- Q: ok i have a 2005 nissan xterra and i am wondering how i can install a glass pack. i realize that there are o2 sensors installed and i am wondering if installing glasspacks will affect the glass packs please give me lots of info im a noob lol
- Actually there are plenty of good mechanics willing to talk about preformance Exhaust. Most cat converter back systems by Borla, Banks, Greedy, Stillen Or flow master will not effect the cars emissions or O2 sensors in any way. I have to caution you just hacking and welding in a glas pack will make the truck noiser but not make much in the way of power. I suggest you start pricing a really good mandrel bent stainless steel life time warranty exhaust system. Also V-6 motors really make weird noises at different RPM's Only the really good systems will have the deep exhaust tone. And not sound like a weed eater or your friend's Honda.

- If you want to be loud, and get noticed, you can remove the catalytic converter, and replace it with a test pipe, or hollow it out. If you do it yourself, it's free! That's probably the easiest way to do it. HOWEVER this will not improve performance. If you want performance AND sound, look around at exhaust cutouts, cat-back exhaust (Meaning from the catalytic converter, and back), and aftermarket headers. Exhaust is one of the easiest 'bolt on' mods you can do aside from an air intake A few notes though -Car enthusiasts will not be impressed, because they will know it's not performance -This is illegal, and you will not be able to pass emissions testing. However, some people pay off mechanics to pass the car, or put the cat back in when the test comes around. I don't recommend this. ;-) -You will be called a ricer, especially with an Integra -You will get more attention. From everyone. Police included -If you're 16, your parents probably won't like it -As I said, this is illegal, so you're going to have to do it yourself, have a friend do it, or go to a shady mechanic. Hypothetically of course, because I don't condone illegal behavior. Wink wink -Unless you get a real exhaust system, it could sound like a higher pitched sound, unlike the deep rumble you're probably looking for. Youtube some stuff like exhaust no cats or cat-back exhaust Despite all this, highschool kids, for the most part, have no idea about cars, and will think your car is wickid sick! or hella cool or whatever. - Depending on which 3 series, I would say the BMW. If it is a 330i or 335i then I'd say get the Beamer. Not positive but I'm pretty sure the 2006 335i has a twin turbo i6. If its a 325i or 328i then you probably want the infiniti because that's a 3.5 litre and it will have more power. If you want it to look lowered, lower it. Don't try to make it look lowered with a body kit and wheels as you will sacrifice a lot aesthetically if you go down that road. If you are willing to drive a lowered car it is worth it to get the modified suspension, it will handle better and those cars look better with wheels that fit the wells, and I think 15's might look a bit weird on either of those cars. As for a body kit, try and go with something subtle, an aggressive looking lip is always good but subtle, restrained sideskirts and fenders have always suited my taste better.

- if your going to go all out and replace the whole system then you are looking at around $385.00 to $450.00 depending on the shop but there are cheapper shops around but thats the going rate around calif as we operate a 16 yr auto repair shop and we charge 35.00 a hour to do any repairs are checks hope this helps thanks god bless
- Q: Ok let me say this first i do not, i repeat DO NOT, want to have my car sound like those ricer hondas thats loud for no reason. I want my prelude to sound nice like kind of like an infiniti. I dont want my car too loud so cops can give me tickets or pull me over because of profiling. what kind of exhaust should i put in my prelude thats going to give it a nice purr but only gets loud when i floor it. I want an exhaust that gonna make v tec an eargasm. what do you recommend? if anybody suggest cherry bomb dont even answer.
- isn't a prelude a 4 cylinder car? You can not make it sound like a infiniti g35 or g37 because they have 6 cylinder. Like trying to make a 4 cylinder sound like a v8 american muscle engine, it isn't gona happen. btw you own a honda lol so you just called yourself a ricer hondas most ricers ARE 4 cylinder cars

- Hi. I would look in the yellow pages and see if i could find a local exhaust shop to do the work. I don't remember if that car has single or dual exhaust but i don't think it has a catalytic converter. Avoid Mienike or any major chain shop; the local muffler shop with a 1 year warrenty on the muffler is all you need. Straight exhaust pipes and a muffler.might be two pipes off the motor into one out the back, they should know what to do. Forget about flex pipe and doing it yourself. Been there, done that, its a waste of time. Get it done right the first time by a cheap shop and save yourself lots of headaches chasing leaks because you used flex pipe. Good Luck!

- If you are referring to welding on a used system yes it is way more difficult. The pipes have been hot cold many times, the dirt,mud and road grime is baked onto the surface, If you know basic welding you can do it with a little practice. If the pipes are old enough to be almost rotted out then time to replace.

- If you can find one, i suggest a white brothers exhaust system, but they are hard to find now due to the company no longer manufacturing. I suggest eBay. Other than that talk to a honda dealer they can tell you what else would be the best benefit to your bike.
