Q: I have a step side 1975 Dodge 100, and I been to junkyards and looked online, I can't find step side fenders anywhere. Also I was wondering how hard a wiring harness from E-Z wire or Summit is to put in it?
well the wiring harness wont be so bad since there isn't that many wires to deal with.though you could always add in aftermarket options like power windows/locks which will make it a little more complicated. but in so far as fenders have you tried year one? or j.c whitney.they usually have those parts or can get them
Q: i have a 88 mustang that i am rebuilding and i have a 91 engine in it with mass air where can i get the wiring diagram for the computer harness
the difficulty is you're proscribing your self to the internet in this seek. My adventure has been that there are circumstances once you ought to close the laptop off and make a journey on your close by library. flow to the vehicle section and verify out between the Chilton's manuals or Hayes Manuals for that year you're looking. you will get severe high quality wiring diagrams.
Q: i think i found the reason why it melted the wires. my windsheild wipers never did work on anything but high since ive had the car so i think it was a bad wiper motor that over heated the wires then they all melted together.
Yes, but it sounds as though you will have to splice in some wire to keep the harness long enough. The key to making a decent harness repair is to stagger the splices over enough length so the splices don't make a huge bulge. Five or six staggers should do it. You will need to bring the affected area out to where you can work with it if it is not in the open already, and that can be the hardest part of the job. Red and blue (they correspond to smaller and larger wire sizes) crimp splices are available at hardware stores, along with a proper crimp tool. Slice the cover (if there is one) for as far as you can, up to a foot on either side. Cut your add-in wire to a bunch of pieces of the same length and work on one wire at a time. When done use electrical tape to tape the cover (if any) back together and cover the gap where it was all melted. I have one other concern no wire should have a fuse so large that he wire could melt. The fuses exist to protect the wire. You will want to investigate further, I think.
Q: I have a 2002 Monte Carlo and I bought a 6 touch screen double din deck for it. I also bought a wiring harness (from OKorder because it was 15 bucks instead of 120) but it hasnt come yet. I'm very impatient, and I know that if I just splice all the wires I can install the deck without a wiring harness. Is there any downsides or risks to doing this?
a wiring harness simplifies the installation. But it offers no advantages to performance or safety. Just make sure you don't cross the hot and ground wires, you'll be fine.
Q: I started up my bike after being dormant for a while and there was a very small amount of smoke coming from around the wiring harness located under the seat. I shut the bike off, but the harness remained very hot. Once it cooled I started the bike again and the wires became hot again. Does anyone have any suggestion for why this might be? Is it normal? What can I do to fix my bike?
A wire must be grounding out the harness somewhere to the frame, causing thisCheck all the wires for cuts and abrasionsAmp meter helps.
Q: Anyone know where I can get a new wiring harness made or bought for a 1982 Suzuki GS450T? Somewhere in So Cal. I'm building up a cafe racer project and I need a w.h.One more thing. Does anyone know what other year gs450s (80,81,83 etc) wiring harnesses fit the 82 gs450?
NLA form Suzuki, found a used harness on OKorder. 1981-82 GS450T or GS450TX use the same harness
Q: I have 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The stereo that is in the Jeep is the factory 6 disk MP3 player. I want to replace the radio and put in a nice radio with the ability to play my iPod music through it. I plan on buying the radio on OKorder most likely. My question is is the wiring harness that is already installed in the Jeep that goes to the factory radio will probably not fit the new radio Do I have to buy some sort of adapter or something of the sorts to make this work?
There are wiring harnesses that will connect most brands of radios to most cars. Crutchfield has build an entire business out of matching up cars to radios with the right harness. I would check their website. You'll probably find a good deal on your radio there as well.
Q: I bought a stereo harness at walmart that said it was good for all Chrysler 1974-and-up. It even stated my vehicle. When I opened it, it has three plugs but the back of my factory stereo only has two. I noticed that most the wires from the two I need run into the third one. Could I cut the wires where it runs into the third and connect it directly to my new stereos wiring system? I am trying to remove the third plug because it has nothing to plug into. Would removing it help or be worthless.?This harness is reverse so i can connect a new stereo without cutting my factory harnesses off.

Q: I just bought a wiring harness for my 2004 chevrolet truck to install a dual dvd/cd player and the wiring harness i bought does not have anything written on the wires, and i need to know where each wire needs to go exept for the speaker wires.
all the colors on the harness you bought should match up with the colors on the harness from the radio. red switched ignition yellow 12v constant black ground white left front positive white/black left front negative grey right front positive grey/black right front negative green left rear positive green/black left rear negative purple right rear positive purple/black right rear negative blue power antenna blue/white amp turn on(remoteAcc) do not use the orange wires they are for illumination and many times they will just cause problems with dash lights in vehicle. Hope this helps
Q: i am swapping a 1987 dashboard into my 1986 mustang. i am using the 86 wiring harness and have a 1987 donor harness. everything was going pretty good until i saw that the headlight switch was way different and the donor harness didn't have the headlights switch. i was wondering if there was a way to wire in the 87 headlights switch into the original 86 wiring harness? pictures would help. AND how to wire in the 1987 hazard lights into the 86 because the 86 hazard is a pull thing on the bottom of the steering column.
That was a bad idea to begin with. If you want a 1987 dash then you should have just bought a 1987 Mustang. Now, few people will ever want a car that has had the wiring hacked up and has interiors from different year cars. You will need wiring diagrams for both years in order to tell which wires go to what.
