- Water pump setup? We bought a plot of land and me and my father found a deactivated water well in there. We checked and it's 328 feet deep and is still full of water. How would i go about setting up a pump on it? Best thing to do is call a plumber and ask about hooking up a well to a house. You can use a submersible pump or have the pump located somewhere near the well head or in a building nearby (a pump house say). Because it is so involved and back-breaking work, it is better to hire a PRO.
- Q: I have never had to deal with this and I am probably worrying about nothing but every time I run water, even for a second, the pump starts clicking on and off. Is it supposed to do it with every little thing? Every time the toilet flushes, or the water gets turned on to wash hands it goes off and keeps constantly going off until the water is shut off. Is this what it's supposed to do?
- Jadee is correct. Your pump is waterlogged. This is a condition where all the compressable air has mixed with the water in the tank and the tank is full of water clear to the top, not allowing for any compression, which is where you get the pressure to push the water out when you open a fixture. When you open a fixture, regardless of which one, the pump senses a drop in pressure immediately and starts up. As soon as you close the fixture, the pump, which is now pumping water into the tank, senses the pressure coming quickly to where it needs to be and shuts off. There needs to be air in the top of the tank to compress in order for the system to function. If you have a bladder tank, (usually a green or blue tank with an indented seam around the middle of it), then most likely the bladder that's in the middle of the tank to keep the air and water apart so they don't mix, has ruptured and is now allowing the very thing to happen that it was designed to stop. You can drain the system of pressure and most of the water by turning off the pump and repressurizing the tank thru the air nozzle on top or the top side. Open a couple fixtures and allow the water to escape as you put pressure into the tank, until you get air and the water quits. Then turn off the fixtures, turn the pump back on and let it pump up. That will give you an air cushion on top of the tank and will let you use the system till you can decide whether you want to replace the tank or just use it as a convential resevoir system of old, (before bladder tanks). The procedure to restore the system to functionality is the same if it's an older tank without a bladder, only you may have a drain spigot on that type of a tank that will allow for gravity drainage of the water, instead of pressurization. It's not an uncommon occurance for those of us on older wells that don't have bladder tanks. We have to drain and restart ours about once every year or two, depending on how much time the grandkids spend here.
- Q: I have had this water pump changed 2 times in 5 years is this normal for this car? It has a v6 motor.
- i wouldn't think that was normal, but what do i know? point being.....yea water pumps, in my experience, are pretty difficultly to change out....no average Joe could do it.
- Q: Pump flow 6M3/H is an hour, how many tons of water?
- Flow 6M3/H, that is, an hour can smoke 6 tons of water. But according to the power, head and flow calculated by formula, the water pump efficiency is 98%, can it be achieved?
- Q: How much would a water pump cost for a 1991 cadillac deville
- Water pumps are cheap.. its the install time and or labor cost to do it that is pricey
- Q: I think my water pump has crapped out on my 1997 Jeep Cherokee. I have been leaking coolant for a few days now and there is a puddle under my Jeep after I turn it off and my reserve tank keeps emptying out on me. I replaced the lower radiator hose and still the same problem. It is not over heating so I am wondering if it IS a water pump problem? If it is, could I do the work myself?

- Q: I'm trying to sell my 97 Ford Escort. It needs a water pump but I have no idea what the cost is. I just want to know so I can post an estimate of how much it costs on the site I'm selling it on.
- ok i looked it up if you have the base LX or sport escort with a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine the water pump is 62.99 at advance auto parts. a water pump gasket is 1.09 and it says its a good idea to replace your timing belt which is only 25.99 all prices are based off of advance auto parts, other stores will vary. and buya haynes or chilton repair manual so you know what your doing. good luck
- Q: After I replaced the water pump impeller in my outboard I fired up the motor and now its not pumping any water through the pee-hole at all and also the prop is spinning in the neutral position (motor seems as if it is in gear and trying to move). Would this be because of the shift rod or the drive shaft not being in the proper position and possibly the impeller is being span the wrong in the impeller housing cup?
- i am no expert on outboards. i did put an impeller on one with the same problem. no water output. seems there was a tube, that ran from the pump to the cylinder head. it was cracked, and the water couldnt reach the cylinder head. seems that the impeller shaft should always turn in the right direction, or it wouldnt cool in reverse, if you got this far , i am sure you will figure it out. you must be a pretty good mechanic to get that far,,
