- Q: I've got a 1997 Ford Probe, taken it to a couple different places; whenever I drive my vehicle, it tends to want to overheat. I don't drive it to the point where it does though, I know that could cause more damage! I've noticed that when I go out to my car in the morning, there's some coolant on the ground by the front passenger's tire. Before I drive it I fill it with coolant, as to try to keep it from overheating while driving.I've been told that it's the water pump leaking from 2 people but then the last person said there's no leakage. I'm wondering if it might be something else? Maybe a thermostat, a hose, maybe? How would I figure this out???
- Sounds like it's probably the water pump to me too. It's easy to tell though, just get it on a lift and take a look at the water pump. If it's leaking out of the weeping hole, it's toast. Don't power wash an engine unless you want to risk very expensive repairs from water being forced into places it's not supposed to be. Odds of the pump locking up and leaving you stranded before those bearings get VERY upset, start screaming and dumping fluid like there's a hole in the system is a hundred to one. You should be able to limp it to a shop just fine when it gets worse. Just be careful not to overheat and you'll be fine. (I did say 1 in a hundred, you're not super unlucky, are you?)
- Q: How many lift pumps should be used for 100 meters tall buildings?
- Specific to calculate pipeline loss in order to know.. According to my experience, feeling that life would be 130 meters -140 meters to 110 meters can fire if the premise is the roof of a pump group
- Q: I need to replace a water pump
- Just take off the fan belt, unbolt the water pump and fit the new one. Make sure the gasket area is clean and use a new gasket. If it has the fan on it, take that off first.
- Q: for the water pump in MY car that he has been using for his job!! He has threatned that the water pump cost $400 - 500 dollars but I didn't hear abut that when it was done!!! We are breaking up and it is My car but he says that he is taking te water pump out! Can he do that??? We also ave a daughte but I will ask about that later!! TRUST ME!!! I need to know about Custody Battles in Anoka or Hennipin County, Monnesota, 55433!!!! Please Help!!!!!!!!
- Using a drill, drill a gap within the middle of the damaged bolt. If it is a a million/two inch bolt, use a three/eight or five/sixteen bit. If its a five/sixteen bolt, use a three/sixteen or eleven/sixty four bit, you get the proposal. Just go away sufficient sidewall of the bolt for the E-Z OUT to seize Make certain you middle the gap as first-rate you'll. Using a hammer and a sharpened punch to make a opening dimple makes it less complicated. Drill the gap to approximately a million/two inch deep. Go to any vehicle constituents retailer. Tell them you wish to have an E-Z OUT stud remover. Make certain it's the proper diameter for the gap you drilled. An E-Z OUT is a tapered bit with ridges spiraling down it is period within the reverse course than the threads of the bolt you're making an attempt to take away. Insert the E-Z OUT within the gap and switch counter-clockwise utilizing an adjustable wrench. Hopefully it is not caught to unhealthy and can pop out with ease. The most effective different choice is to drill the entire bolt out and re-thread the block. Good Luck. Wish I might do it for you. It is not intricate. If you may have anyone do it for you, do not get ripped off. A ethical and descent mechanic can do that in as low as five mins and is not going to cost you anymore than $20. There's most effective $five valued at of work in it, however mostly you ought to pay for proficiency. Hope this is helping.
- Q: how do you change the water pump
- When you change the timing belt you as well change the water pump as well. If you take it to anyone for timing belt change they will ask you if you want to change water pump because its convenient to change it out at that time. But if you dont have any knowledge how to work with the timing dont mess with it take it to someone who is knows what there doing because paying couple hundred dollars is better then paying thousands for engine rebuild or new engine.
- Q: my pump went out and i can't afford to have it fixed at a shop.
- 94 Nissan Quest
- Q: My Ram is leaking collant bad but it doesnt seem to be coming from the water pump it seems like it is coming from directly below the water pump. What part is this and is it even possible for this part to be leaking coolant?
- There is a weep hole in the water pump housing on the underside of the shaft. When the seal goes out, coolant will leak from this hole. If you get a mirror, you can see it, or go to a parts store and ask to see one. You need a water pump. If you wait too long and the bearing goes out completely, you may be 40 miles from home with no coolant in your radiator.
- Q: I have a 1999 Volkswagen Passat and the water pump seems to be leaking. The lower radiator hose has been replaced but it still leaks a fairly substantial amount. From what I can tell the pump is still doing its job but I'm losing coolant. Is there a way I can determine if i just need a new gasket or a new pump altogether without ripping the front end off? Any feedback is appreciated.
- ALL VW's require NEW WATER PUMPS, and TIMING BELTS at 100k mile intervals except the VR6! your is either a 2.8 or a 1.8 TURBO engine! ONLY GENUINE VW COOLANT can be used in there! Use the BLAUFERGNUGEN website to purchase the WATER PUMP/TIMING BELT KITS! Or call 1-80-ALL-EURO or 1-800-ALL-AUDI THIS IS NOT A CHEVY CAVALIER! This is a REAL car with special needs! you cannot use VALVOLINE or PRESTONE in this car or you wil RUIN IT FOR YOURSELF! VW/AUDI engines require oil that meet the higher SPEC NUMBERS 502/505 oNLY! This means MOBIL ONE 0W-40 and a handful of others, like AMSOIL< PENTOSIN< the factory fill oil, or TOTAL ENERGY oil from France! PENNZOIL ULTRA EUROPEAN is very hard to find, but EXCEPTIONAL oil! Pennzoil makes the oil for FERRARI and the ULTRA series oil carries a 15 year 500k mile OIL WARRANTY! DO NOT SCRIMP On this car! If the engine overheats or melts inside you will be a VERY SORRY CAMPER :( IF your radiator hose was replaced I have a FELLING that you already used the WRONG COOLANT IN THERE !The factory coolant shoudl nearly last the lifetime of the car! If your hose EXPLODED than check your COOLING FAN SWITCH! WHICH ENGIEN DO YOU HAVE HERE? the TURBO engien is FANTASTIC but if you EVER USED VALVOLINE in it, expect to have melted CRANKCASE VENTILATION hoses and FILTHY throttle body and idle air control valve! HAVE THESE THINGS CLEANED UP! EXPECT to have a TIMNG BELT KIT installed at 100k miles along with a NEW PUMP! Be SURE you are getting a genuine HEPU brand water pump and NOTHING ELSE! These are words of WISDOM! The VW engine is capable of getting to 500k miles and MORE< or just to 120k miles IT IS UP TO YOU TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FLUIDS and ALL VW/AUDI fluids come from PENTOSIN company! VALVOLINE will burn up your turbo and PRESTONE will eat holes in your GASKETS and rot RADIATOR HOSES and cause HEATER CORE LEAKS! GOOD LUCK!!
- Q: noise when i acclerate you cant hear it as much because of engine noise but when its at idle the squealing noise is somewhat loud does anyone know what it could be ? its not the water pump because i bought it new and im not overheating and the belts arent too tight either i have already checked them
- Take the fan belt off and spin the water pump by hand. If it's dead silent make sure the new water-pump outer flange is holding the pulley directly over the pulley's on the crankshaft. If they aren't in perfect alignment or you hear noise tear the pump off and take it back. The outer pulley flange or noisy impeller makes it a candidate for a new pump. Why not get your money back from the whining pump and order a Stewart or Moroso aluminum racing pump for a few bucks more.
- Q: I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out why? Problems started when our car overheated due to neglecting to refill the coolant a while back. The coolant tank got cracks in it and we had to replace it- but now the water pump is leaking, says my husband- should we just replace the water pump or could this be a bigger problem? Why is it leaking all of a sudden now? (please no snarky rude answers , I'm looking for help not to be scolded! Yes we neglected to add more coolant-- damage is already done so don't bother making a ridiculous comment about it!)Thanks!
- water pumps go out all the time and we have no control over them.It is a good idea to service the cooling system once a year, draining the radiator and flush out the complete system .But anyway when you replace the pump it would be a great idea to do just that being that winter is coming up in a few months. Also you never mentioned what type of vehicle you are talking about, someone else mentioned a timing belt ,it really depends on the year make and model but that is some good info also. I hope this info helps ya out.
