Q: And would a water pump off any 302/5.0 fit the 1985 F-150 302/5.0 whether it was from a Mustang ,or Crown Victoria
they should, the best way is cross reference the part go auto zone page check the part numbers see if they match
Q: i replaced the water pump and redid the timing belt. now when i start it, it sounds like one of the cylinder is misfiring and makes a chucking noise. do you have to reconnect everything together to see if thats the problem? the engine worked fine before i replaced my water pump. engine like vibrates at each chucking noise. could it be incorrect timing even when the engine starts fine? or is one of the valves bent which is causing the vibration and noise? i checked teh spark plugs and they are fine could if be bad coils? or is the crankshaft weared out? please help and thanks for you help about my situation.
timing is off. did u line the makesbefore taking the belt off ,and did i spin the motor two full turn to see if the timing makes line up
Q: I replaced the water pump on my 1997 acura cl 3.0 v6 vtec. I set the timing how alldata said to. (Lined up marks on timing drive pulley and both cam pulleys) and put it all back together. Now when I start it the motor runs rough for about 45 seconds then it smooths out but won't rev past 3000 rpm. What are some possibilites it could be?
reset the ecu, by disconnecting the battery cables off the battery for 30 mins and then reconnect them and see what happens
Q: What is the difference between a High Flow Water Pump, Heavy Duty Water Pump or and Electrical Water Pump for a street rod? I have a 77 Camaro with around 410hp with the factory A/C. The Camaro is stock as body, frame and interior. I want to enjoy the car vs racing it. I would like to go on trips to visit family out of town which is around 300 miles and be able to drive the car with out having over heating problems.
High flow is just that. It flows more coolant than stock Heavy duty is one with alittle bigger impeller shaft and disk Elec. water pump runs on 12 volts, no belt You should not use an elec water pump on a street car, those flows less coolant and do not last as long. I recommed a Milidon high flow water pump for yours. I'm running one of those, a summit 31x19 alum rad, and a ford turus 2 speed elec. fan on a 500 HP engine in a camaro and never have any cooling probs.. Even on 6 hour one way non stop trip in 90-100* weather during the summer
Q: What are the commonly used tools for repairing water pumps? Mainly for civilian 220V submersible pumps, self-priming pumps. How much is the spare parts ready for use?
This universal table is necessary, there is an insulation resistance meter, with some 8 six angle screws, as well as a common pump mechanical seal, you can also enter some of the water pump cable
Q: What is the difference between self-priming and non self suction?
Non self suction is the ordinary water pump for the water inlet pipe, but the flow of water is small,Self suction for the water inlet no water (that is, 4, 5 floor water, no water on the 6 floor), it uses the principle of negative pressure to suck up the water
Q: Ok i was wondering which is the from hose off of the motor the bottom or top since i thinl my heater core hose are reversed and i only get nuke warm air and not hot and yes ive got a brand new heater core, new anti freese, new thermostat and gaskets and all hoses are clear and not rust in the system
I think the info you are looking for is which heater hose supplies the heater core and which hose returns the water to the system. The heater core has two connections, the bottom is usually water in, the top water out. Generally the hose from the top of the engine supplies the heater core and the hose going to the water pump is returning back to the system. Having cleared that up, it doesn't really matter, even if the hoses are reversed, coolant will flow through the heater core regardless, unless there is a control built into one of the heater hoses that actually cuts off the flow of coolant to the heater core. Some trucks have them some don't. If yours does, check that it is working properly or remove it altogether. Now let's examine the possible source of your problem. I would look at either the heater control in the cab or the heater box itself. In the early 70's GM started using pneumatics, and vacuum operated components for their environmental controls. Vacuum operated doors opened and closed to allow airflow to different parts of the system, A/C, defroster, vents, heat, etc. A vacuum leak, a kinked hose, a bad control will cause the doors to stay closed, giving the illusion that there is no heat. By the same token, the wrong door stuck open could allow excessive outside air to mix with the heated air effectively cooling it off, but that is not likely. Check the main control in the cab, and the vacuum actuators and hoses. If by some chance yours still has the steel cables, make sure they are well lubricated, connected, and functioning.
Q: The wiper pump is broken. How much will it cost to fix it?
Hello, the wiper motor is broken, can only be replaced to solve the problem, different models of price difference is too large, general average car about 60-80. You can go to a few repair shop to ask, OK, you can also match the city or Taobao purchase.
Q: We've changed the hoses, and thermostat for the radiator. It still leaks coolant but we can't find out where it's leaking from.
Most likely your water pump is bad and leaking out of the weep hole on the pump, a water pump has a hole in it so when it goes bad water will start to leak water out of it.,The water pump is going to be on one end of the engine behind the timing belt cover , you wont be able to see it without pulling the cover. On most of these small cars the timing belt runs around the water pump.
Q: Do you need a stop valve for the pump at home?
It is better to connect with the pump. If it is a self suction pump, it can not be connected, but when it is pumped, it does not immediately have water, and the submersible pump is not necessaryMy home is a self suction pump, fully automatic control, I took the check valve, in the pump suction port position is very good, as long as it has started, there will be water out
