- Q: We have a 2001 mazda tribute that has been leaking coolant and overheating. we thought it was just the radiator, so we replaced it, but it is still doing it. It leaks pretty rapidly, and overheats pretty fast too (in 1 to 2 miles of city traffic) Does this sound more like a hose or the water pump? how difficult will it be to replace the water pump?
- 2001 is not very old! If you can't see coolant leaking from some point when the engine is warm (and you WILL see it, and be able to track where it is coming from, if from a hose, a pipe, the radiator, or the pump, or a welch plug or some particular place in the engine bay), you could have a cracked head or block, or a blown head gasket. Another simpler possibility is the thermostat has gone bad. If the leak is from a head gasket or a crack inside the engine, a pressure test can be placed on the whole system to establish this. There could also be signs of coolant in the oil.
- Q: I replaced the water pump on my 1997 acura cl 3.0 v6 vtec. I set the timing how alldata said to. (Lined up marks on timing drive pulley and both cam pulleys) and put it all back together. Now when I start it the motor runs rough for about 45 seconds then it smooths out but won't rev past 3000 rpm. What are some possibilites it could be?
- looks like the force belt broke, or is slipping. The force belt connects the engine to numerous aspects, like your alternator which rates your battery, the water pump, which pushes the coolant around the engine and radiator to relax the engine, and your skill guidance pump, which pressurizes the hydraulic fluid to your skill guidance. do no longer force the motor vehicle back till you fix it. you're able to desire to heavily blow out the motor by using over heating it.
- Q: just changed the water pump on my lower unit installed the lower unit and started motor now there is no water coming out of the upper flow tube is it becouse the engine is not warmed up yet or is something not lined up ...........
- sorry but warming the engine will not affect the water flow. i had this problem i did not have the impeller installed properly.....took it to service center 3 hrs and $185 all new water pump kit fixed my problem . would have saved me alot of time and trouble if i had taken it in earlier
- Q: I want to either get a kit to rebuild the water pump or just by the entire assembly, but im not sure which water pump/kit that i will need for a 1997 mercury 25 hp 2 stroke.Serial Number 0G474648,1997 year, model is 25el according to transom plate.Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
- Water pump rebuild kit from Mercury, part# 99157T2, about $65. The kit includes the impeller, all gaskets and seals, wear plate and pump body insert. Sierra marine offers a cheaper kit, but their kit does not include the wear plate or pump insert, and these parts cannot be purchased separately from Sierra, so I would not recommend this kit, unless your wear plate and pump insert have been previously changed in the last 3 years.
- Q: After reaching a height of 50 feet , there should be enough pressure to hose around 20 to 30 feet of water from it for curing concrete structure ex: columns, slab area etc. How many inches ( diameter ) of rubber hose is required to plug the water pump for pumping water ?
- hp list of water pumps
- Q: someone told me my water pump may be going out and it sounds like their is a loose barron inside of it, so how much is it and and if i was to have someone else to fix it how much will it cost me
- type okorder type in your info and look for a how to tyhey have many there an dother guy layed it out pretty well
- Q: 2004 chevy impala 3.4 v6 The small leak is right behind the pulley of the water pump. Car is not overheating .the leak is only for a little while then it stops . water pump seems to be working fine but the leak ,what could it be ?
- Unfortunately, this quite often requires a new pump. It can be feasible (however not going) that the gasket is leaking - extra probably, the seal around the pulley shaft is the hindrance. Substitute is the one choice. Almost always, that is done while because the timing belt - has this been executed yet? If it was once executed before you obtained the car, its viable they tried to save lots of a few bucks via skipping the water pump. This is in most cases a foul move - the pump as a rule wears out at in regards to the same time - but it's cheaper, if they have been planning on getting rid of the car quickly. And when you consider that one quite often needs to be removed to access the other...You get the thought. Excellent success!
- Q: I have gotten oil in my coolant, and coolant in my oil..It might be the head gasket, no doubt, but many people said (online forums) that my bike, has issues with the seal that is separating oil pump from water pump. They go bad, and when they do, the oil mixes with coolant and vise versa. Now, I am seeking from professional help, on how to take out both of the pumps, without messing up timing, and also without messing up anything else. I have removed the entire exhaust system, dropped the oil pan, and i can see the oil/water pump pretty good. What i do not know is how to remove it properly. Any help is help, I have searched and searched on google and forums on how to perform this task, but couldnt find any specific help on how to remove the pump. Thank you!!!!!
- Most okorder for a good schematic of your oil pump and water pump assembly
- Q: Earlier today I was driving and my car shut off at a stop sign. I got it to start again and it shut off at the next stop sign, so after a few minutes I got it to start again and immediately pulled over as there was a small amount of smoke coming from under my hood. The temp gauge didn't say it was overheating, but I think it mightve been stuck, because that had to be what happened. After sitting there for a while it started and stayed that way for a while, I let the engine run. I drove it to the gas station and put some coolant directly in the radiator and the resevoir, and almost all of it leaked right out. I started to drive it home and had to pull over about 6 times to let it cool down because it kept overheating( temp gauge showed it this time). I think its the water pump that is leaking, but I know very little about cars, and was wondering if it could be anything else? Also, the heater wasn't working in the car today at all.
- The heater wasn't working because you were losing the coolant. If the cooling system is not full, the coolant won't circulate and warm coolant won't flow through the heater core. But the water pump on the Neon is not a known problem. I'm not saying that it's not the problem but it's not common. What I suggest you do is fill up the cooling system with water and start the engine. See if you can spot the fluid leaking out. If it is indeed the water pump, the pump is driven by the timing belt so the water would be leaking out at the bottom of the engine on the passenger side. If you don't see the coolant/water dripping out under the engine bay, it could be a bad head gasket and the coolant is disappearing inside the engine ( check under the oil cap, if it looks like a milkshake film under there, it can be the sign of a bad gasket ).
- Q: There is a 5.5KW before the pump head is now 25 meters and flow of 20 cubic meters, but not up to the requirements, I think this is like with a motor pump, lift more than 20 meters, the flow is about 40 cubic meters of water pump, please inform the models and parameters, thank you
- With the motor pump are pump according to the actual need of work with you in the head, under the same water doubled, the motor is certainly not enough, you should this motor pump change together in order to meet the requirements of.
