Q:i am adding an amp to a 2004 corolla just for 2 subs.i have my hi low converter and i need to connect it to the left and right speaker.my stock radio has an available slot for another wire harness. do i need another 1?: use your rear speakers to feed your line output convertor(LOC) since your amp will be in the trunk i assume no long RCA's will have to be used thusly reducing any noise problems greatly. your loc has a right and left input so hook up one side to the left speaker and one to the right.your loc may have a ground wire to so of course ground it to to an existing bolt is possible or use a self tapping screw tjo make a new hole. you can use those T-taps in this case to make your connections to the factory speaker wires since this connection is not heavy duty. that extra harness at the deck you speak of is prob. for a higher end factory deck changer or fac. amp application, not applicable in this case!

Q:i recently totaled my last car, a 1999 ford escort se sport. i had a nice custom sound system in my escort, which i pulled out after the wreck i'm buying a 1996 ford probe gt. its a sweet ride 24v 2.5 litre v6. custom six speed racing transmission but anyways. i want to put my system in. i have a kenwood head unit and i was ust wondering if anyone knows whether the stereo wiring harness is the same in an escort as it is in a probe. i know that the probe was actually designed and built by mazda, so idk if the electrical is american or japanese: The wiring harness is not the same. The one you need is Metra Part #70-1770. The install kit isn't the same either. Metra Part #99-5510. Total cost between the two on OKorder is $21.

Q:a shop is doing a n engine swap for me (due to my lack of time and place). I specifically told them not to pull the interior wiring harness out because it was not needed to convert the wiring. They did anyway are are now trying to charge me 3 times what they quoted. It would be a huge help if some one knew about how many hours it takes to remove and replace th interior wiring harness in a '91 honda civic dx. Thanks: Interior wiring harness? wat kind of swap did u do? it appears they did not know what they were doing and u basically went to the wrong shop.

Q:i purchased a wire harness but it does not match up. the vehicle does not have premium sound either. all the wire harness i see online are the same as the one i have that doesnt fit. how do i find the right one? also all the wire diagrams i found for the vehicle show different colors than what are there: Isuzu Rodeo Wiring Diagram

Q:Could I just wrap the exposed wire together and tape it tightly around with electrical tape if I do not wanna solder?: Yes, you can definitely do that. Just watch out because behind some receivers it will get hot and the adhesive on the electrical tape will melt off and then the tape will fall off. Also just taping the wires will not provide as secure or strong signal as a soldered connection. I have used just electrical tape for a once receiver before, but never again I did it once and it blew my radio fuse when the electrical tape fell off, two of the wires touched and shorted. I know people who have just used electrical tape and it worked fine for them but I would recommend soldering it so you won't have to do it twice if it comes undone and replace a fuse. Q:I was told to install a new CD player in my car I have to get an adapter to connect the cars factory hamrness to.the harness that came with the radio. Where can I find one and how much and what's the best brand and can you show me a picture of what one looks like: any store like wal mart,best buy or auto parts store should carry it they say what make,model and year they will fit and the wires are all color coded for ease. just tell a person at the store what you need and they will show you and help find the right one. price wise varies from $7 to $14 depending on where you go but under $20 you most likely will also need an install kit for your dash to make the radio fit properly they can help you with this also. Q:i just put in a new stereo in my truck and everythings all set and working but the wiring harness came with 2 seperate harnesses shown in the link i have here. can anyone tell me what the grey plug is for with the two aduio plugs on the end and 2 blue wires?: it is in case your vehicle comes with the factory woofer so you can plug that rca jack to the subwoofer out of the new radio, if you don't have the woofer don't worry lincoln expedition and mustang have the same harness and woofers

Q:I have a 1987 toyota pickup and When I tried following the color-code diagrahm I found online I crossed two wires and had a major melt down. I took a few hours and seperated all the witres that were melted together, and now I don't have a cig lighter or center clock. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to hook my CD player up to the ignition system, unless someone knows something I don' (pretty likely in this field). If I can't do it that way, is there a way to wire it straight to something else that is always on when the truck is running and off when it is off, or should I run it straight from the battery? Q:Basically over about a four month period the radio/cd player in my truck was going on and off. It would work sometimes randomly, but now it is completely dead. I changed all the fuses and that isn't where the issue is. I have the original radio and I don't really want to replace it. I feel like if the fault were in the radio itself, it would have simply gone dead and not worked. I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or if anyone has any advice about what the cause could be? The truck itself is 17 years old, so it's a possibility that over time a wire came loose, or even for the radio to die. It came with a 5 cd changer that is in the cab, and I noticed at the very beginning before it starting cutting on and off that it would say that it couldn't read cd's. That was probably a few days prior, and then when the radio did actually work, the same problem persisted. What do you think the problem is?: I use a Multi-Tester (Volt-OHM-AMP) meter. I check each wire--for continuity. I also decide on the ground.(common ground).or a direct ground at the 12-volt battery./ I like to use a direct wire--from the 12-volt battery./with a in-line fuse/ I most times use the cigaretter/plug-in as my ground point./ Or I even run a ground wire back to the 12-volt battery./ The radio may have been running hot.and you placed wires at a terrible location./ (re-check the installation) If this is a automobile application--the 5 disk CD Player--will have Shock/detection/protection. Or.you may only be able to use store bought--CD's. NOT--ones you made on your computer. Try that. See if store bought CD's work better./ Most radio applications have fuses--that are very difficult to inspect--without a magnifying glass. I use 10-AMP for such things./
