Q: I'm a little confused on how to hook up my new stereo in my car. When i first got my car, it already had another car stereo in it(not the original stereo that came in the car) and im assuming that it already had a wire harness for the stereo in it. So im guessing that i dont need to buy another wire harness for a new stereo that i got, right? I was wondering something, does the wire harness thats already cut and spliced in the care already, just have to go into the new stereo i got? all i would need to do is make sure the wires match the one in the new stereo's digram? Also, whats the point of a new stereo coming with its own wires if whenever its put into a car, it needs a specific wire harness to your car?sorry if its confusing, im just trying to write down what i exactly mean.
This Site Might Help You. RE: how does a car stereo wire harness exactly work? I'm a little confused on how to hook up my new stereo in my car. Q: Anything spray solvent, application, etc. that I can spray these wires, wiring harness, etc. with to treat the dry rotting? Anything I can do to preserve the wiring of my vehicle.from corrosion. The plastic from cracking or dry rotting? For example, when trying to change a sensor, etc. when I pull the wire it is dry rotted, corroded, etc. Is there something that I can spray on all of my vehicle; wiring that will preserve it them for a few more years?
I'm sorry to tell you but they sound like they are already damaged. Especially if your are finding corrosion and the plastic is cracking. What you could do is check in a magazine called Hemming's Motor News and see who might have replacement electrical harnesses for your vehicle. If it is an older vehicle, the harnesses are pretty cheap, and they are easy to change if you work them slowly, one connector at a time. They come with all the wiring pre-done, with all the connectors attached. You just remove the old connector, snap the new one in place, and then move backwards and do it to the next part of the harness. A lot of cars have different harnesses for different functions, so you only need to change maybe 2 harnesses, because the others are OK. The harnesses typically stop at the firewall, where there is a large connector. The body electrical harness will be from the inside of the body to the instrument panel. while the engine harness, and also maybe the forward lighting harness, will start at the firewall and run forward. Good luck!
Q: I need the wiring harness to a 99-04 jeep grand Cherokee for the stereo Cd changer.
Local car audio shop (but pretty pricey) or u can try Walmart or Best Buy.
Q: I decided I wanted subs n my friend has them so I figured I'd let him do it since he had some experience well we took the stereo out and get ended up cutting the stereo wiring harness to the stock stereo there were 18 wires, majority were to the speakers, they ended not needed to b cut at all well I decided to ditch the subs but now what do I do I have no stereo or music would a professional be able to fix it, he tried to but now it sounds like crap I can't even blare it even a little with out it crackling or rattling I jus want it back to normal
I'm a little confused because of how you worded it, but If i'm correct, I think your problem is that you cut the normal cables that connect to the stereo. Either way, You can always reconnect the cables you cut by crimping them (Google it if you don't know what that is) by using crimp caps or splice connector caps It's really not that hard, the only pain in the *** would be crimping them in the location where the stereo goes because the cables can't come out of the car. You also said it was a stereo wiring harness, so the harness should be able to come out of the stereo. Just crimp/reconnect the cables together and it should sound like usual and start over from there. If you bought a aftermarket stereo, then you should get a vehicle specific stereo harness (like honda civic, lexus blah blah blah), attach it to your normal stereo harness and attach wires by color to color (grey to grey, white to white, purple to purple you know)
Q: I have a 2006 subaru impreza. About a year ago, the headlight burnt out. I went to replace it and realized that it wasn't the headlight. It was the wiring harness/socket that had burnt up. So, I replaced it with a new harness. I used good waterproof connectors and all was well. This weekend, the light burnt out again. Once again, the bulb was fine. The harness was burnt up. Why is it doing this? Is there an easy way to fix it? I'm getting worried because I'm running our of slack wire to keep doing this.
Turns out it's a pretty common problem. Some companies have come out with replacement harnesses with ceramic connectors so they won't melt. Go to this link and scroll down to the area that talks about replacement headlight connectors

Q: all of the wire harnesses ive bout do not line up with all of the oem radio harness wires
The 08 Malibu uses a LAN system. The headunit communicates with many other things in the car. You cannot just remove the factory radio and use a regular wire harness. You need a special interface to trick the car into thinking the factory radio is still installed. Metra makes them. It's probably part# LC-GMRC-LAN-03, but check with your local car audio shop. Fair warning, they're not cheap. Probably ~$125 retail. Additionally, do you have steering wheel controls that control the radio? If so, these will be lost when installing anything aftermarket unless you purchase another interface. The Metra ASWC-1 (another $100 retail). This will plug into the GMRC interface listed above and will likely program itself (see instructions). Most of the late model GM vehicles are like this. Sucks. I know.
Q: How can i wire my OEM harness i purchase at the parts store for my Electric fan. Is there a way for me to Not to wire it into the A/C compressor and it work . the instructions say to wire it into the A/C compressor wires. Mine does not work . Any other alt. I don't not want to wire a toggle switch
You can wire it into the ignition switch so it runs all of the time. Make sure you use a relay or you will burn out the ignition switch. Use a relay no matter how you hook it up. OR, you can buy a sensor that goes into a radiator hose. It's a sensor with a adjustment knob or screw that has a thin sensing tube coming out of it. You loosen the radiator hose clamp and hose, slip the tube into hose so it's in the coolant flow, and tighten the clamp. You set the knob or knobs on the module to come on at about 190 degrees. Then you wire it into the fan. Directions should be included. You must use a relay or it will burn out the module. Check out stores like Pep Boys or Autozone or Advance or JC Whitney for one. Not expensive and you can install it yourself. You can wire it so it only comes on if the ignition switch is on and the car is at 190 or better.
Q: I have to plug up a Nisan antenna adapter to my aftermarket radio. The adapter has a blue wire. Its is suppose to be connected to the radios power-antenna/turn on lead. Do anyone know which wire is the turn on lead?
In most after-market radios, the power antenna wire is solid blue. Some don't have a true power antenna wire, though; they just have a remote wire. In this case, the wire will usually be blue with a white stripe. The difference is that a true power antenna wire will only produce voltage when you have tuner selected on the head unit, while a remote wire will produce voltage whenever the head unit is switched on, regardless of the source selected. Either will work to activate a power antenna (or antenna amplifier). P.S. You should connect the wire even if you do not have a power antenna. Many newer vehicles are equipped with antenna amplifiers which need to be activated through the power antenna wire.
