As much as the aftermarket would like you to believe, there is just not much power to be gained by replacing anything from the catalytic converter on back. The smaller the engine, the smaller the gain. About all you get with a loud muffler is a lot of noise. It will sound kind of like an old tractor.

A tip when trying to get the exhaust in hangers: use WD 40 to lube the inside of them up and slide the hangers on. Have you received a quote from an exhaust place? You really need to turbo your RX-8 before you do anything else.
