normally diesel generators are not used to run refrigeration units because of the high starting current of compressor motors 390 tons equals 1370kwatts or 1.37mega watts taking 30% extra you get 1.78 megawatts a 2 mega watts diesel generator should be considered

And as to your first question: you can not build an HHO generator because there is no such thing as HHO gas. When you perform electrolysis on water (regardless of whether you use straight DC or pulsed DC), all that you get is a mix of H2 and O2. This mythical HHO gas they're talking about simpy dos not exist because unless they're in a plasma (ultra-high temperature), hydrogen atoms immediately bond to form a hydrogen molecule (H2). So there is *no* magic HHO gas, just a mixture of hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) molecules in a 2:1 ratio. What's more, since only a tiny amount of this gas can be generated using the avaiable electrical energy your car's alternator can deliver, it does *nothing* to improve your fuel efficiency and in fact will *reduce* the efficiency. Now just sit back and watch the scammers try to tell you otherwise and refer you to their websites so they can make some money out of you. :-) Please tell your friends and family about this scam so they don't get conned too.
Q: I am investigating CoGen engine applications. I am looking for about 100-150kWh power output plus heat (water). Do you know of any application that uses solar thermal energy to power the engine? Also, it seems most CoGen engines use natural gas or other gases, but gas would not be viable for my application. Diesel would most likely be the second best option. You can use a diesel generator set to generate power and the exhaust to heat or boil water. You could also use an air craft derivative gas turbine converted to diesel or jet fuel and make steam or hot water with the exhaust.
Q: Every time i go to the pawn shop i always end up craping my pants. I crap em so hard that i got to leave to change and come right backnext time i best bring a diaper because the pawn shop always does it to me. Q: I have a van and wish to kit it out with generator, welder and power tools. The genrator needs to cope with a 180amp rated welder plus 110v power tools (grinder, drill etc) being used at the same time. The generator needs to be diesel powered not petrol. The ones i've looked at are rated in Kva's. Not too sure how to work out how many Kva's i will require. Help please.
It will probably take something like 6.6 KVA's to run it. Similar one's take a 220 VAC, 30 amp circuit. The Model 180 MIG welds up to 1/4 steel. 6 heat settings and infinitely adjustable wire speed control welds a wider range. Max. output 160 amps with 30% duty cycle. Requires 220 Volts 60 cycle 30-amp circuit.

You would simply use a step-up transformer capable of handling 240V and about 8A. The transformer would be a transformer with 2 secondary windings for every 1 primary winding. This will double the voltage from the primary. 1000W is 1000W no matter what the voltage is. So (in a perfect world), you would get 1000W after stepping the voltage up to 240V. But you would actually get around 80-85% efficiency. But there is always a safety span built into the rating of generators (a 1000W generator could usually put out about 1400W without much of a problem). 1000W 120V * 8.33A (or 110V * 9.1A) 1000W 240V * 4.16A ---Realistically, you should be able to safely draw about 4A @ 240V. Q: I have a Kubota GL7000 portable diesel generator. now I've followed the recommended maint. schedule on it, new fuel filters, oil filters, oil changes, etc. I have just under 1,000 hours on it right now, it smokes a little when it's cold but when it warms up it runs nice and smooth and with no smoke, it seems to me that it's running really solid and I have no complaints or problems, but I'm curious how long a generator like this (2 years old) should last me?
ok so you a caring owner of the kubota gen. well a bit of smoke is ok w/ 1k hrs and you dont say how many times you use it ie you start it up just to ck it or your actualiy putting a load on it with power being draw on the gen. ? also its important that the oil your using is combatible with the weather and area your using it in trust this 40 w in the rockies aint gonna work and in winter you need a heater in the sump too keep oil warm
