Q:97 town car, I had got a wire harness for cd deck and the speaker connector is different.WHY? what do i need to do.and what is up with the stock amp? do i have to remove it? please any info would helpthanks.
Cruntchfield is an great source yet their SP expenditures suck. circulate to your community motor vehicle audio keep in case you dont have on then look at circuit city or perfect purchase. No its Circuit city, the sell JVC products. if that would not artwork then you definately can try Walmart, they might have it. Oh and the aspects which you desire are 2 wiring harnesses (one for the production facility wires already on your motor vehicle and the different for the radio's harness) you will desire an antenna adaptor so which you will get radio stations and a splash kit to guard each thing in besides as make it look flush. i'm hoping this works stable success
Q:I need to connect my radio illumination wire on my 1990 honda accord but I dont have a illumination wire connected to my radio. But I have the wire. And there isnt a dimmer wire in my car. How would I go about this?
The okorder
Q:I have a GM 97 Pontiac Bonneville SSE with a stock Bose Audio SystemI am installing a Kenwood head unit and since my Bose system has a built in stock amp I cant wire this myself because its not simple like 8 wires, 4 speakers, + and - to rewire its all confusing. So my question is, is there a wiring harness that will convert/integrate my stock factory radio wire clip into my kenwood clip so I dont have to do any wiring. Also I have already looked up the OFFICIAL wiring diagrams of my stereo and they ALL match up EXCEPT the 8 speaker wires, so Ive had my head unit powered and functioning, I just cant figure out the rest so I want a wiring hardness so I can keep my 4 stock speakers stock amplified so they are loud when I install my subwoofers next week.
that's confusing to make certain if the alternative of the harness will sparkling up the difficulty. in case you have faith that using at tough street is the reason for the difficulty, the broken harness could desire to be placed undeneath the vehicle.
Q:i currently have a system in my car and i have 0G power and grounds wire that i bought off OKorder (some cheap quality cable) i already replaced both ground cables under the hood( engine block to battery and body to battery). now i am going to replace all of it with high quality 0G wire and was wondering if anybody knows the best spots to mount the grounds. and should the wire from my alternator to my battery also be the same 0G wire. also i have a 10 fared Rockford Fosgate cap that has a built in block for power and ground. should i use that block or get a different one? the car i have is a 1997 Sunfire, 2dr.any advice would be appreciated
The factory grounds are okay. You should also change out the wire going from the alternator to the battery. I don't recommend using capacitors b/c they take a few dB from your systems max.
Q:i am putting a new stereo into my 05 chevy colorado and before i buy a wiring harness i need to know if i accually need one since i do not have onstar?
While it is possible to install an aftermarket receiver in practically any vehicle without a wiring harness, it's usually better to use one. 1) First of all, it makes the installation easier and more professional looking; 2) If something goes wrong, it's usually easier to isolate and diagnose the problem; and 3) If and when you ever want to re-install the factory unit (perhaps when you trade or sell the vehicle), it can be just plugged back in. Wiring harnesses are cheap and what you pay for one can save you lots of time and future headaches. I've had to correct a few butcher jobs myself, and believe me it would have been a lot less expensive if they had just purchased a $10 harness in the first place. And in the case of the Colorado, a wiring harness will eliminate the need for extensive rewiring if you want to retain factory chimes or steering wheel controls.
Q:I just bought a 98 mustang 4.8L Convertible and the driver side head light did'nt work. No big deal right?Just go down and get a new light bulb well i got the bulb took apart the head light housing and the light for it did'nt fit. so i looked at a bit more and it looks like the bulb there isn't broke and the wiring on the head light is kinda screwy it has a main harness that hooks to another harness and the low and high beams are routed together well i took the main harness off the routed one and the new bulb works just fine in the main harness but wont fit in the headlight housing and doing that any way completely disconnects the high beams with the way it's set up so my question is i need a new routing harnes for the high and low beams but cant find one so if some one can give me a web site for the part i need if any one knows what i'm talking about i would really appreciate it
Maybe a junk yard, or rebuilding the harness yourself is possible but it would be a dealer item or you can check with your local body shop for the harness as they may be able to get one from a supplier thats cheaper than the dealership prices but overall it should cost around 40 bucks for a pigtail harness.
Q:I bought a 1993 toyota pickup and there was no head unit in it, so i was going to put a sony head unit in that i had and when i hooked it all up nothing worked so i took it all back apart and tested the wires that lead into the truck and only the cigarette lighter had 12 volts the rest of the wires did not so i was wondering why and where does the stock wiring harness lead to in the truck that i could check to see if its hooked up on the other end
your fuse box under the dash will have the fuse that is popped. test with a test light and replace the blown fuse, but make sure that there are no frayed wires in the radio harness that will potentially pop the new fuse. the fuse box on the yota's is normally under the drivers side dash, to the left of the brake pedal on the fire wall.
Q:I have some bad wires in my 01 jetta and i would like to know how/where I order a new wiring harness. How do I get the part number and who do I order it from?
If it can be ordered get it at the VW dealer or the wrecking yard.Take your tools. A little tape or splice and solder bare wires will work.
Q:I recently bought a lt1 engine and auto trans for my v6 1994 camaro because the v6 motor and auto trans are junk. And I was just wondering would the stock v6 wire harnesses work for this motor.
no you have two more spark plugs and fuel injectors on the v8 than the v6 so right there your missing four wires also the v6 takes in less gas so even if you somehow wired in four more wires it still would not run at all you will need to change the wiring harness, computer, transmission and motor mounts to make it all fit correctly after that you would need a bigger radiator and go get or cut your drive line to fit once all that is done it will run ok but more than likely unless you had someone that does it for a living do the job which would mean you need alot of money it probably wouldn't run right I would just stick with a different v6 save you much head ache best of luck hope this helps
Q:I have a 2000 impala, and just got a aftermarket stereo because the ones on impalas mess up too easily, but anyways i connected all the wires, ground on the screw, all the speaker wires, the ignition wire is hooked up to a red wire coming from the stereo, and im assuming since the other one is red, that this one goes there, and i got the basic GM harness, i dont want to wast money on the chime ones, also got a antenna adapter, but when i plug everything in you can hear it like it just reset then when you press Display, the time an everything else glows up, but turns back off and nothing else works, im assuming its the ignition wire but give me your opinions please.
you didn't connect the wires rightthe plug in to your stereo have all the colors and you connect them to the wire harness same colors, some of em are white and black and solid white so make sure tyou got em all connected right
