6.Conditions of use
Pumps used in the following conditions should be continuously to work properly:
1. For water pumps suitable medium, medium temperature shall not exceed + 40°C
2. The medium PH value between 6.5 ~ 8.5
3. The volume of medium containing solid impurity is less than 0.1%, the size is not more than 0.2 mm
4. The power frequency 50 hz, voltage for single-phase 220 v, 380 v, three-phase voltage fluctuation range for rating of 0.9 to 1.1 times
5. Diving depth of no more than 5 m, is not suitable for irrigation and drainage of sewage and chemicals.
- Q: mechanic says the bearings are going on the pump, and they might as well replace the thermostat while they are there.my question is he right?do they have to remove the engine to replace either the pump or the thermostat?seems like a lot of $ for a what should be a simple job ($450).thanks for your help!
- If you have the 3.4L V6 the water pump is a simpler job to replace than the one on the 4 cylinder motor. The thermostat on the V6 is in a very tight spot, next to the exhaust pipe. I am unsure about the difficulty of the thermostat replacement on the 4 cyl.
- Q: I have a pontiac grand am 1996 v6 with a 3.1L 3100 SFI engine. I have a coolant leak and I think it's coming from the water pump. When the car is cool and then turned on, about 4 to 9 minutes into warming up, coolant is hitting a belt and spraying out of the car's front end. When this is happening I see that there is coolant dripping off of the waterpump housing. The coolant started to spray everywhere about 15 seconds before the radiator fan kicked in. Why would this happen when first warming up only? Can a defective thermostat cause this to happen?
- Mating surfaces of water pump slightly expand after warm up closing tighter on gasket in between, so the leak will not be as much. If you leave it, eventually it may get larger and will leak all the time. Change the water pump and/or it's gasket.

- You must have a surface mounted well pump also called a jet pump or you wouldn't hear a noise from a submirsable which is at the bottom of the well. Check where the motor hooks onto the pump itself to see if there are any small oil fittings. I doubt that there are, but it can't hurt to look. If you find any use 3M or similar oil to lubricate the bearings. If the house has been vacant for awhile those bearings might be rusty from sitting, and may stop swealing on their own as you use the pump and the shaft/bearings may grind the surface rust off and stop the noise. If they don't you will have to call a service company to evaluate the problem. Here is part of jet pump potential maintainence issues: Perform necessary pump maintenance: some water pumps require inspection and replacement of internal parts such as bearings or impellers as often as after just four or five years of use. While it may be possible to ignore this maintenance for a while, the effect may be to so wear the pump or pump motor parts that complete pump or pump motor replacement are necessary.

- Water Pump Removal Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Remove air cleaner (if necessary). Loosen water pump pulley bolts. Remove serpentine drive belt. Remove water pump pulley bolts and pulley. Note position of locate tab on top of water pump for installation reference. Remove bolts, water pump and gasket. Installation Apply thread sealant to water pump bolts. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Fill and bleed cooling system (fill reservoir and radiator, run engine until upper rad hose starts to become hot. Top off and replace cap) Torque Specs Water pump bolt................89 Inch Pounds Water pump pulley bolt .....18 Foot Pounds

- 4A-FE okorder /... it's an externally mounted pump. so as far as pumps go, it's relatively easy. easy for a novice. knowlegeable begginer should be able to tackle it. here's a clip for water pump replacement on a 94 rolla with the 4A-FE engine. engine bay will be slightly different. but the proccess will be exactly the same. since it is on a rolla, some of the equipment removed for ease of access maybe different on yours. may or may not need or wish to crank engine mounts. youtu.be/BiXCCA5dLM0 use that in conjunction with the manual if needed. to do it right, yes. need a torque wrench. but it can be done w/o one. though since you're asking (denotes lack of experience/no insult), i strongly suggest you rent one and use it. can be rented at most any auto parts store. prolly 20 buck for the day.

- this is not that big a deal, this engine is 3/4 ths of a chevy sbc 305, which is basically the same as small block chevys from 1955 forward-the good thing is that this can be done quite easily in the car, just remember this engine has a serp belt, so take note of where the belts go and how the pulleys are aligned with all the accessories. DO NOT break the seal on the a/c unit, just take off the compressor and set it to the side, same with the power steering and alt. Once you get through the pulley system, just remove 4 bolts on the front of the pump, remove it, you have already drained the coolant, and keep it, either reuse it or dispose of properly, remove the pump, and clean off the old gaskets from the front of the engine block. Take the old pump with you, get one that is the exact same as the one you took off-do not allow the old pump to be taken by the parts store, buy an all new unit, not a rebuilt, and keep your old one until the new one is installed and functions properly-I know, I am probably overly protective, but many times I have brought home what appeared to be the correct pump, and it did not work, then I did not have my old one to look at to see exactly what i needed...good luck, as far as the paint, well, use a solvent to soften whatever is stuck to the paint, if it in fact is concrete, not cement as that is the powder that concrete is made from, then try a little vinegar, it is slightly acidic, will dissolve the concrete, and the spot can be removed gently, hopefully without chipping the pain-here is the good news, concrete does not chemically bond with paint, so you should have no problem...good luck, be careful.

- Your car has only one fuel pump in the gas-tank of it's a four cylinder motor. It has only one fuel pump if the motor is a V-6. In both cases, change the fuel filter first. Have the fuel pressure checked in the fuel rail pressure fitting beside the fuel injector nozzles. No need to change the fuel pump if the pressure is at least 35 psi. No way in heck should it cost $900. to have the water-pump and thermostat replaced on your car. Pretty sure a Chevrolet dealer, who know services Saturn would charge that much! *Check out more trusted private mechanics for prices. - the water pump has a small weep hollow on the backside the place it incredibly is going to leak small strains of coolant/water. it incredibly is a hallmark that the seal interior the pump is going undesirable. it may pass from a small leak to leaking like a cow pissing on a flat rock at every time. if this occurs the motor will overheat and you're able to finally end up caught on the edge of the line. the estimate sound genuine looking and does it incorporate the tax and each thing?
