Or is there something out there that just blows them all away?: no exhaust system by itself will provide you with a gnats ss worth of power gain. An engine properly tuned to match exhaust and intake characteristics will give you power gain. You do not simply bolt on a farkle and suddenly have this amazing difference. You are making a change to a complex system and how well you make adjustments for it will determine the best power gain. Tuning will blow them all away!

I have 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition 4.7L V8.: any performance exhaust system (catbacks) will add some hp - at the crank, but quite frankly there will be no noticeable improvement in performance (only better sound). if you want to improve the drive's performance all of the following installations will have to be done: -cold air intake and throttle body spacer or bigger throttle body -performance exhaust, catbacks -preferably headers -re tune of engine management system by tuning chip, performance chip or pro-tune. together these will improve hp over stock by plus 15%, and with headers much of that will be delivered to rear wheels. installed individually these modifications do little. so if you want better sound - just do the mufflers and save yourself some money (or do electric exhaust cutouts, installed behind the cats, in front of mufflers) rather than a complete system. if you want performance you will have to scope out these other modifications.
