the wiring is pretty simple on that engine. any decent shop should give you a crude diagram. if not, post it again i'll try to take you through it.
Q: I would like to install an aftermarket radio in my 2004 chevy impala, actually my dad will probably install it since he sa lot more experience with automotive stuff. i have been doing some looking at other questions posted on here and some talk about how the gauges will be messed up if i remove the stock radio. will this still happen if i get the wiring harness, or does the harness solve this problem. If I were to take it and have it installed at a store would this not be a problem?

Q: complete wiring harness for engine lights and dash removal and installation time
In 99% percent of all shops you go to, depending on the the problem of your wiring, they all go by whatever time it takes to remove and install. There may be a actual book time, but most shops don't observe it
Q: i drive a 2001 Monte Carlo SS, and just recently the radio died on me, so i went out and bought an after market radio thinking that i could just pop the old one out and throw the new one in, but unfortunately i need to find a wire harness that would be compatible with my car. i have traveled to a couple Advance Auto Auto-zone stores around my area and they all say the same thing sorry, but we don't carry a compatible wire harness for your car. Does anyone know where i can find a harness that will work with my car? i really don't want to have to cut and splice the original wires.

Q: Here is my situation: I have a a Pioneer DEH-1600 already installed in my 99 accord which my dad paid to have it installed at pepboys. I recently just purchased a Pioneer DEH-1300mp to replace my old one because I wanted an aux input. The problem is that I know little to nothing about wiring. I can take things apart and install things but I have never tried wiring. The stereo I purchased came with a wire harness as well and I was wondering if I have to completely rewire the harness or if I could just unhook the old stereo and plug the new one in. Especially since the two pioneer stereos are the same model line, I would think that they would use the same wire harness. But unfortunately I do not know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Q: I have an aftermarket radio that I previously had installed in my old car, that I want to put in my new car. (2004 dodge stratus). The stratus came with an mtx subwoofer and amp already installed from the other owner. The car has the factory radio currently installed. I was wondering if I can use a wiring harness for the after market stereo so I don't have to splice or cut any wires with that subwoofer already hooked up or if I'll need something else. Thank you.
If everything is factory and the PO didn't hack your wires up, you shouldn't have to. Ether way, we are talking about one wire here compared to the rest of the harness. Why sweat it?
Q: I have a 1994 Geo Tracker and want to install a kenwood head unit. I'm suppose to find something about which wiring harness I need? I don't know anything about cars. I'm suppose to find out which harness I need so I can tell my boyfriend to get it. I can't find it anywhere on google. Help :)?

Q: How can i wire my OEM harness i purchase at the parts store for my Electric fan. Is there a way for me to Not to wire it into the A/C compressor and it work . the instructions say to wire it into the A/C compressor wires. Mine does not work . Any other alt. I don't not want to wire a toggle switch
You can wire it into the ignition switch so it runs all of the time. Make sure you use a relay or you will burn out the ignition switch. Use a relay no matter how you hook it up. OR, you can buy a sensor that goes into a radiator hose. It's a sensor with a adjustment knob or screw that has a thin sensing tube coming out of it. You loosen the radiator hose clamp and hose, slip the tube into hose so it's in the coolant flow, and tighten the clamp. You set the knob or knobs on the module to come on at about 190 degrees. Then you wire it into the fan. Directions should be included. You must use a relay or it will burn out the module. Check out stores like Pep Boys or Autozone or Advance or JC Whitney for one. Not expensive and you can install it yourself. You can wire it so it only comes on if the ignition switch is on and the car is at 190 or better.
Q: Hello, I am fixing up alot of my old cars electrical systems. So far I got everything taken apart just fine. I have a 1987 Chevy Celebrity with its stock stereo. I am trying to prepare it to get a new system in there. I am however not too knowlegable when it comes to the harness' that connect the stereo system all together. The connections it has are the regular power connection. in the corner 3 small connectors one on top of the other, and on the other side of it another small connector by itself. Is there any guides or anything I use to figure out how to convert thiss orr?thanks, any help will be greatly appreciated.
The small white connector has the constant power wire (orange) and an illumination wire (dark brown). The black connector has the key-switched power (yellow), ground wire (black), and another illumination wire (gray). It may also have a power antenna wire (pink). The white 4-pin connector has the front speaker wires. Left positive (tan), left negative (gray), right positive (light green) and right negative (dark green). The blue connector has the rear speaker wires. Left positive (brown), left negative (yellow), right positive (dark blue) and right negative (light blue). The thick black wire is an AM/FM antenna plug. You can purchase a wire harness adapter that fits all the power/speaker plugs. The Metra part number is 70-1677.
