Q: Our house is situated on very sandy soil. I suspect that my water pump may be getting clogged with sand and silt and other debris. The water flow from the sinks and showers often stops randomly in the middle of the water running only to turn on maybe 30 seconds later. This seems to happen more and more frequently now where as a year ago and beyond it never occurred. Any suggestions?
I guess you are on a well system. If that is the case then you for sure have a problem with your pump. Good luck.
Q: Got pump ready and will not pump water. Have tried all things suggested to prime but will not pump water
You prime the gas with gasoline and the water pump is primed with water. The water pump needs a stop valve in the intake so you can add water and it will not run out. Once the impeller is full and the pump is running it should pump OK.
Q: I have to replace the hot water recirculating pump in my house. It is made in Hungary and the Manufacturer's letters look almost Russian. The only words in English are the spec's (amp draw, voltage, etc.) This house was built in 1998 and the plumber's no longer in business. It looks like it just threads onto a quot;capbut I don't want to start using pipe wrenches and just mangle it (it's very difficult to get to also). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
Typically, such pumps come as an assembly with flanges to match the existing pipe. Determine your pipe-size and purchase the entire system to that size. Your plumbing supply will be able to help you match all that. And the difference in cost between just the pump cartridge and the entire system is nominal. Get a good one, by the way. Grundfos and Bell Gosset are amongst the best, TACO comes in pretty well also. Unless you have isolation valves on either side of this pump, you will have to drain the system to do it properly. While you are in there, you have the opportunity to install isolation valves and other sorts of refinements for easing future servicing. Hope this helps.
Q: I think my water pump has crapped out on my 1997 Jeep Cherokee. I have been leaking coolant for a few days now and there is a puddle under my Jeep after I turn it off and my reserve tank keeps emptying out on me. I replaced the lower radiator hose and still the same problem. It is not over heating so I am wondering if it IS a water pump problem? If it is, could I do the work myself?
Special tools? What? They are real easy to do. You need only a 1/2 wrench, 5/8 socket, 9/16 socket, 8mm and 15mm. Remove belt (15mm to loosen tensioner pulley, then to loosen adjuster). Remove electric cooling fan (2 8mm bolts at top). Use 1/2 wrench to remove 4 nuts on viscous fan and remove fan. Remove water pump pulley (4 1/2 bolts). Remove hoses from water pump. Remove 2 5/8 bolts that secure water pump to P/S bracket. Remove 4 remaining 9/16 bolts holding water pump to block. Remove water pump. Installation is reverse. No special tools required. I've done hundreds of them and can do one in about 1.5 hours.
Q: Fire pump room is required to set up water pump control room?
What is the concept of fire pump control room? If there is a control room host automatic alarm automatic fire alarm system of words (through the pump distribution box can also control) can control the fire pump, if there is no distribution box automatic alarm system you can through the pump room control
Q: Hi, I'm looking for an affordable pump that can be used to circulate heated water (60 C) through a 12pipe with a diameter about the size of a pencil. Is there a pump out there to match this application? I've come across some small fountain pumps, but they need to be submerged in the 60 C water bath and I'm not sure about the temperature tolerances of it. The model I'm currently looking at is a quot;TotalPond130gph fountain pump model. Thanks
You could try that pump but I don't think you get enough pressure. They can pump quite a bit of volume but don't have any pressure. It might be able to pump 130gph but check and see at what head. The head is what it can pump vertically. Could be 130gph at 3ft head but give it a go, might work just the way you want it to. An inline pump probably better to set up than a submerged one.
Q: Water pump "rated lift: 6m" what do you mean?
Lift refers to the weight of fluid per unit weight after the pump, the pump is an important working parameter, also known as pressure head. Simply stated: rated lift 6M refers to the rated operating conditions of the pump, the increase of energy 6M water column height. Here's an example to help you understand:Example 2-1 the head of a centrifugal pump is now measured. The refrigerant is 20 DEG C water, the measured flow rate is 60m^3/h, vacuum pump inlet meter 0.02Mpa, outlet pressure gauge readings for the 0.47Mpa (g), the two known table between the vertical distance is 0.45M if the suction pipe of same diameter and pipe pressure pump, calculate the pump head.Solution:Check the water density at 20 centigrade 1.0*10e3kg/m3,H=0.45m (1Mpa approximately equal to 100 m water column)P exports =0.47Mpa (0.47*100 m water column, =47 m water column)P imports =-0.02Mpa (0.02*100 m water column, =2 m water column)P is the density of the liquidH=h+ (P -p / P g=0.45+ export import) (0.47*10e6- (-0.02*10e6)) / (10e3*9.887) =50.5m (water)
Q: How many pumps does a 50 meter water head use?
Deep well submersible pump head = dynamic water level to pipe outlet height + outlet pressure + hydraulic loss along courseTherefore, it is necessary to provide the dynamic water level of the well, the required flow rate, the pipe diameter, and the vertical height of the wellhead to the highest point, so as to estimate the pump head.
Q: My water pump went out. I had a new water pump put on my accord a year and a month ago. Since then have driven 5-6,000 miles in a small city town. Does this makes sense. Could it be a cheaper water pump was put on my car and it went out. The person who worked on it is a mechanic who does a bunch of cars on the side. Last time he worked on my brakes, I had to bring it back because he put cheap ones on.Can I call this guy back? What could I say?
Unfortunately most water pumps, even new ones, are warrantied for one year so while you may have to pay for another one I'd be sure whoever I paid for the labor was a different mechanic. Even new pumps can go bad prematurely but a reputable shop would probably make some allowances since its so close to the warranty limits. The other advice given about the coolant is spot on too. It should have been refreshed at the time the pump went in but just because it should have, doesn't mean it was.
Q: There is a 5.5KW before the pump head is now 25 meters and flow of 20 cubic meters, but not up to the requirements, I think this is like with a motor pump, lift more than 20 meters, the flow is about 40 cubic meters of water pump, please inform the models and parameters, thank you
With the motor pump are pump according to the actual need of work with you in the head, under the same water doubled, the motor is certainly not enough, you should this motor pump change together in order to meet the requirements of.
