- No. Just so you know all vehicles come with a CAI from the factory. It's just plastic and has a convenient replaceable air filter. The after market shiny chrome ones don't do anything for power or mileage and the oil on the cleanable filters migrates to the MAF sensor wires and ruins the expensive MAF sensor. Leave it alone.

- first of all you want to maintain you money and purchase and an evo the money you spend on a cai and exhaust is probably 20% of the cost of a evo with your motor vehicle traded in. yet when your nevertheless itchin to waste some funds on your motor vehicle. than get an cat back exhaust equipment is gonna be the most important distinction maker. its gonna sound way better than your inventory exhust it received't upload a lot horsepower even if it is going to sound and seem plenty nicer than inventory. do not get headers or ignition equipment like all different guy stated cuz you do not choose it. except you get more beneficial means ie quick supercharger your inventory headers will do high-quality. cai isn't gonna upload any means that you're going to sense any distinction the typhoon intake from kn is three hundred$ and it says it provides you 6.5 at 5900 rpm which recommend you received't sense any distinction in any respect. and chilly air intake will probably make your serivce engine basic come on there no longer a lot you could do to the motor vehicle to make it that a lot swifter except you upload a short/supercharger. i'd recommend some awesome wheel for the motor vehicle. rims make a international of distinction for the apperenance of a motor vehicle. i'd extremely spend the money on something you will see.

- You may not like what I am about to say, but I think it is good advice based on what you are asking. Enjoy the car. The Mazda Rx8 is an enjoyable car without all of the added performance parts. When you do decide to add performance parts, keep it simple. I would go with a cold air intake and cat-back exahust and call it a day. Tinkering around with go fast parts is not an ideal situation when the engine is a rotary. The cold air intake and the correct cat-back exhaust can enhance the equation already baked into the vehicle without sacrificing reliablity. To my point, I believe Mazda will warranty Mazda performance parts on the Rx8, but not a turbo. I will say this, make incremental changes and see how you live with those changes and how the car handles it. You may be happy beyond belief with cai and catback. Enjoy the car. I hear it can be a wonderful ride.

- No, the fuel air ratio is already optimized as well as the coldest duct work possible from the factory, unless you poke a giant hole in the hood or run the inlet under the vehicle. I have seen many of the ones installed that pick up cold air under the vehicle, pick up sufficient water to bend connecting rods in a mild rain storm. Don't mix up the idea of cold air with that of a turbo inter cooler or turbo diesel after cooler, what happens in these designs will never occur in a naturally aspirated vehicle (without getting into too much detail).

- The other tubing is most likley vacuum lines for various apllications (cruse controll fuel pressure regulator ect) now, because of the year of the car i would say that it dose not have a mass air flow sensor its most likely a map (manifold absolute pressure sensor) dont go prying stuff apart, thats just bad advise. i would take it to a shop or let someone who knows what there doing fix it for you. EDIT: ? Lol yeah i said it backwards, i ment that it has a MAF not a MAP and i was using other vacuum lines for a point of refrence, not nessicarly exactly what they do, if i wanted to i could use Alldata or Mitchells on demand to tell you exactly what the lines are for. I wasnt tooting my own horn btw, its been a long week and its kinda hard to think straight right now.
