- Q: i was trying to install a new stereo to my car.but while puting on the stereo i didnt tape the harness wires and they crumbled to each other but then my stereo didnt want to turn on. soo when it didnt want to turn on i plugged in the old stereo and didnt work either .
- peel the burnt wires back and add new wiring to it by using butt connectors !
- Q: I have a 09 subaru forester nonnav standard audio package, looking to replace the stereo with an after market one. I bought the harness and I was curious if im better off sudering the wires or just splicing them together and using electrical tape? Or crimping them. Any suggestions?
- hope you don't have a factory amplifier running your speakers it may not work the speakers until you find out what wire on the amplifier is the one you have to power from your new head units remote turn on wire, blue with white line on aftermarket equipment on a factory stereo who knows.if you have no amplifier and the speakers are running right off the cars stereo you should be all set.im just mentioning this because most newer cars sometimes have other functions running threw the harness running your stock radio and if you disconnect the battery or your battery gos dead your factory radio will ask for a code before it will work again,or if you unplug the radio itself and may shut down other functions.your car may not do all these things i talked about,if so that's great but its better to go to a pro installer and pick his brain to make sure its alright to just start pulling your stock sound system apart, information is free and its better to be safe than sorry.hope this safes you some headaches.
- Q: I have a 2006 subaru impreza. About a year ago, the headlight burnt out. I went to replace it and realized that it wasn't the headlight. It was the wiring harness/socket that had burnt up. So, I replaced it with a new harness. I used good waterproof connectors and all was well. This weekend, the light burnt out again. Once again, the bulb was fine. The harness was burnt up. Why is it doing this? Is there an easy way to fix it? I'm getting worried because I'm running our of slack wire to keep doing this.

- Q: Hi, I picked up a 1988 Honda XR or (LX) 600. It has everything except the wire harness. Is there a way I can wire everything together myself just to see if the engine will run? Have coil, cdi, etc. I guess the better question would be, does anyone know where I can find schematics on where the wires go? Bike bandit doesn't seam to have an image of where the wires connect together. Thanks!
- why waste time like that. invest in a used wiring harness from OKorder, and put it on. If it works and runs your done. if not resell it on OKorder and move on.
- Q: I have two orange wires that come from aftermarket wire harness that are for a dimmer and illumination but no wires this color coming from the aftermarket car stereo wire harness. Are these wires not to be used then? No dimmer? Thanks

- Q: Hi,I'm looking for the wire connectors for the back of the navigation display and the DVD units as shown in the two pictures below
- Connectors are usually items that you must buy from the dealer.
- Q: I bought the car as a repo, and whoever had the car before me cut it out of the dash while installing a new stereo. Im pretty sure they cut out the wire for the heater controls light too. I would think they are supposed to light up too. The car is a 2001 Ford Taurus Sedan. I would also like to find a pdf file perhaps, on the diagram for the wiring. If you could answer these, I would really appreciate it thanks.
- Your best bet to piece the wiring harness back together is to hit a junk yard. Find one that is wrecked. I would almost guarantee that the wiring will be good. As long as the thing didn't catch fire or anything. The wiring diagram will will probably be more trouble to find than the parts. I don't think ford even puts them in their service manuals.
- Q: Hi,I want to install an aftermarket radio in my 1996 Honda Accord, but I realized that my accord does NOT have a vehicle factory wiring harness on the radio wires for some reason. I understand that when you buy an aftermarket stereo you are going to need a harness, but it has to connect to the factory harness already installed in the car. I got it really cheap so I'm expecting some problems like this. What should I do?

- Q: Could this be the ignition switch or switch wiring harness problem?
- As the switch wiring is pretty much stationary all of the time I would assume it is the switch that has failed. That said, if your truck is parked somewhere that mice have access to it, you could have had some chewing of the wires and an intermittent short somewhere in the harness. Electrical problems are always a giant pain to diagnose, good luck!
