Q: Anything spray solvent, application, etc. that I can spray these wires, wiring harness, etc. with to treat the dry rotting? Anything I can do to preserve the wiring of my vehicle.from corrosion. The plastic from cracking or dry rotting?For example, when trying to change a sensor, etc. when I pull the wire it is dry rotted, corroded, etc. Is there something that I can spray on all of my vehicle; wiring that will preserve it them for a few more years?: I'm sorry to tell you but they sound like they are already damaged. Especially if your are finding corrosion and the plastic is cracking. What you could do is check in a magazine called Hemming's Motor News and see who might have replacement electrical harnesses for your vehicle. If it is an older vehicle, the harnesses are pretty cheap, and they are easy to change if you work them slowly, one connector at a time. They come with all the wiring pre-done, with all the connectors attached. You just remove the old connector, snap the new one in place, and then move backwards and do it to the next part of the harness. A lot of cars have different harnesses for different functions, so you only need to change maybe 2 harnesses, because the others are OK. The harnesses typically stop at the firewall, where there is a large connector. The body electrical harness will be from the inside of the body to the instrument panel. while the engine harness, and also maybe the forward lighting harness, will start at the firewall and run forward. Q: I have a 2005 pontiac g6 gt with the premium monsoon sound system and the Cd player has stopped working a while back and have just recently bought a new one and I would like to have the jvc KW-ADV790 installed in it. Q: i have a pontiac sunfire 2000 and the wiring harness is like 110$ but for a 99 it s 10.99 why does it make such a big difference? i have the simple version no power locks or windows: because their completly different the 110$ one retains all of the chimes and warning signals, the 10$ one does not it has nothing to do with the year of the car, you can buy the 00 stereo harness for 10 bucks as well. just go to a guy audio shop or search the internet you dont need the harness that retains the vehicles chimes. only difference without it is if your key is in the ignition and your door is open it doesnt go ding ding ding foreverthats all really find the 10$ one for your car, its out there. i have a 02 gand am, same thing with mine. mine was 15 bucks for just the straight harness. not warning signal one

Q: I have a 1994 Acura Integra LS manual transmission and the wire harness is bad, my friend has a 1992 Acura Integra LS also with a manual transmission and he has the wire harness for it still. Would it be compatible with my car?: Maybe. The 1992 is second generation while the 1994 is third generation. However, if the connectors are the same there is still a good chance they are compatible. EDIT - you can check out the part numbers for the exact harness in the source. If they are the same part number you are in if not, I doubt the store would stock two different part numbers of the same thing.

Q: I have started a wood splitting/hauling business and so far business is great. Problem is it would be even better if I could find where to get an electronic brake control module for my truck. My trailer is equipped with electronic brakes but my truck does not have the module or wiring harness. Where can I find this and roughly how much will it cost me? I have 2, possibly 3, cords going out tomorrow and would like to have this hooked up before delivery. I know because I work at one. I recommend a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller. They work great and have a lifetime warranty. That will run you anywhere between $90-$150. Now, for the rest of it there are a few things you need to look for. The first thing to do is see if the truck came with a towing package. If it did, then there should be a factory wiring harness installed on the truck. The harness will run from the front to back and may or may not have a 7-way receptacle under the bumper. If there is a 7-way and it has the vehicles brand name on it, then you have a harness and all you need is the controller and maybe the controller harness that fits your truck (if you don't have the factory supplied harness in the glove box). Otherwise you might have to crawl under there and look for the harness. If there is a harness but no 7-way then you will need that also. If there is no factory harness under there, then you will have to run 2 wires from the front of your truck to the back and splice in the rest of the wires, both on the controller and at the back. I would not recommend doing this yourself. It's not too complicated but it takes a few hours and can be very frustrating. The best thing to do is find a trailer dealership with a repair shop. They will have everything you need and can do the work too. Yes it will cost alot more but they will know what needs to be done and can do it in probably 2.5 hours (complete wiring), 30 min (if you just need a controller), 1 hour (controller and receptacle only). A truck equipment shop may also be able to do this. Sorry if this was confusing, but that's why most people just have the work done. There are so many variables. Best of luck with your business!
