- I'd recommend that you try and find a U pick/pull auto wreckers and hopefully they will have some vehicles like yours so you can not only find a good replacement harness but also learn more about what exactly is involved.Basically any harness has male-female plug in connectors that may run from under the hood to different comps and sensors etc and it could run to the inside of the vehicle to a fuse box or fuse box connector.Some harness's run along the engine and plug into different devices such as the fuel injectors etc then runs to some firewall etc plug in connectors.Many of different ground wires that may run to the frame/chassis or battery. Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way don't forget to clean the ground surfaces and the wire o-ring connectors with a wire brush and sandpaper etc before you install the replacement harness.
- Q: I have a GM 97 Pontiac Bonneville SSE with a stock Bose Audio SystemI am installing a Kenwood head unit and since my Bose system has a built in stock amp I cant wire this myself because its not simple like 8 wires, 4 speakers, + and - to rewire its all confusing. So my question is, is there a wiring harness that will convert/integrate my stock factory radio wire clip into my kenwood clip so I dont have to do any wiring.Also I have already looked up the OFFICIAL wiring diagrams of my stereo and they ALL match up EXCEPT the 8 speaker wires, so Ive had my head unit powered and functioning, I just cant figure out the rest so I want a wiring hardness so I can keep my 4 stock speakers stock amplified so they are loud when I install my subwoofers next week.

- Q: I cut the stock wiring harness under the dash in the middle console, and we are having problems with transmission shifting, and many other electrical problems can they all be related?I know the transmission thing sounds far-fetched, but while messing with the wires, ti can turn on or off the Overdrive dash light. so i didnt know if it could be messing with the shifting of the transmission.
- depending on what is wired in the same circuit with that stereo wire harness. you may have already shorted out the computer in the car. most automotive techs dont know much about the wires for a radio and most MECP dont know much about the computer for the auto. yes it could be a problem if the transmission is controlled shifting by the car's ecu.

- Just cut the power wire and install a kill switch between the cut wire and use the correct voltage kill switch for this unit. You can use a volt meter to find the power wire.
- Q: Hi, I am planning to install a newer car deck/head unit for my 1990 nissan 240sx, it already has a older panasonic deck. So when I took a look at the wiring harness I realized that from the deck to the after market harness there exists a black ground wire, and from the after market harness to the factory harness there does not exist a black ground wire, this means that the after market black ground wire is not really connected to anything through the factory harness, the older deck works fine. I was wondering when I install my newer deck, do I need that black ground wire, will it cause any problems if i keep it like that?Thank you.
- well the ground wire provides displacement for the power going in the antenna will act as a grond thats why the old deck works but it wont provide good power also running a bigger power wire will give you better perfomance out of the decks amplification system

- the complete harness? You can go the expensive route and buy it brand new O.E.M. from a dealership,or hit a motorcycle junk yard and get it for about 45 bucks.The bone yard is a better way [kind of] because you will be able to see how it is on the bike and you can take pics to refer to.

- Q: I have a Sony CDX-71W Radio, I'm have trouble with the back speaker in my car, its not blown, its just not getting power to the speaker. I need to know what colored wire in the back of the radio gives power to the back right speaker, if your looking at the car from the rear of the car. I tested it with a multimeter and I'm not getting any readings at all. Anyone know where I can find a diagram for free on what each wire does, or know what each colored wires do what?
- RED is hot when ignition is on, Yellow is hot at all times; Blue is for the auto antenna, Black is ground ,The other eight wire's are speaker wire's ,there in pair's, so that means you have four sets of speaker wire's,Two pair's for the front and two pair's for the back,in other words the solid white wire and the white wire with the black line running down it is a pair. you must have a solid wire and a matching colored wire with a strape running down it going to each speaker.
- Q: I had my head gasket and head resurfaced at a shop. When I picked up my car I drove it a little it seemed o.k. The next day I went over a dip in the road and the car shut off right away . The problem was the wiring harness under the radiator was hanging loose and was damaged when I hit the dip. The plastic coating was scaped off and wires were broken. I know that harness was not hanging before I took it for repair.Is it possible when they were doing the work on the heads and changing water pump they left the harness hanging?
- Ya first of all i could see if the engine is seized. attempt turning the engine over manually. fairly basic with the spark plugs out, or perhaps grimy cable ends on the battery, or i could wager which you engaged the starter some cases with the motor working and knock some enamel off the hoop kit. this is the kit around the torque converter which the starter turns to start your engine. as quickly as those are worn off or broken , you will get loud banging noise reason the starter force is lacking the hoop kit (no longer meshing up) while the undesirable part of the hoop kit is sitting to the place the starter is think to have interaction on occasion no longer something happens. purely a whining of the starter.
