- Q: have a pioneer deck id like to put in but not sure whether or not the stock radio has a harness or not without tearing it apart
- yes it just plugs into the back of the radio but it wont just plug into to replacement radio, you will need to buy another harness that you plug the factory into then it connects to the new radio or. you could just tap into the old radio wires (don't need a harness) and hard wire it in Radio 12v red/white + radio harness Radio Ground black/white - radio harness Radio Ignition (GMLAN Serial Data) Radio Illumination N/A Factory Amp Turn-on pink + radio harness Power Antenna yellow + radio harness LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash for this Radio Ignition (GMLAN Serial Data) go to the fuse box and use the fuse for the sunroof (even if you don't have one the fuse is still there)
- Q: I have a 09 subaru forester nonnav standard audio package, looking to replace the stereo with an after market one. I bought the harness and I was curious if im better off sudering the wires or just splicing them together and using electrical tape? Or crimping them. Any suggestions?
- i think soldering's a pain in the butt, and always end up melting or burning something i'm not supposed to. so if it were me, i'd just use a wire cutter and clamps, or those caps that screw onto two wires twisted together. just make sure you have enough wire exposed for a good, solid connection. god luck, and happy holidays!
- Q: I have a 1994 toyota pickup 2wd. Just recently it had a wire burn up on the wiring harness running to the alternator from the main harness. It burned the ground clean off the alternator the first time then I fixed the wiring and the second time it did it again but on the ground running to the fender but it was the same wire but on the other side of the plug in. When going down the road, the lights and radio would start skipping then the truck motor would start skipping also then just shut completely off. Thats where i found that wire burnt up. I can't fix it after two attempts. Please help
- When a vehicle gets to around 15 to 20 years old is when wiring problems usually develop. The places that I would at look first are all the ground wires, ground to engine, engine to chassis, chassis to body, etc. As the ground wires on a vehicle get crusty with age you get bad connections (it's called resistance in the circuit), this will cause back feeds.and cause components to go haywire. This is what I would do, clean off the surface where the wire goes, make it shine and put a dab of never seize on it. Your ground connection at that point will last for many years. You will want to check the ground wires themselves, when they get old enough they can fall apart inside under the insulation. While your at it, also go over the positive side of the circuit like the battery cable to the starter solenoid where you have the positive feed connection for inside the cab. One more thing, pull the harness plug that goes into the firewall to see if your contact points are crusty and corroded. This is the best I can give you without looking at it, I think it will help you.
- Q: I am trying to install a 92 chevy caprice 5.7 liter into a 73 pontiac grandville. Is there a wiring harness that I could purchase to help with the wiring?

- Q: What are the best of the car harness?
- In simple terms: the selection process needs to meet the quality requirements. The car harness is about to ask for traceability, so your craftsmanship must be done at this point. There is all the equipment, fixtures, fixtures must be added foolproof facilities. General vehicle wiring harness are used in the form of pipeline processing, the other open line, crimping do not talk, in full accordance with the IPC standard selection process, equipment can be.
- Q: I need to connect my radio illumination wire on my 1990 honda accord but I dont have a illumination wire connected to my radio. But I have the wire. And there isnt a dimmer wire in my car. How would I go about this?
- You would have to figure out which wire behind the headlight dimmer switch is the dimmer wire, and connect your radio dimmer wire to that with a longer piece of wire and secure your connections. Im not sure the wire color but it should be one of the thin wires coming off of the headlight dimmer switch, you may have to test the wires with an ohm meter to find the one that drops voltage as you dim the lights!!!!!!!
- Q: i have a mercury mystique gs wiring harness and i need to replace it so i was thinking why not copy the same layout as the old one i found one at junk yard thats fairly good shape i mean it doesnt work but i can copy it to make a new one so im wondering if anybody can direct me to how i can make one that looks and works exactly the same as a brand new wiring harness see if i had the option to buy a new one i would but they dont sell them anymore so im kinda stuck at this difficult decision
- The hard part will be finding all the special connectors. Then it boils down to making sure that you match the pins at both ends. You will have to use your own color coding or also do a lot of research to find the right colored wires. A soldering pencil that works on resistance is a handy tool, but a gun with a sharp point will do or a pencil iron. It is more work then I would want to do, but considering the cost of a replacement that is custom made it will be much cheaper. Some items are not in the system by the way and are what are called depot parts, which means that they are maybe a month away. A lot of parts persons don't know how to find obsolete parts, so maybe try a different dealer who as a real parts-man who can find what you want.
- Q: I need to know where the wiring harness comes from for the front radar on a BMW E90 (3-series) vehicle equipped with the 'Active Cruise Control' (ie. ACC) option. Please link to pics of where the harness connects to the radar and where the harness joins the main wiring harness for the vehicle. Thanks.
- What you need is ALLDATA(online service manual). This will have the wiring harness diagram that you need. There is even a cannon plug connector diagram that can tell you which wires go where. It's about thirty bucks a year per car, but is worth it for all the information that it contains.
- Q: I have a kenwood ddx-6019 double din dvd head unit, now my question is can I use any 22pin wiring harness for my head unit?
