- Q: i just bought and exhaust system for my car. its from the resonator back. i planning on buying headers before i put anything on. i thinking about buying a high flow test pipe catalytic converter. but i was told putting this high flow catalyic converter would screw with my senor and more than likely make lights come on in my dash. the person that told me this said i should get my computer recalibrated but i dont know where to get that done or how much it will cost. he said i should just keep the stock converter. what should i do?
- Well thats a loaded question. For starters, it depends on the money your wanting to invest vs. the horsepower your wanting to gain. A good start was your exhaust to open up the air flow. You must remember the air thats coming into your motor. I would purchase a cold-air intake to increase air flow, HP, and gas milage. Thirdly, I would also get some new spark plugs. I would recommend NGK Iridium IX plugs. I installed on my eclipse and I really FELT the difference its important to have a quick spark.If your planning on purchasing a turbo don't even bother with headers as you will get a downpipe to replace your headers. Good luck tuning.

- Cat back. Is only the cat and muffler. The most effective part of the exhaust system for aftermarket is the start of the exhaust the extractors/headers. Get that as well as in a full exhaust. Start with headers only and you will feel a little difference and a K and N filter or any other brand of cotton. Get catback after the headers it will become a full exhaust system or if you got the money get it all at once. Keep the diameter 2inch to 2.5inch any more is no good for a NA engine. Big diameter is only good for turbo cars.
- Q: I bought a Catback Exhaust system from OBX Racing specific to my 2010 Mazda 3 S Sport. I took it to a licensed mechanic as to not void my warranty and he said he could not do it because VA requires there to be Cats on the vehicle and that I would have to buy one for him to install the system. I have no idea about exhaust systems but if I bought a Catback Exhaust system, doesn‘t it have Cats?
- The mechanic is a idiot its a CAT BACK meaning its from the tail end of the cat to the muffler and out the back so you should be using the stock cat Take it to another mechanic since yours clearly doesnt have all the sockets to a set Cheers (i recently bought a magnaflow exhaust for my 2006 mazda 3

- a full system will give you the most but you will need a power ommander as well. Stick with an Akrapovic leo vince or two bro's or yoshi a full system will set you back 1500+ and you may see another ten hp if your lucky. thats about 2000 w/power commander and a trip to the dyno. a good set of slip ons will get you 4-5 heres a link of some sounds just put the akrapovic on my kawi 1400

- Just don't get CAI and exhauste system from from OKorder. Any CAI and cat back muffler from well known companies like KN, AEM, Injen, Greddy ,Flowmaster, Magnaflow,and etc. will give you more of something something you want, HP. Turbo your car is another way to gain more horses.

- This would take some experimentation on your part. But one thing you need to know is that its not the same as other soldering. So you're going to have to get a propane soldering kit. Like 20$ or less at Home Depot or Lowes. And also a wire brush, emory cloth, etc. But in attaching cooper to galvanized pipe, I would try looking for a compression fitting for going from that size of galvanized pipe to the copper pipe and not do any soldering. If the galvanized pipe has no threads, get a die to thread it.
- Q: I am looking for louder engine noise while keeping the deep tone the car already has, while adding some horsepower along the way. - most ricer exhausts are usually the ones that give power, and thats talking catbacks, not fart canns welded on its very hard to find a performance exhaust for a 4cyl, that sounds good on a commonly modified car, let alonet on a base sentra. take a look at borla good luck
- Q: I bought a 2003 r1 on which the previous owner installed a stainless steel yoshimura rs-3 slip on. Some cop renowned for busting sportbikes for no reason gave me a 156$ ticket because my exhaust system is not legal, supposedly. the pipe wasnt modified and isnt noisier than the yamaha pipe (at idle at least) but im scared, i keep seeing on the website, not intended for street use and all, which is very bad. the previous owner told me he won in court with the same exhaust pipe, he had some kind of spec sheet that said the exhaust pipe is legal and sold in canada. so, where do i find that?
- Laws on excess noise are very subjective, based on what the officer considers too loud You don't say where you live, so defining whether that specific setup is illegal is impossible, Legally, NO after market exhaust is automatically legal, you must use the exhaust provided by the manufacturer or risk a ticket. Certainly, legality in another jurisdiction is meaningless. On the other hand, if you ride you bike in a courteous manner, NOT intentionally revving the engine, you'll find few complaints. If you drive the opposite way, expect a lot of hassles.
