Operations Conditions


1. The medium temperature should not be over 60oC, the density 1200Kg/m3, and the pH value within 5-9.
2. During running, the pump must not be lower than the permitted lowest liquid level.
3. Rated voltage 380 V, rated frequency 50 Hz. The motor can run successfully, only under the condition the deviations of both rated voltage and frequency are not over ± 5%.
4. The maximum diameter of the solid grain going through the pump has not to be larger than 50% of that of the pump outlet.

Q: We have a private well with a 40 year old water pump that is rusting away, and sounds like a truck. It's a double jet well pump sitting on a tank, with a second tank to one side that it's also connected to (with a thick pipe). I don't quite understand why there are two tanks (there's a third which is obviously the hot water). I'm guessing one of these is to hold water, and the other to provide air pressure? In any case, the pump runs OK, it doesn't leak, and provides plenty of pressure. It is just unbelievably loud. I've been told that replacing the bearings might take care of this problem, but seeing how the tank the pump rests upon (with a thin tube connecting it to the pump) is rotting away, and the system is older than I am, should I just replace the whole thing?
I would replace the whole unit,for one if it was to go bad you are going to have water everywhere,and also the new one will be smaller and more energy effecient.

Q: Alright,I happen to be the only man in the house and the plumbing is a bit faulty. You see,the machine has been filled with water as necessary and was ignited. It sounds perfectly fine and you can feel water run through the pipes connected to it, when touched. But it's been an hour now and the taps are not producing water. Please can anyone help? If you are in a very cold climate you could have frozen pipes. If not call a plumber.
Q: changed the thermostat. it overheats but cools down a heat bar or two idling at stoplights. i filled up the coolant reservoir when i changed the thermostat, drove it about 2 miles(engine was already up to temp when i started) and it overheated. drove it two miles back going about 35-40 and it never went above normal but was still overheating. checked the reservoir and it was empty. stuffed a hose in it and plugged it up with a towel to force water in to see if it was leaking anywhere, no leaks. while running with the rpms up the top hose is easy to squeeze. makes me think water pump. but if i go over 45 it over heats makes me think clutch fan.

Q: Im changing the water pump on my explorer. As i was unscrewing the bolts one of the heads to the bolt wore out and now its really hard to take out and its giving me a headache. any ideas of what i should do to take it out?
If there's tail of the screw still out ,use an alligator clamp wrench . clamp it as hard as you can ,then spray some WD-40 waite 5 minutes and then try to open it . If it brake from inside the trade ,there's no way except drill small size hole than the screw, in the screw and then use left turn opener wrench (buy it from auto zone or home depot) direction of the use it's on the Package .It is a left turn traded screw with square end . After you get ride of that screw for re installation use high temperature grease and apply to the tread ,make sure pump cap it's not deform ,if is deform buy new and apply grease to the washer gasket before install .

You are correct Amps x Volts = watts and since there are about 750 watts per Hp then you have a 2/3 Hp motor. Water pumps can be either submerged in the well bore hole or located top side. A top side well pump relies on the air around it to cool the motor. THe motor may not be rated for continuous duty (see name plate on motor) and may only be rated for a limited amount of time it can be run before it needs a cool down period. (Typically motors are rated for continuous duty) Submersible well pumps are located under water in th well and use the water in contact with the motor housing to cool them. Cooling is thus related to the water flow around the motor and the availability of water. Normal well pump usage for a home is for brief periods when water is actually being used and to maintain system pressure. So unless you are constantly watering your lawn your pump should cycle on and off as necessary. Continuous running is a sign that there is a problem such as a leak, worn pump not achieving proper pressure, or pressure switch setting or similar issue not allowing proper shutdown. If you have a submersible well pump it will be very difficult to tell when it is running unless you can hear the motor contactor open and close or have an indicator light. A properly operating water system will pressurize an accumulator storage tank (water pumped into a tank which contains an air bladder that can be compressed). Once the tank is pressurized the pump shuts off and stays off until the pressure in the tank drops. Pressure drops when you use water or if the water leaks back into the well. At which time the pump runs again and tops off the tank. So in a properly operating system shutting off the well at night won't save you much because the pump should not be running. However if you have a leak and the pump is running a lot you can secure the power to the pump at night until you can get the system repaired
Q: I had high-pitch noise coming from my engine; it was coming from the belt area. I change the belts but the noise is still happening. After doing some research, I noticed that the noise is coming from the Water pump bearings. I installed this water pump Last year and the warranty is expired on it. A friend told me that if a bearing goes bad on a Water pump, then I should flush the cooling system because it leaves metal shavings into the engine. Is this true? in the first place find out why the pump went out so fast, it might be the belt is too tight or you got hold of a cheap pump.
