- Q: I tried to put a cd deck into my car but i got power and sound barely out of the passenger door speaker. My friend that helped me with it said just go get the wire harness and see how it works. could i do without the harness and just try to splice them together or not?
- you can but i highly recomend gettin the harness cuz its much easier, and it dont cost that much, i wouldnt cut the wires of the car
- Q: Hi, I am planning to install a newer car deck/head unit for my 1990 nissan 240sx, it already has a older panasonic deck. So when I took a look at the wiring harness I realized that from the deck to the after market harness there exists a black ground wire, and from the after market harness to the factory harness there does not exist a black ground wire, this means that the after market black ground wire is not really connected to anything through the factory harness, the older deck works fine. I was wondering when I install my newer deck, do I need that black ground wire, will it cause any problems if i keep it like that?Thank you.
- it is likely the old units chassis slides into a metal frame, that is a chassis ground, that or like gordy sayz thru the antenna, he all so went on to say you need to find anything metal to ground, look for a screw or drill a hole, make sure the paint is scraped off, the new unit may have a connection to put a screw thru if not u have to attach one, make sure the screw is turned down tight to have as much contact to the cars metal as possible. avoid extending the ground wire, buy a multimeter for less then 20.oo to test wires it is a good investment for a diyer.
- Q: I am looking for a interior wiring harness that won't cost me a fortune. Dallas Mustang is selling it for $620 and that is too much. Can someone please tell me any one who might be selling the original interior wiring harness for a 1967 mustang for less that $620. Thanks
- There is more than one wiring harness. Year One sell a dash harness for about $485. An instrument cluster harness for about $160. You need to get used to the fact that replacement parts for a classic car are expensive. This is especially true if you are looking for OEM style parts. It is fortunate that you can even find parts so plentiful for a classic car. Be thankful that you are not tryig to find parts for something like a Rambler American or a 64 Chrysler 300.
- Q: i think i found the reason why it melted the wires. my windsheild wipers never did work on anything but high since ive had the car so i think it was a bad wiper motor that over heated the wires then they all melted together.
- If you do splice the wires, you will do better if you solder the wire ends and use a shrink cover, which is a piece you slip over the soldered area and heat to shrink it to the wire. If you use wire connectors they can vibrate and the wire will break at the connection, and sometimes they get a corrosion inside them because most are a small aluminum sleeve that you crimp and they break also. If you are replacing the melted wire be sure you use the same size or guage wire for the splice.
- Q: I installed the HID kit without the harness for a couple of months and my friend said that it'll be better if I put the harness in since it draws electricity directly from the battery. Before I put the harness on, the lights were fine and when I installed the harness, it got brighter. Is this due to the wiring harness or something else?
- after a few minutes of using hid without the relay the cables will get hot and create ohms so the energy will pass slow and less causing your headlights brite low when you use the relay the cable who feed the hid will automatically change from one cable to another keeping the cables fresh and cool so more energy will pass by making your lights brite a lot more you can connect the hid directly from the battery but you have to use a heavy wire so wont heat so easy and you don't need the relay, but relay is usefully because if something goes wrong relay will goes off and nothing happen is like a fuse another thing is the battery only start the engine, when engines start the alternator do the job so replacing a battery with another one more heavy dont do a thing replace your alternator with a heavy one and you are done
- Q: I got it done at bestbuy. and everything is overpriced there I need a wiring harness for a JVC kd-g320 connecting to my 1989 buick century. Any clues where i can get it?
- count the number of pins in the rear of the deck where the harness is supposed to go intoif you count 16 pins then heres your harness.cgi.OKorder.ca/JVC-16-PIN-WIRE-HARNE off of OKorder!
- Q: i just recently bought a 93 del sol with a 94 gsr swap. well the previous owner decided to use the integra wiring harness for the entire car. so my harnesses are all cut up. so where can i find all the factory wiring harnesses for cheap?

- Q: Can wiring harnesses for car stereos be re-used? If so, are they specific to the car, the stereo, or both? Right now I've got an older JVC stereo in my '01 Chevy Prizm (same as Toyota Corolla). I'd like to avoid having to buy a new harness, and one of the stereos I'm looking at is JVC. Thanks.
- the wires can be reuse every thing unless they broken just add new ends or rewire ive never change mind wires come with the radio and speaker wire stay in car so really you dont have much to do but replace and rewire. shouldnt need to buy anything other than system
- Q: I need a new wiring harness for my rx7 and idk if this one will work?
- Like Old Man Dirt said, it most likely wouldn't be worth the cost. If your stock FD turbos are in good shape, chances are that you'd be better off leaving it as-is until one or both of them go south. And when that time comes, it really depends on what your power goals are, what you want to do about an intercooler (stock one is horrible about heat soaking). Read up on the rx7club to get a better idea of what you want in a single turbo conversion.
- Q: I need to know where the wiring harness comes from for the front radar on a BMW E90 (3-series) vehicle equipped with the 'Active Cruise Control' (ie. ACC) option. Please link to pics of where the harness connects to the radar and where the harness joins the main wiring harness for the vehicle. Thanks.
- What you need is ALLDATA(online service manual). This will have the wiring harness diagram that you need. There is even a cannon plug connector diagram that can tell you which wires go where. It's about thirty bucks a year per car, but is worth it for all the information that it contains.
