for practical use IE: drinking; etc. Obviously you'd need a receptacle that will hold enough water to allow the pump to perform. A 5 gallon paint bucket could suffice perhaps. A platorm to bolt the pump head to, and perhaps some method of keeping it all from spilling over when eager students engage with it. I have never checked with HD or Lowes, but certainly online you'd get an answer rather quickly. Farm/Feed stores most definitely would have functional hand crank/lever, water pumps. Also often sold in RED or GREEN,,,smile. I'll assume you have a custodian/maintenance person/husbands/boyfriends/fathers/mothe... who would be happy to get involved and you could be pumping in less than an hour. The situation obviously can be portable and brought indoors at the end of any day you choose to use it for the purposes you define. Steven Wolf
Q: My well is 58 meters deep, the water level is 20 meters, the water level has not been measured. What's the maximum water pump I should choose?
Deep well pumps can be used. According to your parameters. 0. 75 or 1. The 1KW deep well pump is in line with your requirements. Elephant 0. 75KW head can reach 70 meters. The water output in an hour is about 3 tons.. I wonder how much you get out of the water every hour. If the amount of water is small, you can buy a larger power point. General domestic deep well pump 0. 75 or 1. The price of 1KW is between 500-700. In the case of ordinary brands. The price of imported goods is between 600-900. The products at this price are generally of good quality.. Of course they don't sell your shoddy premise.
Q: We recently fixed our stone water fountain, and now we're trying to get it working. THe pump we had was about 5 yrs old, and didn't work. We've tried to get a new one online, but it only had one inlet for the water to go into the pump, and that got clogged in a matter of about 5 minutes. Since our garden has many trees, it's almost impossible for us to keep the fountain 100% clean all the time to prevent clogging. Anybody know where to get a pump for a 15gal fountain, that has multiple inlets?
Alex - It's best to look for water fountain pump based on there GPH i.e. Gallon per hour ratings - this is the rating that show how many gallons of water is the pump able to recirculate in one hour. First answer to look for is the GPH rating of your original fountain pump. Also, most of the higher GPH fountains have several inlets, so that should not be an issue if you get a higher GPH pump. Just keep in mind that higher the GPH, higher the power consumption, and thereby, higher electric bills. Just look up the sources I am pointing out below and I am sure you would find a good fountain pump for your garden fountain.
Q: and it still runs about every 1/2 hr even if you are not using water. I have no leaks from the pump thought the house so I think the problem is between the house and the well. I can't hear or see any leaks in the elbows in the well. I tried to pull the foot valve up but can't get it out. I replaced the pump cause it was worn out and it was running every 15 min. Do I need to set the pressure on the new one it cuts off at 42 and on at 20 psi and what else could cause it to run when it shouldn't? I know I should call a plumber, but haven't worked in months and can not afford one.
Your round pressure tank on the cellar may be water logged. Turn off your pump and drain as much of the water out of the air pressure tank in your cellar near the pump as you possibly can. There should be a Shrader (tire valve) valve in the very top of the tank. Pump the pre-charge tank up with 2 lbs. *less (18 lbs.) than the cut-in point of your pump. So far you have nothing invested in your problem. I wish would have told us weather you had a submersible or jet pump. It takes some strong boys to pull a jet pump-foot valve out of your well if that's your problem. Special equipment is needed to pull a submersible pump.
Q: Okay, the fan has the clutch unit on the front with the large nut attaching it to the water pump. Then 4 screws attach the pulley to the water pump as well. What's the best way to immobilize pulley/pump so I can get the fan blade clutch nut unscrewed? Can't hold onto the fan or clutch unit since it simply spins. Can't realy seem to hold onto the pulley either as it prefers to spin? Any suggested best ways?
can usually get 32mm wrench and hit it with hammer in opposite direction Has backwards threads If not get thick rag and real long big screwdriver and carefully pry against pully so it doesnt turn and hit wrench with hammer too loosen Or buy special bmw tools
Q: 89 Dodge van overheats, no water leak, replaced thermostat but still overheats.
leave the cap off and start it. if it circulates then the water pump is still good. you say it overheats? flush out the radiator. if that van has a electric fan then make sure it is kicking on.
Q: I have a well that is 6inch and down 250 ft. It use to be used to water our grove. The submersible pump went bad and I had it pulled and capped. I was wondering since the water level in the pipe is around 6 feet down, can I install an above ground jet pump to feed my house? Could I just go down around 30 feet and pump with the above ground jet pump instead of using the submersible pump? tks for any help..
It is possible, but not likely. Once you start pumping the level will drop and may not refill quick enough to stay at shallow well pump level (25ft). It will work to install a convertible above ground jet pump though. They will draw water up from over 100ft depth. But installing a submersible is the best way.
Q: 55KW motor driven lift 70M, the displacement of 180 cubic meters per hour of water pump, the configuration should be no problem, but after the start of the current to 170A (rated 100A), off a small valve to the current export half to reach the rated current. Why current will close a small valve instead of small? Will close a small valve will not affect traffic flow can be? To the 180 party?
170A has shown that the motor is overloaded; the head 70M; the displacement of 180 cubic meters; the approximate power is 42Kw (efficiency is higher). At this point, the current of the corresponding motor should be approximately 86A;The power of water pump is related to the quantity of water transported. The water pump is a passive energy conversion device, and it has no regulating ability. It depends entirely on the intersection of its pipeline characteristics and its own characteristics,No, your situation is the pump and pipeline characteristic, the pump head is higher than the resistance of pipeline, so that the water flow movement (increase too large). Pump power becomes largerShut down the water pump, the valve will certainly reduce the amount of water, as for whether to reach 180, you can see the pressure gauge to show the pump lift to determine the pressure of less than 70 meters, the flow of more than 180
