The rotation direction

Viewed from motor, the direction of the pump is anti-clockwise,that is the suction in the left, the discharge in the right.

The rotating direction of the type pump is clockwise, that is the suction in the right, the discharge in the left. 

Also can move the driver to another edge according to the user’s requires. Then, the rotating direction, the suction and discharge direction is in the opposite as the described above.

Q: Would a bad water pump make a whinning sound when the engine is reved.....ive checked everything off as to why my car is running so hot and im down to the water pump.....ive put a New thermostat....no leaks anywhere.....no oil in coolant....no coolant in water.....no white smoke.....Fans do turn on.....new colant and i bleed the air out.....but the engine is still running really hot....my car calls for about 13 quarts of coolant but upon refil it took only about 4 quarts...... .. . uld this be signs of my water pump failing.....the pump is not leaking and when i took the housing off the water pump and turn the engine the blades did rotate...but at a higher rpm with the car together i heared weird noies kinda like a whinning sound from the water pump.....1995 Oldsmobile Aurora194,000Northstar 4.0 V8
NOTE... GM had a problem with the radiators filling with crap. If you can't put 13 qts. of coolant in it then you have a plugged radiator. Replacement is required.
Q: We bought a second hand Rover 75, three months later head gasket blew. This was replaced but blew again due to original wet liners. A reconditioned engine was then put in but head gasket blew again due to original water pump. I am not trying to ascertain blame i would just like to know which is accurate as car seller is saying fault of mechanic as should have changed wet liners and water pump and mechanic is saying it is not common practice to change this parts when you replace a head gasket or engine. Thanks for any clarification, especially if you are a mechanic yourself.
Well the answer is..... I am going to take a guess that this is a Rover K series engine. They blow the head gasket just for something to do. Terrible problem when the engine was a 1.4 and it only got worse as they bored the engines out. The original fault will be poor maintenance and a failure to ensure it always has loads of anti freeze or corrosion inhibitor in there. That makes the liner to block interface corrode. The second is more controversial, if I knew the water pump was fairly new then I would probably not fit a new one with an exchange engine. If however the water pump was old or an unknown quantity then I would almost certainly change it, and the clutch too, if I had the engine out as it's such a fiddly job to do. BUT who was paying for the work? If it was you then this would have added a fair bit to the bill (if you didn't tell him to change it then really you can't complain that he didn't do it) and it it was warranty work then the terms of the warranty might set out what was supposed to be done. i am assuming you are referring to jet pumps, and not a submersible, you cannot convert a deep jet pump to a shallow. the deep well jet pump has the foot valve down in the well casing. it uses two pipes that go to the foot valve. the deep jet forces water down the well and uses a venturi effect to draw water back up to the tank. the shallow water jet pump only uses one pipe in the well casing. the foot valve is in the pump itself. the venturi is created in the pump itself, and uses a vaccuum type effect to draw water up from the shallow well.

Depends on what engine and what pump check the impeller to see if it is bad.

Q: Why should the pump fill the air before running? What's the reason why the water doesn't go up?
By rotating the water pump is thrown from the impeller center, resulting in pressure, the back of the water sucking over, this is the pump working principle, if air, air will not be left out without impeller, the flow rule, no pressure, so we can not draw water!

Q: There is a loud squeecking noise coming from the water pump and the serpentime belt isnt loose!I dont know how long it would take a mechanic to do the job?
Spray some water on the belt while it's schreeching to rule the belt out. They often make noise, even when tight.
Q: and it still runs about every 1/2 hr even if you are not using water. I have no leaks from the pump thought the house so I think the problem is between the house and the well. I can't hear or see any leaks in the elbows in the well. I tried to pull the foot valve up but can't get it out. I replaced the pump cause it was worn out and it was running every 15 min. Do I need to set the pressure on the new one it cuts off at 42 and on at 20 psi and what else could cause it to run when it shouldn't? I know I should call a plumber, but haven't worked in months and can not afford one.
Could be the check valve in your holding tank is allowing it to bleed the pressure back into the well thru the pump and once the pressure regulator drops to cut-in press the pump runs. Get a chair and watch the pressure gage.
Q: 94 f150,302 engine. the water pump comes with 2 gaskets. one behind a metal plate on the pump and another for mounting it to the motor. my question is do you have to use sealant of any kind on both gaskets or can you just bolt it on?
use sealant you dont need a ton but enough to hold the gaskets in place
