Q: HiThe well in my house is around 60 feet(20 meter). And the tank is 10 meter above the ground. My pump is Kirloskar Jet 1.5HP . It use to fill 500 Liter tank in 20 minutes. But now a days it is taking around 45 minutes to fill in. The pump is around 10years old. But it sounds good. Is it a problem with Pump or something else like Foot valve, Pipe, Pressure adjustment etc? . Do I need to change the pump? Which one is best suit for my well?. Submersible or Jet or something else?: It's possible that your pipes are closing in and it's possible that the screen in your well is clogging up or the inpeller is going bad. Do you have a holdin tank above ground? and is it an aerator as well ? You may even have cloogged diverters or sprayers

Q: I have a leak on the front of the engine by the timing belt housing coming out of a small hole by the alternator. I assume it is a leaking water pump. How do to go about changing the water pump?Short clip of actual leak coming from the hole by the alternator and under the timing belt housing: water pump is timing belt driven, so you have to pull all of the belts off, the timing belt cover and that belt also. if that belt has not been replaced in 80,000 miles. you want to do that. i had a 93 civic and a 90 civic that i did the belt and pump in at 230,000 miles. it takes a little time but it is not that bad. the harmonic balancer has to come off for the timing belt also.

Q: i used my water fountain pump for the first time yesterday and I've had it for 10 years and i used it yesterday it worked with the water and everything was fine!then the next day i wanted to turn it on , it went on it started vibrating but it wasn't pumpingwhen i had it on the other day the water was dirty but it was workingi cleaned it the filtershould i put vinegar to clean it ?and what else should i do!??? When you purchase the trashcan the Rubbermaid cans have been proven to be safe for potable water, can't say that all others will be made with non leaching plastics. Also Suggest adding the dechlorinating product i.e. prime into the tank itself, instead of adding it to the water and sitting all week in the vessel which leaves a layer of scum on the trashcan from my experience. Q: I have a 94 Mazda b2300 it was working great last week then all the sudden it started making a knocking sound and started to overheat! Its still drivable but it overheats if i go far! A friend told me it can be the Water Pump so i put a new one, I was told it can be the Thermostat so i had a new one put in. It worked for awhile but began overheating again. My truck is my livelihood so its important i get it fixed! I cant afford a mechanic but just asking to see if anyone knows what it could possibly be? Q: My family has a vacation home on the bay side of a small island off the coast of Texas. The house has a water well and uses an electric pump housed in a pump house underneath the structure, which is up on stilts. The house is infrequently used and with the seaside conditions the pump has corroded and will not start automatically. What do I need to do to clean it up so it will function? I do not believe that the motor is damaged.: the problem with the pump not running will be the motor only.....most likely the motor rotor has rusted to the winding core of the motor ....soak it down with wd40 on the inside ...should be vent holes to spray wd40 in...try to find some way to turn rotor ....on some pumps there is a screwdriver slot on the end of the motor...if it still wont run take it to shop

Q: i hear water swirl in my dash board when i take off and when i reverse, i heard its the water pump pushing water through the heater core, but how can i fix it.?: The issue is not just that the water pump is pumping air through the system, it is that there is an issue with air being in there in the first place. It gets there one of two ways. First, your cooling system is losing water somewhere and air is getting drawn in through the coolant overflow bottle or through a leak in the hoses, the radiator, or the radiator cap. Second it is getting in through a compression leak. Compression leaks are caused by blown head gaskets or cracked or corroded cylinder heads or engine blocks. You need to determine which it is, because you need to address the issues differently. Fill the cooling system with coolant, purge the air out of it, and connect a pressure gauge to the radiator where the cap normally goes. Start the engine. If the gauge fluctuates up and down, you have a compression leak caused by a blown head gasket or crack in the block or head. If the gauge doesn't fluctuate, you have a leak in the cooling system that could be in any one of many places, such as hoses, caps, freeze plugs, the radiator itself, the heater core, or one of many gaskets. If it turns out to be a compression leak, you need to pull off the heads and replace the gaskets, and if there is any corrosion or cracks, you need to either replace or repair the heads. Broken head bolts can also allow compression leaks, so if you do remove the heads, you need to replace the bolts and torque them to the correct specs. If your engine oil looks frothy, like latte, this is another sign that you have a blown head gasket. It means coolant is getting into the engine oil. If it is a leak in the cooling system that is not related to the head gasket, you need to find it and seal it. There is no other way to find out exactly what is allowing air into your cooling system other than these two methods. The sound you hear when water is flowing through your heater core is actually the air gurgling through. No air, no sound.

Q: Hi there: my water pump is leaking, and my coolant lelel keeps droping, same problem. Im not sure if coolant flows through the water pump?: While it may seem the water pump is the most likely culprit, I agree with the thermostat solution. Usually, when a water pump fails, it does so gradually, reducing the flow and showing intermittent overheating-usually under load or high temp conditions first. The thermostat, however will cause an immediate overheating situation. You should just go ahead and change the thing anyway, as it's only about five bucks and MAY take 10 minutes to change. Q: i got that special socket but everytime i try to loosen the pump going clockwise i can not get the pump to come loose the socket just slips off any suggestions these is a northstar engine: The tool you need is the kent moore design one. it has a bracket that bolts on and helps hold that socket that you call it snug against the pump..one other thing look at the new pump to determine the direction it loosens because i do not remember,also we have only one tool and its worked on all northstar engines so far
