- Q: how to remove water pump on 95 honda accord
- The water pump is located behind the timing belt, and one of the motor mounts also happens to be on the front cover. So you would need to support the engine, take the front engine mount off, take the timing cover off, remove the timing belt (good time to replace it, while you're in there), tensioners, pulleys, then remove the water pump. I'd replace the timing belt idler pulleys and tensioners as well. Installation is reverse of removal.
- Q: How long would it take before I would see water coming out of the exhaust bellow? I let it run for about 5 seconds or so and shut it of fearing it would burn up. Did this a few times and finally gave up. Pump wasn't hot and impeller was still good. Wondering if I just didn't let it run long enough?

- Q: Is the pump head related to the water level of the entrance and outlet? If the water level of the inlet and outlet is on the same level, but higher than the height of the pump, does the pump lift need to be coupled with this height difference?
- The head of centrifugal pump has nothing to do with the water level of the inlet and outlet. When the water pump installation position is lower than the pool water level, you can enter the pump by gravity, and when the pump installation position is higher than the water level of the pool, it depends on the pump suction process, the effect is good.
- Q: I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 v6 engine. My car has been overheating lately and my low coolant light came on so i put antifreeze in it and the light went off. I drove about 3 blocks and the low coolant light came back on again and the thermostat was at the hot mark so i checked the antifreeze and it was just about empty. I did noticed when I was pouring the antifreeze that some did run out the bottom of the car but it wasn't alot. Also I noticed that in the morning when I get up and drive my car the thermostat could be at cold but if I drive about 3 blocks it's almost at the hot mark. Please help me determine whats wrong with my car. Is my water pump bad?
- Another possibility: The Upper intake manifold could be leaking coolant into the engine. In other words, it is not an external leak. The leak is caused by the EGR valve actually melting the manifold, right by a coolant passage in the intake manifold. Again, check for milky oil (it'll look like dark butterscotch pudding....no really!). But be careful....a shady mechanic may tell you its a blown head gasket and it could just be this problem. If at all possible, have it checked out. If he says Blown head gasket, ask him to remove the upper intake only so that you can see it....there will be coolant and milky oil all over the top of the lower intake manifold if it's the upper intake problem. If it's diagnosed as a blown head gasket, this coolant/oil WON'T be there. The repair involves replacing the upper intake manifold completely, not just a gasket. Good Luck....
- Q: We lost power during the hurricane, we have well water. the power went out and we lost water also, what are the procedures to bleed and restart a goulds pumps c48a93a06 water pump?
- 1. you are going to need at least a couple gallons of water in a bucket to re-prime. 2. look for a plug at the top of the pump and remove it. 3. pour water into the plug opening, filling up the pump as much as you can. 4. put plug back in so at least one thread is grabbing. by doing this it will allow air to escape and won't be spraying water everywhere. it is also a good idea to keep your hand on the plug. 5. turn on electricity to pump. 6. when you start to notice pressure re-gaining tighten up the plug so it does not drip. It is also a good idea to have an outside tap on to get air out of the lines. Another thing is, it is a good idea to shut off water to toilets and washing machines before re-starting pump because small debris have a habit of clogging them up. When your pressure is back, drain your toilet and cold water line to your washing machine, flushing all the stuff out until you see nice clear water. Hope I helped and good luck.
- Q: My car is Grand Marquis. I want to remove the water pump. After removing all the bolts on the water pump, it is still there. I tried to hammer it in order to loose it, but it is still there. I use long tool to lever it off, but it is still there. I even break the corners of the water pump, but it is still there. PB Blaster is used, but useless. I am helpless. Can you help me?
- Lock down the pulley so it may no longer turn. eliminate the three bolts by skill of turning them counter-clockwise. Use a six factor field wrech to cut back threat of rounding off the bolt head.
- Q: water pump pulley has slight wobble in it. not seeing water yet....is bearing going bad
- either the bearings are going out, or the pulley is bent. either way you should go ahead and change the water pump, they are cheap and if you wait it will be a problem later when you get stranded. good luck
- Q: How many pumps does a 50 meter water head use?
- Deep well submersible pump head = dynamic water level to pipe outlet height + outlet pressure + hydraulic loss along courseTherefore, it is necessary to provide the dynamic water level of the well, the required flow rate, the pipe diameter, and the vertical height of the wellhead to the highest point, so as to estimate the pump head.
- Q: Ok, so I was driving the other day when I heard this quot;clunksound...my AC went out (stopped blowing cold), and power steering went out. I pulled over and one of the wheels where the serpentine belt goes on was off and obviously the belt was off too. I got it towed to a shop where they showed me I needed a new belt - it was ripped, and told me I need a new water pump...all together a 400 dollar job after labor and parts. I was hoping I would just need a new belt and they could bolt back on the wheel...From a chic standpoint, this seemed logical. I know nothing about cars and I'm always very skeptical when I take my car anywhere to get it worked on bc I could be told anything and wouldn't know the difference...Has anyone had a similar experience or does this sound like the problem? I have a 07 honda civic...around 80,000 miles.
- Price about right around $200.00 for all parts including new coolant.Plus labor. But a suggestion Honda had a recall on bad water pump pulleys in 06 maybe yours is covered under recall. Get vin number and call them, may get done for free, wouldn't hurt to ask. They'll need vin number and production date. If not a free job get estimate on repair from them to see if close to other one. Mileage doesn't matter if on recall list.
- Q: Every time i turn off the engine i hear like liquid noises behind the dash board in the drivers side. My fan isnt working properly but i just took a trip...4 hours away.. on the highway the temperature would be fine but on regular streets my temperature goes high pretty fast..i have been putting anti freeze pretty often lately because it goes low but there is no signs of a leak anywhere. Could it just be that my fan isnt working properly or is it because the water pump is going bad? or both? I have a 93 Toyota celica
- 17 Years...... Blown Head Gasket, Fans need to be Repaired {A/C Fan on at all times with A/C on, Radiator Fan Cycling as Engine Heats Cools}, Thermostat Removed, Cooling System Boiled/Flushed Out, New Thermostat Installed After Cooling System Cleaning, At 17 Years New Radiator Hoses Clamps, New Radiator Cap, New Temp. Sensor, New Coolant (50%-50% Anti-Freeze Clean Water Used All Year Round). Hopefully that should fix it. Almost forgot; With a Blown Head Gasket there will be Water in the Oil, you should Flush the Engine and change the Oil Filter.
