- Q: 2002 Pontiac Montana was fine on the way to work, then when I start the car up to leave it sounds like the cars with bad mufflers do (really loud), and there is a strong smell inside the car. You can not really smell anything on the outside, and the muffler was perfectly fine (at least no noise). The muffler is still in place at the back, and we couldn‘t see under it because it was too dark. Any idea what it could be? It started after being parked all day.
- one of the exhaust pipe segments may have come disconnected, or loose. This can happen all of a sudden from the time you park your car, until the next time you get in it. It can be caused from the cooling cycle of the exhaust system. It's usually the connection right after your exhaust manifold.
- Q: wats the best exhaust system brand for audi r8 but i need one to make the gr8st sound nd it price plz thx
- The best exhaust system for an Audi R8 is the Capristo exhaust system. They make systems for Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, and pretty much every super car manufacturer out there. It even has a remote to open or close the bypass exhaust valve which allows you to control the kind of sound your car emits plus it adds horsepower. Prices will vary quiet extensivley, so I can't say exactly what price it is.
- Q: Just wondering and how much does a lift kit coast for one 2?
- Realistically, your not going to notice a big change in power when changing the exhaust. You might get a few extra horse power, but nothing very noticeable, except for a better sound. You didn't give a year, make or model but on the high dollar side of it, Borla exhaust sound really good. Or on the lower dollar side, I would check out Corsa and Magnaflow. A lot of people suggest Flowmaster, but beware, they have a terrible drone when cruising down the road. If you want to get the most out of your exhaust system, I would also add headers and a high flow cat. You can here any one of these exhausts on youtube, just type in your trucks make and model followed by the make of exhaust and you should get multiple videos to watch and listen. Here's a couple of links to get pricing.
- Q: were can i get performance exhaust systems for a mercedes Benz c55 amg 2007? cant find it anywhere.?
- I wouldn't go messing with the exhaust for performance. You aren't going to get any material increases in performance, will spend a lot of money, and due to changes in backpressure and flow, you may actually DECREASE power. AMG exhausts are pretty engineered to the max. Not much to be gained by messing with it. You can look into resonator removal for a more aggressive sound or other aftermarket companies (try Kleeman, Brabus or Renntech as mentioned above), but don't expect performance gains.
- Q: I already have exhaust, tint, and a sound system.
- change s2000 antenna, get some hids, paint rims (save cash for new shoes) Mine are gold , cold air intake, springs and shocks.
- Q: whats a cat back system and whats the diff between that and a muffler. if they are both desighned to make it sound louder then why not just get the muffler??? its cheaper and makes the car look nicer
- Dolomite edit: Or diamond, if you include the slang meaning of rock!
- Q: I have a honda, and my dad told me he was going to put a turbocharger on it, I‘m no wiz at cars, but is there some type of performance exhaust that I should put on my car?
- A normal G35 takes 30 psi in both the front and rear tires If it is a G35 Sport it varies between 33-35 psi front and rear. Never Ever fill tires to the max pressure on the side. Vehicle Manufacturers engineer the the Tire Pressures for the vehicle to give the best traction, braking and fuel mileage for a vehicle. They did the math dont screw with it. Anyone who is in the TIRE INDUSTRY KNOWS THERE IS NO GENERIC PRESSURE FOR VEHICLES AND SETTING PRESSURES 5-10 LBS BELOW THE MAX IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE GIVING MISINFORMATION. - Q: Im on a below 700 dollar budget and would like to know which one i should get between a cold air intake OR an exhaust system for my Mazda 3 4cyl 2.3L. Im leaning more towards the exhaust because of more horsepower and better noise, so all in all which one should i get, and from whom?
- 700 Budget? get both! The cold air intake off OKorder maby will cost 100 or so.wrap it with duct wrap or somekind of heat deflector VERY VERY important. High flow Cat about 200. and Dynomax muffer or a cherri Bomb lol
- Q: Land Rover can be partially submerged in water; how (if at all?) does the exhaust system differ from other exhaust engineering to prevent damage?
- It isn't a big deal. All you have to do is keep your revs high enough to help keep water out. In most cases, water fording will require higher revs anyway, and you will generally be in a lower gear for instant power if needed, so it isn't normally a problem. Even if this doesn't work out properly, and you do get water in the exhaust system, the vehicle can still run. I have managed to start my Rover with a flooded exhaust before, while it was still sitting in the water. They just don't mind it all that much, in the end. It isn't really a problem. It is the intake you should be worried about, and electronics. Neither are really much of an issue on Rovers if you are fording the water properly. Military vehicles have the raised exhaust systems sometimes for many reasons. It isn't required for fording, but the larger the exhaust pipe, the less pressure builds up to keep out water. Military vehicles are diesel, and tend to have very large low pressure exhaust systems. As well, the vehicles just aren't sealed up all that well, they don't provide good throttle modulation, and they have to be soldier-proofed. In such cases, it is generally best just to raise the exhaust outlet to avoid any potential issues, even if they are not likely.
- Q: i dont want a really loud exhaust a nice sound(quiet sound) but more performance than anything.
- trash them, or incubate them if they are fertilized.
