- Q: How to install circulating water pump for cooling tower?
- This should be installed at the inlet of the cooling tower. The water at the outlet of the cooling tower is returned to the pool
- Q: The truck has 89k on it and i'm having the timing belt done this week; would it be wise to get the pump changed since it's in the same area, even though it's not leaking; for preventitive maintenance purposes, or is there life left in the pump? I don't want to take it back soon after if the pump does go out
- as a mechanic, I always OFFER the customer the option. The water pump can last a long time however, as you've probably been told, it is driven off the timing belt. Therefore, if, say six months from now the pump developes a leak, its like doing the whole job over. Now, the tech won't know for sure there isn't a small weepage at the pump seal until the parts are exposed. There is a vent hole or weep hole as some call it and it will get crusty stuff on it or coolant traces from it if the seal is beginning to leak. I have personally seen a few that have gone bad by the 90K service. You'd have to be awfully optimistic to think it's gonna last another 90K. Lastly though, the part going on should be a new pump, not a rebuilt. Quality is important. The only other item you have to look forward to failing, if it hasnt already is the starter contacts. A good shop familiar with this issue will replace the two contacts in the starter instead of gouging you for a reman unit. Hope that helps. Make sure they use the correct coolant formula for your vehicle. PS: those are awsome engines. a HUGE improvement over the 3.0 litre motor.
- Q: Im looking at putting a little cabin on my property for hunting. i have a 200 gallon under ground water tank for fresh water. I'm needing a pump to run water into the cabin for a sink toilet and possibly a shower. does anyone know what style pump i will need so that it does not constantly build up pressure when not in use that way i don't burn it up.
- The way wells work is there's a pump at the bottom. It pumps water into a holding tank that has a diaphragm separating water from an air charge. There's also a pressure sensor switch that kicks the pump on when the pressure in the water tank drops below 40 PSI and shuts it off when it reaches 60 PSI. Well water systems don't just run the pump constantly, or they would burn up. What you want to do is use your storage tank as a source. Pump that into a smaller holding tank from a well water system so that when you run the water you run it from the pressure in the holding tank. When the pressure is low enough the main tank pump will pump up the pressure in the holding tank back to 60 PSI and shut off again. It's well worth it to make sure you don't have leaks. Otherwise your main tank will end up empty and the pump will run on and on. Which is another thing you have to watch for. You can install a float level switch so that if the water in the main tank drops below a certain level it shuts the pump off. AND you can also have it switch a warning light on so you know when the big tank is empty. Hope this helps. '')
- Q: In 2005, the water pump, export pressure in recent years decreased year by year, the running current is increasing, there are 4 pumps are like this. Professional personnel advice please!
- The outlet pressure decreases, indicating a decrease in speed. The increase of the current shows that the load has increased. Generally speaking, the resistance of rotating parts increases. Check that the bearings of the pump and motor are damaged as soon as possible. As soon as you replace it, you will be able to return to normal. If this is done for a long time, the motor is likely to burn out
- Q: What are the export pumps packed in cartons?
- Upstairs said the basic right, but only limited to the domestic, export also put the pump's wooden case (frame) into the carton.
- Q: Difference between primary hot water pump and two hot water pump
- A hot water pump is a water pump circulating between the boiler and the heat exchanger, and the two hot water pump is a circulating water pump between the heat exchanger and the user. That is, there is no relationship between a water pump and heating users.
- Q: its a honda accord 1991 Lx my car started overheating only when i stop when i go it doesnt overheat what should i check like the water pump
- chances are your radiator cooling fan is not working, could be the cooling fan switch, bad fan motor,or relay
- Q: I will be replacing my timing belt soon. The dealer is suggesting that I also replace the water pump. Is that really necessary? When do water pumps normally go out?
- Water pumps have bearings, some new cars use plastic impellers. Eventually these do wear out. As you paid all the labor to get at the water pump, might as well replace it with a new one.
- Q: Earlier today I was driving and my car shut off at a stop sign. I got it to start again and it shut off at the next stop sign, so after a few minutes I got it to start again and immediately pulled over as there was a small amount of smoke coming from under my hood. The temp gauge didn't say it was overheating, but I think it mightve been stuck, because that had to be what happened. After sitting there for a while it started and stayed that way for a while, I let the engine run. I drove it to the gas station and put some coolant directly in the radiator and the resevoir, and almost all of it leaked right out. I started to drive it home and had to pull over about 6 times to let it cool down because it kept overheating( temp gauge showed it this time). I think its the water pump that is leaking, but I know very little about cars, and was wondering if it could be anything else? Also, the heater wasn't working in the car today at all.
- The heater wasn't working because you were losing the coolant. If the cooling system is not full, the coolant won't circulate and warm coolant won't flow through the heater core. But the water pump on the Neon is not a known problem. I'm not saying that it's not the problem but it's not common. What I suggest you do is fill up the cooling system with water and start the engine. See if you can spot the fluid leaking out. If it is indeed the water pump, the pump is driven by the timing belt so the water would be leaking out at the bottom of the engine on the passenger side. If you don't see the coolant/water dripping out under the engine bay, it could be a bad head gasket and the coolant is disappearing inside the engine ( check under the oil cap, if it looks like a milkshake film under there, it can be the sign of a bad gasket ).
- Q: I am leaking antifreeze, but only when the car is sitting after it has been running for a while, and its quite frustrating..it's coming around where the hoses are, I just got the thermostat/thermostat housing replaced, and also the heater hose and it seems to be coming from the same general area AS those...My car doesn't leak all the time it seems, so I'm not sure what this could mean. It has not over heated, my ac isn't also working at all.I have taken it back to the mechanic two times in the last 2 days and they cannot determine it's having a leak or not..which is quite ridiculous!! It seems to them that they think I'm crazy or something, I just don't like to see antifreeze underneath my car, I mean who does? Does this sound like a water pump? Where exactly is the waterpump located?
- i think this might be work on how to check if the water pump is in bad condition, first run your car for about 20 min or 30 min until it became hot. then look at your water pump while your engine is still running. if you noticed that there's a steam rolling off then it needs to be change or replace. or if you see that there's a leak. what you need to do is to look at it while the engine is running. then you will know if it is in bad condition.
